Arg! The look that he gave her. This look. When she looks to the other guy, not knowing what to do. And at this moment, he looks at her, just for a second, screaming in silence "you know me. Look at me. Its me. Just you and me". And when she met his gaze, he knows that he wins, in a way. I could talk about that video for so long. And the music! Thank you so much Keaton Henson for delivering so much emotions and so well done! The dancer is amazing to. You can feel, just when he is alone walking, and against that wall, all that rage, and above all the heartache! You can see so obviously this broken heart fighting between his heart and his brain, not knowing what to do, what is the best. If he wants to let go of her or go to her. The dancer is so expressif within fractions of seconds, that's heartbreaking ! He is just walking, and yet you can see him fighting all this big storm of emotions he is feeling. The doubt. The anger. The love. The heartbreack. The indecision. The resolution. He seems a little scary, not giving a sh*t about people on his way, he seems to be just an angry guy. But look at his eyes, its tell you everything. All the sorrow. And when he finally faces her, see the transformtion of his demeanor, the softness in his gaze, because all he wants it's show her that he loves her. She fights him first, but she finally grips him, like, one last time. He wants something, a closure to what they were, what they mean for each other. That's just my interpretation, what I feel and understand when I watched it. Thank you again Keaton Henson !
The short features a powerful, highly-charged performance from BalletBoyz dancer Matthew Rees: “Healah Dancing suggested to me the heartache and frustration of losing someone you couldn’t live without,” Rees said of his performance. “I didn’t think over the role too much: I just wanted it to be raw in the moment.” The concept for the song, which is fiercely emotive, draws on the idea of someone you love slowly drifting out of your life.
Ahh that's such a nice story and idea, personally when I saw it I got the impression of a destructive person who steals away a girl, leads her on what she thinks is an endless dance, an endless love, then leaves her broken, on her knees, irregardless of how it is interpreted it is both an exceptionally beautiful song and performance by Henson and Lees :) I could watch it all day, it has such a sad, captivating beauty
Alex Hey I believe that she actually left him for another man by "mistake"... He had taken her for granted and that drew her into another mans arms. The guilt she has towards her ex partner is sooo strong and she's asking for forgiveness. He wants to forgive her. They are still madly inlove with each other but he just can't... forgive... her... This song, this video, everything is fucking perfect!!!! Also I like your idea of what happened...
Slick! I love your idea too, it's so nice to have intelligent discussion about interpretation on RUclips, I think the beauty of this piece is that it's open to it, I can't get over it... It's so perfect, so beautiful and heart wrenching, you can feel the emotion put into the creation of it
I can see it...His stance, in the first minute and half screamed emotional turmoil. Not just the music, but...The stress moves. As silly as it sounds. When things have gotten rough in relationships for me...Those just stood out plain as day. It's obvious he's wrestling with his head, his heart. So when everything built, damn. It was just perfect. Possibly it's subjective. But I took from it the struggle within himself and the relationship he used to have even before the woman popped on the screen I could almost see her in his turmoil. Like he's wrestling if he should try to got back to her. Going over the reasons why he's better off with her, without her, with her, without her. A bit how she's better with him, without him. Ect...As if the whole scene with her is more his thoughts as he continues on a directionless walk. His body screaming at him while his mind drives him on, forcing him to keep moving otherwise his thoughts won't come to an end. No point to this internal ranting and railing. Or maybe I'm just impressing my own past experiences on this. But that's what I saw, a man fighting himself and his choices. Yet deciding to remain firm, leaving the past behind him and moving on. Hopefully a little stronger, even though he feels kind of weak. And beaten.
How can you leave someone if you already felt alone in the relationship to begin with?? It's like being stuck in a paradox... Every other year he comes back to me... every other year I think I can handle it. At least I have my loft and Keaton, so grateful to my girlfriend for showing me this beautifully talented artist. I would marry her instead, if we were lesbians...
His final reaction is not about strength, it's about self-protection.She is just a disappointment. And he must leave only to save himself from completely falling apart. This is how you learn to be cold and alone. And sad. Some people call that misery, others call it wisdom. And to me it's all the same
My initial take on it was that she left him and he was heart-broken. He went back and ''showed'' her what she was missing and that she may never be loved in the way he loved her.... and just as she realises this, he lets her drop and leaves....(making her feel hurt, too). It's like he's saying, ''see? you could have had so much of everything but you ruined it for yourself and now that you realise this, i can move on.....'' It's beautiful.
