So true to just go INTENSE and get rid of all the negative energy! Agree diet diet and diet in addition to exercise is the key!! 💪🏼

    • @denisekriel5892
      @denisekriel5892 4 года назад +47

@@nothanks1292 it is best to start slowly. I started with 3 x 100 skips, resting 2 days a week. After 2 months I have built up to 1500 skips 5 days a week. I do some other exercises while skipping I.e squats, lunges, crunches. I do what i feel like doing. No pressure. I have lost 6kg in 2 months but I also do intermittent fasting. Only eat lunch and supper. For me it is about feeling strong and healthy more than the figure on the scale.
Oh and some days I jump on the trampoline for 30min-1hr with music. It feels like a rest but I am buring loads of calories. I love skipping! So glad I came across Jump Rope.

This would be 20 minutes every other day with breaks in between. Guaranteed. The results will be enough to keep you motivated to continue working on to the goal, and say, Yeah definitely worth jumping into this journey 💯😉

My thighs aren't on fire, I don't need as much recovery from when I started. My nutrition needs work, mostly portions. Since I jump rope most days during lunch break, I only have 18-22 minutes of 30 to go hard. I'm sure once I get a heavy rope, my results will improve. Until then, weight loss isn't main goal here.

C John that's awesome bro. There's a staggering amount of genetic variance to be accounted for, as well. The fit of a person's pants I find to be an excellent metric, really. Although most wouldn't associate much other than pure weight lifting to attribute muscle gain, you're likely experiencing what is referred to as "newbie gains". This is to say, your muscles were at period of rest I like to think of similiarily as atrophy, and most any type of movement will attribute to muscle gain. You'll gain muscle and lose fat at the same time, brah. Can't beat it lol.

Good method to work up to an hour. Copy swimming workouts and train “on the minute.” That is, try for 100 straight jumps at the start of a minute and if you finish in 45 seconds, rest for 15 seconds until the next minute begins. This is great interval training! And takes away the boredom. If you do this with a heart rate monitor you’ll have a good idea of when you’re getting too high.
And for shock absorption I highly recommend you jump barefoot but on a thick firm portable mat like the Wolfwise trifold. That’s what I use. Sneakers on the floor aren’t enough absorption if you’re overweight or out of shape.

  • @ggarzagarcia

    Great video!
I just want to add (for newcomers to skipping or ZDF) that when you go intense, at the beginning you have to learn perfect form (the Bruce Lee quote about kicks, 1 kick practised good 10.000x). At the beginning intensity is not about speed. It's about the exertion of muscle tension and not letting up. So a person in the beginning may get tired after trying real hard, but have perfect form and not going so fast. Once form is locked down then it is important to lock in that speed and to go faster. Otherwise once injury kicks in, because of bad practise, you got "intense" for nothing.
    Thanks D&B!

I thought jump roping was going to be easy but man you have to be in good shape. Besides my weight loss already im feeling very positive and more energy throughout my day. Im getting pretty decent at the cross and learning these tricks motivates me even more so to pick up a jump rope. Not only is it a great exercise but these tricks make it fun. I have been following you guys and using your channel like my Bible. I have been shedding weight fast. 245lbs when I started, and a very jiggly 245. I started jumping rope 5 -6 months ago. I only jumped rope for 15 mins a day at first. Three 5 minute sessions. I lost about 8-10 pounds the first few weeks. Then it felt like I hit a wall. I started upping my sessions to 10 minutes twice a day and started losing the weight again. Now it's a must to keep myself at about 30 - 40 minutes a day. I do 30 minutes to an Hour of body weight exercises and walking 6km every other day. 245lbs to 195lbs in just over 5 months. I took a Picture of myself every Monday, as Dan suggests in other videos. The difference is crazy. I'm not shredded yet but V Muscle, Ab/Arm/Leg/Chest definition. The goal is in sight and it feels good lol. If your thinking of jumping rope I say do it... the JRD Boys WILL change your life if you let them. Appreciate you guys as always, see you on the next one.

Hey guys here are some weight loss data from my previous jump rope workout regime: I started at 84kg. From august to december I jumped rope 15-20 minutes plus some other cardio total workout of 30-45 mins 3-4 times a week. I even went two weeks without exercise. By 31 dec my weight was 79.9kg. This was 2016. I used a calorie counting app and kept my daily calorie intake around 1400-1500 kcal.
Gained about 2kg since then but my stamina remained so going to up the jump rope to 20mins per session. I do 5 mins consecutive jumps x4, 5 times a week from now until...my jump rope dies hehehe. I use a regular sports jump rope from Nike. When this one is dead I will get myself a speed rope and totally kill it too. Here's to being fit but fat 😂😂😂😂.

Now I can jump rope better and will progress to double under and after that maybe the criss cross. Hope I will be able to do it. It's fun since you're learning something and when you do it right. then u weight yourself, u can see that u didnt lose much. The thing that helps me that i always think that im doing something

I started jumping rope 3 weeks ago. I do 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off. I sweat buckets, for 30 minutes. My calves ache, and legs get tired. But I’m 56 and coming off a cardiac arrest that limits what exercise I could do for 2 years…. Let’s see where I’m at in 12 months.

30 days (with some days off, two on/one off, or pain break early days) and then you'll probably have another level of endurance.. 10 minutes a day. At first you will need breaks within every minute, maybe 40 secs on/20 off. Also calf muscle pains, and spine/neck pain at first. Possible stomach pains/noses from trapped gas etc. 4 years late but whatever!

Jumping rope is kind of an anomaly. It is INTENSE while you're doing it, gets your HR through the roof, burns a ton of cals, etc.. But after you're done, you recover really fast and it can be done pretty much every single day. With spinting and other forms of conditioning, you have to reduce frequency to avoid being over trained.
I jump rope for 30-35 min right out of bed first thing in the morning Mon-Sat. Then on Tu/We/Fri/Sat I'll go to the gym 4-6hrs later and lift weights for an hour. Two workouts are upper body based and two workouts are lower body based. The jump rope nearly every day has never effected my lifting workouts or hampered recovery at all.
