    I read Lincoln, Leighs & Baigent's "Holy Blood / Holy Grail" in my late teens in the late 80's , picked it up in a charity shop where I used to hunt for interesting books ( voracious reader back in the day and couldn't afford Waterstones or similar on my wages) , read it through a number of times as a also enjoyed historical / esoteric thrillers / mysteries , don't have enough background in comparative theology, dark age / biblical era history or the subtle nuances of early medieval literature / history but know enough that it's compelling reading. As a side note , in my mid twenties married a a US gal, lived in a very Irish/Italian Ultra Catholic neighbourhood and wanted to get married in the local church, as a C of E heretic (lol) had to meet the Padre to see if I was worthy , cutting to the chase he was a very cool, grounded ( ex Marine Padre ) and extremely well educated both in the Seminary and further, the conversation turned to spiritually and belief and by extension we got onto the context of the book and the historical / cultural context of the gospels , had 2 further "conversations" (1 of which was in the nicer local bar; he was that engaged with his "flock" lol ) , basically he didn't deny any of HBHG's assertions and we waived any requirement to attend the " Pre Cana" tutorials prior to the wedding ; had half a dozen friends get hitched in a round the time and attendance for Pre Cana was mandatory / non exempt. Should bear in mind that this was years before the Davinci Code hit and he was completely up to speed with everything I challenged and queried him on.

    There is a pathway which is the foundation for all the great faiths, which pervades each one of them, rises above them, and transcends them all and that is the pathway of Love. The pathway of love, compassion and service. Love and compassion are wonderful sentiments, well that's all they bloody well are, unless you use them as the motor for action, and the action is always in helping other people less fortunate than yourself. Martin Luther King summed it up sixty years ago when he accepted the Nobel Peace Prize and he said ‘we have learnt to fly in the air like birds, we have yet to learn to walk on the earth like brothers’ and the objective of every single spiritual pathway in history is precisely that, to stress the brotherhood of man, the unity of the human family, and for me I don't care if people are black, brown, white, yellow, some glorious mixture in between. Male or female, young or old, straight or gay, we're all part of the same family and we have a sacred duty to care for each other. All the spiritual pathways teach this, those from the East, and those from the West. _It was summed up by a modern Sufi teacher, a wonderful man called Sheikh Ragip Frager, who wrote a beautiful book about thirty years ago called ‘Love is the Wine’, which I can recommend to anybody and in it he wrote ‘Spirituality is a river that descended to earth through Adam, may God grant him peace, it was refreshed by the great prophets like Abraham and Moses and Elijah and John the Baptist and Jesus, may God grant them peace, by the great Prophet Muhammad may his name be blessed and may God grant him peace. It is a river that knows no boundaries in space or culture or time yet sadly, but understandably every race, every creed, every culture claims it for its own. My friends it is always the same river’_ So it matters very little what spiritual path you follow, because you will follow one way you'll feel comfortable. Where the terminology is familiar and the concepts are familiar, but you will be asked to develop and show means to develop exactly the same qualities of life, humility and service and love and ultimately the objective is always the same, _that is the _*_true_*_ search for the Holy Grail_

    Meroving means water or blood of ving. Ving is vin + g in the same way as king is kin + g. G means generation ( Mantong by Richard Sharpe Shaver) and is why a king is called sire or sir. A king is a seminal Man, a generator, a semite (think semen and seaman - water again). Mer is also mar as in Mars, Mary and mariner. Mars is the masculine of Aphrodite or Venus. Mer is also in merry, a water of the soul. Vin is Van, also spelt Ven, Fen, Phoen, Fan, Ban, Bhan and Bon. The Vans are the ancient custodians of the Tree of Life and are named after Van the Steadfast who was the supermortal chief of the Administration of Light here on Urantia for about 160,000 years [The Fifth Epochal Revelation published as The Urantia Book]. The Van tongue is today called Swedish [the Bock Saga]. The Vanites or Ban were wonderfully revealed by Laurence Waddell in his book "The Phoenician Origin of Britons, Scots and Anglo-Saxons". The Meroving kin, it is asserted and believed, stem from Esu of Nazareth and Mary of Magdala. Esu was of the line of Adam seemingly via Adamson, Adam and Eve's firstborn son who married the pureline Vanite supermortal princess Rata [Fifth Epochal Revelation] and gave rise to the post Adamic dynasty of kings and queens. It is that dynasty perhaps that Osireh restored in Egypt after the Great Catastrophe 12,000 years ago. Presently is the Rose Line of kingship about to reappear as announced here by Joseph Gregory Hallett ruclips.net/video/oKobBQU33xQ/видео.html

