- Today we play through my latest acquisition, a Made In Japan Jackson Dinky from 1996. Looks great, plays great, sounds great, and is rock solid with the tuning stability to boot. Rig used
Boss SD-1
Mesa Mark IV Revision A
JCM 800 4x12 loaded w/T75's
I have a MIJ Dinky in gun metal grey that i bought from a pawn shop 10 years ago. One of the best guitars I have. Total shred monster. Great tone there. I was an idiot and sold the stock EMG Hz to replace them with some UK Warman 16 gauge pups.
Cool sounds Bro 🎸💥👍
Really dialed in the chunk on this episode. Thankfully the Mark IV delivers that, and than some.
That first riff you played, is that from a Metallica song?
The first riff I played was from Testament's song Practice What You Preach.
@@thechannelforeverything2170 Thanks man! Great playing. I just modified my own dinky by putting a volume knob for the bridge in between the volume and tone pot, effectively giving me a volume volume tone setup. I gotta ask though, how hard is it getting used to the switch location? You ever accidentally turn any knobs?
Hate to tell ya, it's not from 96. That model didn't exist until the early 2000s, 2002/3ish at the earliest. Jackson serials are dumb. Still a great instrument nonetheless. Upgrade the electronics and nut and it'll be just that much sweeter.
Yo what does the lowest knob do
Is it just volume?
It was a tone knob, and a push pull boost switch.
Never was too much of a fan of it. Just kind of seemed to blow out the sound.
So that knob controls tone for both pickups and the other two knobs control tone for one pickup each
The way it's set up is it has Neck pickup volume, Bridge pickup volume, and master tone.@@lucas_m16
