      Hi, the honey in this recipe is used because it has a more acidic PH and it helps the baking soda create a rise in the bread. It's not in it for sweetness. I do not recommend replacing it as the bread will be very dense.

    Hi! I made these last night and Im sorry but they were dry. They also had a very weird taste kind of like play-dough I did everything you said with the exact measurements. Is there something that may have altered the taste?

    Will coconut sugar work?

    • @ElizabethRider
      @ElizabethRider  9 месяцев назад

      Yep! Coconut Sugar will work. They might be a bit more crumbly, but it will work.

    Can you suggest a sugar free version? Thx

      You can leave the sugar out of these. They will definitely taste different, but you can leave it out of this recipe. Add 2 additional tablespoons of almond flour if you do that to make up for the weight of the sugar. ~E

    Can I substitute butter for oil?
    thanks.

      Yes, you can, but they won’t hold together as well. Butter is solid at room temp, so coconut oil or vegan butter (both solid at room temp) would be the best substitutions. :)

    Sorry, I just made them. They are very dry and kind of taste like lemon sand. I had 3 people taste them. I sifted my superfine almond flour, followed the recipe exactly and really think they need something. I don't know what. I made them (I make regular cookies for my co-workers) in hopes of giving my co-worker with celiac disease a treat. Oh well. Looking for another recipe to try.

      Hi Dee, I don't recommend sifting almond flour. That may have affected the texture.

      I don't think so as I am always instructed in every recipe to sift it so there are no large pieces of almond in it. @@ElizabethRider
