Amanda Flower also writes a very cute cozy mystery series that features a teacup pig. I forget the pig’s name but it’s cute. The series might be called the Amish sweet shop series. I get them mixed up sometimes but you’re going to spot the pig on the cover because it’s on every one.😊
I will not finish my Victober book in October. I chose Armadale by Wilkie Collins. If I finish before the end of the year, I’ll be happy. 😂 I love gnomes! I’ve heard of Sipsworth and am interested in reading it. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Wonderful week of reading! 📚
I also read Sipsworth and enjoyed it. I felt much the same as you did - didn't think I was going to like it when I started, but kept reading. I found it to be full of hope even though I didn't agree with her worldview. I have not read Amanda Flower's Farm to Table series, but I have read her Emily Dickinson mystery series and her Katharine Wright Mystery series. I enjoy her writing and have been meaning to get to the Farm to Table series. Not sure if anyone has recommended the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series by Jacqueline Frost to you, but Jacqueline Frost is a pen name for Julie Anne Lindsey. If you liked the Cider Shop Mysteries I think you will enjoy the Christmas Tree Farm series. I started a cozy mystery series by Vicki Delany called The Sherlock Holmes Bookshop Mystery series. I have only read the first book and plan to continue with the series.
There is just something about Conan Doyle! It makes the best autumn reading or winter reading or anytime reading - he is just Mezmerize Ing. I never fail to completely be drawn along in the story and get really annoyed if anybody talks to me during that time!! LOL. I of course reread them or re listen to them pretty frequently and they are just a top classic forever and ever. I think you would really enjoy listening to some of the brilliant readers that have read some of these stories. There are quite a few out there, including one Irish guy whose name escapes me but he is just amazing. 💕💕💕
❤📚📚❤️ I really liked Sipsworth! I'm glad you liked it. When I started it, I wasn't sure either, but I'm so glad we both finished. 😊 Your week of reading was a good one! I'm intrigued by the 1942 book, The Little Grey Men? I'll see if I can get Out to Pasture from the library, for sure!
I enjoy Sherlock Holmes, have been wanting to do a complete read of all of it , hound of the Baskervilles is my favourite and the speckled band, yikes 😅. I am going to look out for the little grey men, I just love books like that and it just makes my day when I do find them😊.
I fell in love with Sherlock with Hound of the Baskervilles and I loved the Adventure of the Speckled Band, too!! Have you watched the TV adaptation with Jeremy Brett? I've watched a few of the episodes based on the ones I've read, so I need to go back and catch up. I love him as Sherlock!!
@@mitzireadsandwrites I have never seen the Jeremy Brett version, thanks very much for letting me know, I am going to find them and enjoy the watch. I have a few days off, looking forward to it! 😊
Yay! I knew you'd love Put Out To Pasture. (I mentioned it to you last month.) You've totally made my morning by your review of it. Autumnally wonderful, right? :) I began with that one, read the next two, then finished with that first one, Farm to Trouble. This might be my favorite cozy mystery series----I almost feel like I know those people in Real Life(!) I love Saturdays and you've made mine more special by talking about these books. Thank-you much!
Great wrap up! I might have to give Sherlock another try because I tried Study in Scarlet and Sign of Four and just wasn't feeling it. 😅 Sipsworth sounds good. What you described sounds a bit like A Man Called Ove. I think you would enjoy it too.
I love Sherlock Holmes and am due for a re-read! I have been enjoying the cozy Lady Hardcastle mysteries recently. I think you would like them. They are cozy and funny and the two main characters are excellent!
Hey Mitzi, I can get A Sipsworth and I plan on reading it near Thanksgiving as I heard what it was about and through it would be a good book to read and reflect on what we have😊
Hi, Mitzi! I read Sipsworth a couple of days ago. I read it in a couple of hours. I heard about it from Jen's Reading Life. I enjoyed it, maybe not quite as much as I thought I would, but I really enjoyed it and the overall message/theme of it.

My library has a digital copy of Little Grey Men and I immediately borrowed it.

I just finished reading all of the Sherlock books. I love them!
I did manage to read Mary Barton and A Christmas carol this Victober.
That's great! I love both of those!
Sipsworth is incredible! I’m glad you enjoyed too

I loved, Loved, LOVED Sipsworth. I talked about it in my last video earlier this week. Lovely book. 🐀
I stopped and found The Little Grey Men on Kindle. I also discovered there is a sequel, also on Kindle. Glad you had such a good reading week!
My friend mentioned that there was a sequel! I'll look for it. Thanks!
I just bought Farm to Trouble at the library. They have a sale shelf. I haven't read it yet.
great find!

If his name comes to mind, please let me know. ☺️
The Little Grey Men is great! I grew up listening to that book on cassette tape! :)
I can't believe I'd never heard of it!

I'm glad I did stick with it, too, because it surprised me. Glad it wasn't that long or I might have given up.
@@mitzireadsandwrites 🤗👍
Hey Mitzi! Tammy at Believe in Your Shelf just mentioned Sipsworth in her books about mice video. She loved it too.
It's a good one, but Sonia, with your tender heart, you'll cry! It does have a sweet ending though.

Oh, thank you thank you! It was the perfect fall read this week! Can't wait to read the next one.
Two cozy series to recommend - The Vintage Kitchen Mysteries by Victoria Hamilton and the Farmer's Market Mysteries by Paige Shelton
Oh, thanks so much! I'll look at those!
Great wrap up! I might have to give Sherlock another try because I tried Study in Scarlet and Sign of Four and just wasn't feeling it. 😅
Sipsworth sounds good. What you described sounds a bit like A Man Called Ove. I think you would enjoy it too.
Yep, someone said it was A Man Called Ove meets Ratatouille lol.
and yes, I didn't like Study in Scarlet AT ALL
I love Sherlock Holmes and am due for a re-read! I have been enjoying the cozy Lady Hardcastle mysteries recently. I think you would like them. They are cozy and funny and the two main characters are excellent!
Oh, I love Lady Hardcastle! I've only read 2 or 3 though, so I need to read more.
Hey Mitzi, I can get A Sipsworth and I plan on reading it near Thanksgiving as I heard what it was about and through it would be a good book to read and reflect on what we have😊
It's definitely a reflective one and perfect for Thanksgiving for that reason. Let me know what you think!!
I checked my library and there are a lot of books by Amanda Flower. You should check your library because there must be 30 books by her!
Really? I'll do that. Thanks!

yeah, I was surprised at how much I keep thinking about it
