I'm suffering through the same things and I am searching for my choices other than big bulky dentures. She was definitely "nervous talking" waiting for it to start. Well done her. I've been lucky, at over 60 years old with good teeth. Regular visits to the dentist and an aversion to sugar and soft drinks probably helped, but that doesn't mean you won't have a problem either. My younger brother with a similar diet to mine had to get implants. It's the luck of the draw to some extent. You're doing great work. It's very interesting to see how dental technologies are changing people's lives. 😊

PLEASE HELP ME!!! I didn't brush my teeth until I went to prison in my 20's. From 16-32 I used drugs that don't help w/keeping teeth together... I had a paradigm shift almost 7 years ago, completely changing my life. I haven't smiled in so many years I lost count. This mouth lives rent free in my head 24/7... Yes. Every patient we see has some level of bone loss. It is possible that a patient can lose so much bone that they are no longer a candidate, but we are able to treat the vast majority of patients we see.

Did you go to school for this? Do you have the overhead? Do you have the costs to purchase the implants, the abutments, the lab bills that the Dr. gets? Go ahead and go abroad. When shit fails don’t show up at a oral surgeons office to now bail you out. Add up the costs of having to go back and forth. You get one shot to get this right for the sake of the PATIENT!! Nice work. Does food get above the teeth between the gum? Is there eventually when healing, gum shrinkage that will leave a space/gap between gum and teeth? What regular check ups, or maintenance is required?
Food particles can get stuck almost anywhere, which is why we recommend patients brush and floss daily. A water flosser can remove most stuff between the gums and tissue. Gum changes will mostly depend on the patient's hygiene and habits, but for most patients that are brushing and flossing, they don't have any problems. The maintenance is the same as your natural teeth: standard brushing and flossing along with regular hygiene cleanings and exams.
Is the gum part of the prosthetic which touches the natural gum concave, or convex. If it is convex it is better for flossing, but if it is concave flossing can not clean inside the prosthetic.
The small piece of teflon is used to protect the screw threads and is encapsulated inside of the zirconia bridges when the access holes are filled. This means that if the patient ever has an issue and needs to have their bridges removed, the dentist can easily access the screw threads and remove the bridge. It has not negative affect on the patient or their health.
At the end of the day these are just 3 (or 4 in this case) 4 unit zirconia or titanium bridges on 2 implants each. I'm in the UK and looking at doing this in stages as I currently need my lower right side sorted out, and maybe the left. I already have cantilevered 2 unit bridges from upper canines to first lateral incisors on the largest Straumann implants. I do wonder why no one seems to offer the full 16 teeth per arch, in 4 units, fully back onto the wisdom teeth (subject to sinus space). Ask a good implantogist.
Gums naturally recede with age. Does this cause any problems over the years? And, will these still look natural? Is it possible to end up wirh a gap between the gums and teeth? Also, how does someone clean between the teeth and gums... especially in the back?! Maybe a Waterpic?
Cleaning is done with regular brushing, flossing, and water flossing. Anything is possible and everyone's biology and health are different, but for patients that have good oral hygiene and health, they generally won't experience any problems. The nice thing about the 3 on 6 is that in the event that a gap were to develop, a single bridge could be remade to fill in the gap. This is much more cost effective than a full All-on-X prosthesis having to be replaced.

I had so many issues that were not able to been on the surface level and was so tired of infections and pain I couldn’t stand the thought of going back and forth anymore to the dentist and spending thousands of dollars to keep fixing them and still be miserable. I really wish I had discovered this before I had all on 6 teeth. I am close to the final bottom teeth but am disappointed in the overall finish. Sadly too late now.
OMG what an amazing feeling you must be feeling. Im so happy for you. Maybe one day ill get my smile back. How amazing it must be to be able to eat just about anything you want, i joke and say i can eat anything I want to as long as I don't have to bite it or chew it. I still have 10 teeth on the bottom (if you want to call what i have teeth) had the top ones pull right when covid hit and it was the worse thing ive ever done, a couple thousand dollars later and now I have denture that want stay in, hurt and i talk funny. I dont eat around people im started to just stay home. After my father and husband past away in 2018 i dont smile at very many people. I do miss being happy. Yes. Every patient we see has some level of bone loss. It is possible that a patient can lose so much bone that they are no longer a candidate, but we are able to treat the vast majority of patients we see.
Prices in the U.S. are insane for something that shouldn't justify anywhere near the cost they rip people off on regardless what spin they give for it.