    The Evolving Symbolism of the Pentagram: A Reflection in the Spirit of Alan Watts In the vast tapestry of human history and consciousness, symbols are not static entities; they flow, evolve, and transform, much like the ever-changing river of life that philosopher Alan Watts often spoke of. The pentagram, a five-pointed star enclosed by a circle, is no exception. Its meaning has been as fluid as the cultures, minds, and eras that have interacted with it. Alan Watts, with his profound insights into Eastern and Western philosophies, often emphasized the interconnectedness of all things and the impermanence of life. In this light, the pentagram can be seen not as a fixed symbol but as a reflection of humanity's evolving understanding of the universe and our place within it. Ancient Roots: In its earliest incarnations, the pentagram was a symbol of health and protection in various ancient cultures. The Pythagoreans of ancient Greece saw it as a symbol of perfection and harmony, representing the intertwining of the earthly and the divine. Medieval Interpretations: As time flowed, the pentagram found its way into medieval Christian symbolism, representing the five wounds of Christ. It was a symbol of sacrifice, divinity, and the sacred mysteries of life. Modern Contexts: In more recent times, the pentagram has been embraced by neopagan and Wiccan traditions as a representation of the elements and the interconnectedness of life forces. Yet, in popular culture, it has also been, at times, misunderstood or misused as a symbol of the occult or the "dark arts." In the spirit of Alan Watts, one might argue that the pentagram's shifting meanings are a testament to the fluid nature of human understanding and interpretation. Just as Watts believed that life is a dance and that we are all both observers and participants, the pentagram dances through time, reflecting the ever-changing melodies of human belief, fear, hope, and aspiration. In today's globalized, interconnected world, the pentagram can be a reminder of the unity in diversity, the interconnectedness of all things, and the ever-evolving nature of truth. As Watts might suggest, it's not about pinning down a fixed meaning but about embracing the journey of understanding, the dance of life in which we are all engaged. In conclusion, the pentagram, like all symbols, is a mirror of the human psyche, reflecting our evolving understanding, beliefs, and fears. In the words of Alan Watts, "The meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain and so obvious and so simple. And yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves." Perhaps, in the pentagram, we see a reflection of this eternal dance of seeking, understanding, and evolving.

      There were multiple sackings of Jerusalem. This was the later Roman conquest of 70AD. When the Persians conquered Babylon they liberated the Jews and allowed them to return home with the treasures Babylon had looted and kept from the First Temple. Thus they were there again for the taking by the Romans from the Second Temple. We know the Romans actually possessed the temple treasures because they are depicted on Titus’s triumphal arch in Rome.