+Elaine M Yes, Elaine. I believe you have it. This is the first time I've ever viewed this extraordinary work. I cried bitter, languid tears as I was absorbed into the music and images. Remembering every lost love in my life.
that's always the delusion of the heartbroken man... they think that after a woman has already pulled away, she'll suddenly realize her love for him and come crawling back. no woman on this earth would ever do such a silly thing.
Pessoa...I'll assume you're a woman by your screen name or real name. Unsure as to which. I partially agree with you, in that my experience with women, both personally and friends of mine (women) has taught me that those women who have definitively fallen out of love with a man, never go back. Ever. But not all women break off relationships because they've fallen out of love. Some have had men break up with them. Men with whom they are still in love, and often remain so for some time. Other women break up with someone they love but can't live with for a variety of very good reasons. Others still, break up with men whose lack of ability to connect emotionally or engender true intimacy, is an issue they can't overcome, even though they may love that man on a deep level. Women are often far more practical then men in just about every arena. Especially, when it comes to love and relationships. Most women know when to cut bait and run. It is my opinion, that men are often the true rromanticists in most relationships. Note the semantics. And women are the practical healers, hearth-makers, and nurturers. Women get down to the business of living. Their idea of love is as varied as the emotional planes in which women exist. More emotional planes than men have the ability to connect with. This video is so painful for me to watch. Yet I watch it often and rue the many past mistakes I made with women. One, in particular, who remains the love of my life and she's lost to me, forever. I can blame no one but myself. And this gorgeous, haunting, painfully relevant work of art reminds me mercilessly of that fact. And still, I come back.
Basically just his song "Not That You'd Even Notice" "Not That You'd Even Notice" I won't see til you come back I won't sing til you know that And it won't be long Til you know my songs Then I'll know, and you'll come back I won't move til you love me I won't dance til you hold me And it won't be long Til you know my songs Then you'll know, and you'll come back And I won't see a light til you come back to me And I won't feel a breeze til I hear your housekey And I won't hear a sound til you fall to my knees, Saying, "Please, don't leave me" I won't breath til you're with me And my heart won't beat, Lord forbid me And it won't be long Til you hear this song And you'll turn to me And I won't see a light til you come back to me And I won't feel a breeze til I hear your housekey And I won't hear a sound til you fall to my knees, Saying, "Please, don't leave me" Saying, "Please, don't leave me" And I'll leave you, Marie With your bags at your feet And your frame dropped to your knees I think we'll be even then, don't you agree? I think we'll be even then, don't you agree? Yeah, I think we'll be even then, don't you agree?
The anger he has in the beginning I thought this was going somewhere sinister, then the tenderness. It is like when he sees her all the rage just evaporates. I think it shows the madness of love yet the tenderness and fragility of it as well, such a stunning video...Bravo Keaton! You blow me away yet again.
this whole album is an absolute masterpiece and everytime I hear this song I'm close to tears, an album that should be up there with some of the greats, this album will make you feel things you have never felt
To help with the interpretation of the video, it might help to pronounce Healah like "healer". This video captures the pain this man must force into his lover in order to move on from it himself. She becomes his " healah " by perpetuating the suffering that initially plagues the protagonist. The irony of this title, then, is in the surrogacy of positive healing that follows a poor relationship. All loss and heartache is simply transferred, not ended.
This moved me to tears. He's so overwhelmed with emotion in the beginning he literally cannot help it coming through his physical being. So powerful and beautiful!!
All of the actors in Keaton’s music videos are amazing. Like this one and the woman in You Don’t Know How Lucky You Are. They can convey such strong emotions through minimal and simple actions and very few shots.
I don't see abuse here but rather hurt. Maybe some one was unfaithful and he has to have one last dance with her to really let go. Their dance is lyrical and full of love but he gives up and leaves.
Mmh to let go? Maybe but in the end he came back to hurt her he took her from the other one showed her he loved her than when she was attached with a disgusted face he left her ..
I don't think it was a literal dance. I think it was more of a representation of the relationship they had. The passion they had for one another, the love they felt for one another, the hurt they felt (she pushed him away, then he pushed her away), and the pain of knowing that despite their strong feelings, it will never work out.
Totally agree. He has deep feelings for her and is just intent on letting her her that and then letting go. You can see it when he lifts her and she grabs him and holds him. Keaton has done a play about "Young men" and the music I have heard from that is equally emotional and heart wrenching. The play is about war and the same dancer, the male dancer in this video from Balletboyz, is in that play. I have tried to get the music from that and download it but it's not available to me yet. But I still think the "dance" they did in this video was beautiful. I don't think he left her with a "disgusted" look I think it was deep sorrow that he could love her so strongly but like Christina says "it will never work out". Love like that hurts.