This was 9 months ago. I wonder how she’s doing now? I stumbled upon a RUclips video. A news station in Az that said that 88% don’t work out. People complaining about them. That thousands upon thousand are finding their gums are rejecting the implant. They fall out etc. I’m terrified now to get them. I have the same genetic problems as she has. Ugh! So hard to know what to do. I live in Utah and would consider this but this has scared me.

Nice work. Does food get above the teeth between the gum? Is there eventually when healing, gum shrinkage that will leave a space/gap between gum and teeth?
What regular check ups, or maintenance is required?
Food particles can get stuck almost anywhere, which is why we recommend patients brush and floss daily. A water flosser can remove most stuff between the gums and tissue. Gum changes will mostly depend on the patient's hygiene and habits, but for most patients that are brushing and flossing, they don't have any problems. The maintenance is the same as your natural teeth: standard brushing and flossing along with regular hygiene cleanings and exams.
Is the gum part of the prosthetic which touches the natural gum concave, or convex. If it is convex it is better for flossing, but if it is concave flossing can not clean inside the prosthetic.

Teflon? Permanently in the mouth?
The small piece of teflon is used to protect the screw threads and is encapsulated inside of the zirconia bridges when the access holes are filled. This means that if the patient ever has an issue and needs to have their bridges removed, the dentist can easily access the screw threads and remove the bridge. It has not negative affect on the patient or their health.

At the end of the day these are just 3 (or 4 in this case) 4 unit zirconia or titanium bridges on 2 implants each. I'm in the UK and looking at doing this in stages as I currently need my lower right side sorted out, and maybe the left. I already have cantilevered 2 unit bridges from upper canines to first lateral incisors on the largest Straumann implants. I do wonder why no one seems to offer the full 16 teeth per arch, in 4 units, fully back onto the wisdom teeth (subject to sinus space). Ask a good implantogist.
Gums naturally recede with age. Does this cause any problems over the years? And, will these still look natural? Is it possible to end up wirh a gap between the gums and teeth? Also, how does someone clean between the teeth and gums... especially in the back?! Maybe a Waterpic?
Cleaning is done with regular brushing, flossing, and water flossing. Anything is possible and everyone's biology and health are different, but for patients that have good oral hygiene and health, they generally won't experience any problems. The nice thing about the 3 on 6 is that in the event that a gap were to develop, a single bridge could be remade to fill in the gap. This is much more cost effective than a full All-on-X prosthesis having to be replaced.
They build your gums using tissue/bone grafting to help prevent this. I’m 2 years in and have had zero issues.

Often what look like healthy teeth actually have severe problems which can only be seen in a full exam. They can look healthy but be causing pain and will fall out on their own very soon. There are also dozens of other factors to consider, like the pain or increased treatment costs of letting the teeth to continue to fail until they simply fall out of the patient's mouth.

I had so many issues that were not able to been on the surface level and was so tired of infections and pain I couldn’t stand the thought of going back and forth anymore to the dentist and spending thousands of dollars to keep fixing them and still be miserable. Also, the front left was a crown and right was a bonded tooth.
I am so jealous 😢wish I could afford them I wish they could make them affordable here in south Africa I wish there was a 3 on six here in south Africa and could help the people that can't afford them the benefit of getting them too heartbreaking too see people with such amazing smile and u can only wear dentures I hate dentures the worst thing in the world I pray to God that I can have a smile like that one day 😢