    There is a glossed-over jump here at 32:29 - 'henceforth it was to be known as the Priory of Sion' - by whom? - and who drew up this genealogy of its 'Grand Masters'? Who selected Isaac Newton, Debussy - et al.? What was its function? And if these are 'Grand Masters', who are the people forming the group that owes them allegiance and obedience? A 'Grand Master' must have people to be masterful over - including other 'masters' of lower rank. The current 'Priory' has been exposed as a hoax recently. The academic (and otherwise) pursuit of secret societies has swallowed up a host of thinkers/academics/intellectuals/cranks. It's a never-ending morass, sucking you in and never letting you go. It's biologically impossible for one human being to have overseen a 'conspiracy', or whatever it needs to be called, over the centuries that have passed since the crusades in the 11th Century. It is also so unlikely as to be impossible that one body of people could have given rise to successive generations that would have tended this 'sacred flame', in its initial form, until the present day. You could object by saying that the same is true about the Catholic Church - but they are not a 'secret society', and they have been bolstered up publicly by the adherence of billions through the ages, and have undergone huge changes, scandals etc. - whereas this is supposed to be a very select, secret 'society', ideally committed to an eternal, immutable faith - but prone, nevertheless, to the myriad hazards of mutable existence that all generations face. This whole 'quest' always brings you back to the question 'Where did Sauniere get his money from?' Was it a pay-off because he discovered something that was an embarassment to, or an undermining of, the Christian faith , or the Catholic Church? The 'Treasure of Solomon' would, despite its spritual heritage, still have been material riches, in some form or another. So if this 'treasure' was, instead, a secret - what could be so devastating about it that the priest, who did the final confession for Sauniere, left (as the story goes) a shaken, broken man? One idea that suggests itself is that Mary Magdalen came to France after the crucifiction not only with her child - fathered by Jesus - but also with Jesus himself. This would mean that, as he didn't die on the cross, then there was no resurrection or ascension. This would be a huge 'secret', and would destroy the essential tenet of the Christian faith - that Christ died for our sins as a manifestation of the love of God for mankind, yet rose again as a promise of eternal life to all who follow the Christian faith. However, the question still remains - how could this secret be transformed into wealth? Why would the Church bribe Sauniere not to reveal it? It would have been more likely to have done away with him - and even if he had 'revealed' it in some way, then he would have been dismissed as a crank and sacked as a priest, thus becoming even poorer than he was before.

    The downfall of the Knights Templar with the invasion and seizure of their commanderies throughout France and the mass arrest of the Knights Templar on Friday, October 13th, 1307 was a clear act of robbery on the part of the French king. But the French king's hopes of getting his hands on the wealth of the Knights Templar went unrealized. What happened to the immense treasure of the Knights Templar? Why was it not found? Where did it go? Strange! Mysterious! Most peculiar! Fourteenth-century France was a strange, mysterious, peculiar place.

  • @RobCarmina
    @RobCarmina Год назад

    The idea of the Knight's Templar protecting the pilgrims to the Holy Land is nonsense - the pilgrim trail was 2,600 miles from Dijon to Jerusalem - and this was in Medieval times, when every mile presented some danger or other - yet at the time of their presumed beginnings in Jerusalem the Knights Templar comprised only about a dozen knights. It's also revealing that whenever any of the three authors of 'The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail' are interviewed, they always answer a question with another question - in the same way as politicians do - but in their case it's to compound the sense of mystery - because that is what they are selling - mystery - one imponderable placed upon another, which encourages the reader to seek further. It's just like 'Dungeons and Dragons' - a never-ending quest with an indefinable reward at the end of it - except, of course, there is no end.

    • @rapidloving
      @rapidloving 10 месяцев назад

      Protection not of danger, but of wealth. A nobleman could hand over his money in europe to a templar stronghold and gaining a letter which, if he made it to the holy land, allowed him to get back his wealth, minus a fee for the service. This made the templars very rich. They were housed at solomons temple where under they digged. One day they left the holy land only to return to france. A lot can be speculated. What we do know is that many private (secretive) organisations use solomonic rites to pass through ranks/degrees of knowledge. King Solomon was given great knowledge by his G-d, because he was the son of G-d's chosen king of Israël, King David. We also know he (solomon) married 300 wives and had around 700 extra women. Eventually he got seduced away from his father's beloved G-d, and constructed temples for pagan gods, and was punished for it when his son, as prophesized, saw the splitting of the kingdom. There are indications he left parts of his (secret) wisdom in stone tablets. Or they are never found, or hidden by secretive groups with prominent figures throughout history.
