This is so utterly charming. The amount of effort that must have gone into this, as well - getting a helicopter involved and finding someone willing to pretend fall into the sea, which was still very dangerous. Of course, the fact that it's sped up means that actually filming each part took much, much longer. Bravo
Wow. I'm so impressed. Such passion and bringing within patience to do such a great and amazing work! Wow! Congs! You'd really deserved it beeing one of the 25 videos of RUclips Guggenheim!
BRILLIANT! Absolutelly brilliant! This is poetic, touching, romantic. Well written, well executed, great technique and great effort! Truly inspiring... keep up the amazing work mate! Regards from Curitiba, Brazil.
Think I first watched this around 15 years ago and it still sticks in the memory. Obviously love the artistry but also the song. I used to live in Sydney, I recognise Bare Island but where is the jetty at 2:52?! It’s been bugging me for all that time!
Hi Keith, I just wanted to connect and say thanks for the inspiration. I saw this video when you brought it out and has inspired a passion for timelapse for me - just as a social thing, and I haven't done too much or anything incredible, but coming back to this video I am even more impressed with your story and style. Thankyou and well done. It's awesome. Regards, Chris
I still don't know, but I think these are miniatures. The give-away was the saving of the drowning person (no way to video that whole thing) Still very very amazing!
This one is the best out of all the list ! Nice one ! Is this all toys made, tiny stuff? Why does it look so realistic?! Seems it's combination of lots of photo shoots !
@Maxer5ooo it is real.. its time-lapsed photos that are shot in a special way to make things look miniature (you can look up how to do it) then joined together to look like a movie.
:) this is awsome... every time i see this i try to convince myself that this is real life shot with a camera using special tehniques... but I can't help myself seeing it like a miniature model shooting... (btw I always wanted to know how did you realized water waves at model scale :))... now I know.. they are real waves... )
@dennisonearth No they're not miniatures. They just applied a blur to foreground and background to make things look small. It's been done before in some photography, and e.g. Uniqlo web campaign uniqlo(dot)com(slash)calendar
Taked my some time to get to know that those shoots are real, and not miniatures :D How is this type of footage called again? It has a special name, nor? excuse my english, i need to get into it again, after my holidays :)
15 years on and I still tear up watching this.
Es gibt viele Nachahmer doch keiner ist so gut wie Keith
Still one of my favorite videos. Thank you for making this epic masterpiece. I just shared it again with some friends.

微速度撮影もののなかで最高作に入る一本です。最初はハラハラしましたが最後はハッピーエンド、是が演出でないリアルとは驚きです。少しコマ数を増やした方がとも思いました。
This is amazing. My mind has been officially blown.

It looks like models because of the blurring effect. It's called 'Tilt Shift Photography'.
Onn no e of my favorite videos of all time. 💦
