  • With an all-new introduction and closing commentary by filmmaker Henry Lincoln. Almost 50 years later, the original televised documentary introducing the world to the mystery of Rennes-le-Château, the coded church of Bérenger Saunière, and the enigma that inspired "The Da Vinci Code".
In 1968, Henry Lincoln stumbled across a book about the priest of a small village who supposedly discovered a great treasure. "The Accursed Treasure" written by Gérard de Sède was inspired by information provided by Pierre Plantard and contained hidden codes and messages which immediately piqued Lincoln's interest.
As a writer of film scripts, he began researching the story and in 1971 made his first film on the subject, "The Lost Treasure of Jerusalem?" Two other films followed - "The Priest, the Painter, and the Devil" in 1974 and "The Shadow of the Templars" in 1979. Together, these Chronicle films provide the first glimpse available to the English-speaking world of the mystery of Rennes-le-Château.
Inspired by the enigma, which was rapidly becoming a phenomenon, Lincoln went on to publish the 1982 best-seller "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" with Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh. The non-fiction title followed research through the Knights Templar, the Priory of Sion, and the Merovingian kings of France, finally proposing the hypothesis that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene. In 2003, Dan Brown's novel "The Da Vinci Code" popularized and fictionalized Lincoln's research for a worldwide audience.
BUT THE STORY DIDN'T END THERE ...
Henry Lincoln continued his research and went on two write his two most important books - "The Holy Place" in 1992 and "Key to the Sacred Pattern" in 1998. These non-fiction titles never received much attention, but they presented an entirely new take on the mystery - something real, tangible, measurable, and indisputable ... something no one is talking about.
In her debut novel "The Heretic" ~ coming soon ~ Allysha Lavino presents the true discoveries of Henry Lincoln's lifetime of research into the mysteries of Rennes-le-Château. Providing a relatable and reliable overview of Lincoln's findings for the first time in fiction, Lavino explores how an ancient secret buried in code could the way we see the world.
This world is not what you think.

There were multiple sackings of Jerusalem. This was the later Roman conquest of 70AD.
When the Persians conquered Babylon they liberated the Jews and allowed them to return home with the treasures Babylon had looted and kept from the First Temple. Thus they were there again for the taking by the Romans from the Second Temple. We know the Romans actually possessed the temple treasures because they are depicted on Titus’s triumphal arch in Rome.

Interesting to pick out "trompe" among those outliers of letters in view of the plumbing of Oak Island. "Ee" suggests other letters may be picked out by some means to render eau or sel or both. Salt water trompe. The money pits at Oak Island are, essentially, a trompe.

34:07 the clue here are the shephers sticks placed again to produce another triangle, the bottom part of a pentagram perhaps highlighting the castle on the hill in the original painting. This small part of the original scene is maybe a reminder but the pointing of the shepherds could just be a distraction away from the shepherds sticks.

Is it not possible that this guy actually found the treasure within the column he said he found the parchments and simply took it to Paris bit by bit to get money for it? That would explain him becoming quite wealthy so quickly and needing to take frequent trips to Paris. Is it possible that he and the lady housekeeper already had some sort of knowledge already, that the treasure was actually hidden there in the village church? Perhaps they made the parchments up, as a cover for the treasure found, otherwise they might have had their home ransacked all the time, there was no alarms or high tech security like we have now.. It would be interesting to know the occupations of their ancestors because this might hold a clue as to whether they already knew of its whereabouts or not. Even this man's role as a priest could have been a cherade to attend the village in the first place, as it would have been less suspicious than a complete stranger turning up in this tiny place. It is an interesting story though and I am only half way through the chronicles of this gentleman so might learn more yet to sway my thoughts on this. An interesting topic non the less.

Perhaps this has something to do with astrology. The pentagram of Venus creates this shape when Venus transits over 8 years as seen from Earth. Also, Venus is called the the morning star or it can be an evening star depending on it's location to the Sun. And Satan or the devil, I don't know which, was called the beautiful morning star. I know that some people who study astrology can gamble and have a high chance of winning if they understand how the location of Venus will affect that day. It's all very complicated and I don't understand astrology but it seems they could get an astrologer to help them

The idea of the Knight's Templar protecting the pilgrims to the Holy Land is nonsense - the pilgrim trail was 2,600 miles from Dijon to Jerusalem - and this was in Medieval times, when every mile presented some danger or other - yet at the time of their presumed beginnings in Jerusalem the Knights Templar comprised only about a dozen knights. It's also revealing that whenever any of the three authors of 'The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail' are interviewed, they always answer a question with another question - in the same way as politicians do - but in their case it's to compound the sense of mystery - because that is what they are selling - mystery - one imponderable placed upon another, which encourages the reader to seek further. It's just like 'Dungeons and Dragons' - a never-ending quest with an indefinable reward at the end of it - except, of course, there is no end.

Protection not of danger, but of wealth. A nobleman could hand over his money in europe to a templar stronghold and gaining a letter which, if he made it to the holy land, allowed him to get back his wealth, minus a fee for the service. This made the templars very rich. They were housed at solomons temple where under they digged. One day they left the holy land only to return to france. A lot can be speculated. What we do know is that many private (secretive) organisations use solomonic rites to pass through ranks/degrees of knowledge. King Solomon was given great knowledge by his G-d, because he was the son of G-d's chosen king of Israël, King David. We also know he (solomon) married 300 wives and had around 700 extra women. Eventually he got seduced away from his father's beloved G-d, and constructed temples for pagan gods, and was punished for it when his son, as prophesized, saw the splitting of the kingdom. There are indications he left parts of his (secret) wisdom in stone tablets. Or they are never found, or hidden by secretive groups with prominent figures throughout history.

The Templars were no brave warrior monks, but they were murderous Aristocrats. The Order of the Temple didn't start in Jerusalem, but it started around Troyes France. Philip IV didn't get all of the Templars, most of them escaped to their base Switzerland, out of whom later on the Nazi-Templars rose. Priory of Sion has nothing to do with Zion Jerusalem; Sion is a swiss Templar's town. Etcetera. It appears that one group was allowed to escape, because of lineage connections of the Commander of the chateau, but I don't think Lincoln ever states where they went - it wasn't very relevant, it seems. But you suggest it was extremely relevant. It's true it's always specifically Sion and not Zion, but that could be just the French spelling.