When he holds her hands he's extremely gentle and careful. Physically it doesn't look like he is hurting her. Yet, it's clear that he manipulates her into dancing with him. This shows that an abusive relationship isn't always rough and coarse as one would think it to be. Emotional abuse and manipulation can also spring from what appears to be careful and graceful but is actually vert toxic. Sometimes both of the people aren't even aware of it. In the end, when she falls on him, I think that leaning or depending on him doesn't come from love but from her weakness to resist the things that harm her. He too knows that he came to show her what she was losing and then leaves her - to hurt her. Basically all the tenderness and serenity doesn't necesaarily mean something good. That's what I understand from this.
Here's something interesting. I was playing Keaton Henson's songs with ads between each one, whilst writing(songwriter) and because i had Outlook on as i was writing and sending a piece of work off by email, i heard an advert with a beautiful piece of music on it(i couldn't see the other screen), so i left it playing. On the advert music went in the background as i continued to write when suddenly i thought.."jeez, that's a long ad" and decided to check out who the piece of music was by(as it was bloody beeeautiful) and....... .....I WAS ALREADY ON ONE OF KEATON HENSON'S OTHER WORKS OF ART....without his voice. WOW....right up there..absolutely beautiful brother.
Great performance of a guy in two minds. Hiding his true feelings for her. Fell of regret, fear and anger. I can connect with the emotion in a profound way thank you for this... Its the battle of a relationship both want it but neither can do it...
I have recently become a fan of Keaton. Such emotion and has a style of his own and so expressive . Many years ago I was trained ice dancer, and wished I had taken up ballet
My interpretation is that he hurt and he's angry she hurt him and when he finally made her realize what she had done or who he was she wanted him back like he wanted her in the beginning but at the same time he realized how wrong it was and couldn't let it happen
wow. this is so good without any words. no singing. just the melody. as ive heard it for the first time ive just been thinking: "please keaton - dont sing". and there we have pure perfection. love it.
Okay Okay here is my interpretation. I'm a few years late but I just found this wonderful artist and am currently binge watching all his videos. I think the woman is already committed to somebody, maybe even married to them. Although her marriage is "good", it's "in her comfort zone" and she doesn't feel passion and love towards her husband anymore. The man(dancer) loves her and he is angry at the beginning that she already belongs to another, so he goes and tries to show her that what they have is worth her leaving her husband. She loves him too but is also loyal to her husband (notice how she keeps looking at her husband as they dance). They dance and it's clear that they both have very strong feeling for one another, but the women knows what she is doing is wrong and she always tries to keep her distance from this man(dancer) even though it hurts her. At the end the man realizes that she will not leave her husband, and he get's disappointed and leaves, intending never to return again. He tried to show her a better life full of emotion, but her heart was too good and her conscience was too pure that she couldn't leave her husband, who never wronged her or hurt her, even though she wasn't completely happy with him(husband).
I don't know, we all would have our own interpretations BUT the music is past beautiful and the dance is is too. Just enjoy and read what you like into it.
What it looks like to me, is that he left her and she was broken for a while, she finally moved on and then suddenly, seeing her with another man made him regret it and want her back. When he walked in the little cafe and she saw him she looked a little shocked and scared, dhe was so hesitant about taking him back, eventually she finally accepted it and fell head over heels again in love. Then he decided "I dont want her anymore." And left.
This is how I see it: He is angry and sad and he's looking for something, for someone to make it feels more fun. Obviously she is not interested but he insist and for a second they feel this connection which is at this moment he disconnects and realize he is still looking for something else
In my opinion theres not violence in this video the guy grabs the womans hand very softly and without hurting her (he calms down and starts dancing with her like starting the conversation) and then he just shows her his pain and sadness and she resists at first but then she hugs him... its like after all the anger and pain they feel they just say goodbye and she lays in the ground and hes gone... *such an emotional video and song beautiful*
In my interpretation: He loved her in a desperate, strong and yet delicate and sweet way, he did everything to show his love to her anyway, but she rejected him. When she finally wanted him, he had given up. This video is deep, sensitive, violent and smooth like everything Keaton Henson produces and it's amazing how he can maintain a balance in these 4 characteristics. Really an inspiration! Thank you for this work of art!
This simply made my day... oh my god! I love this video and this song as well............ I am gonna spam all over social media in order to make people see what real music is !
Losing the person you love the most is the most painful thing that can happen to you. Thank you Keaton for this masterpiece. Thank you. I probably am heading to my own doom and yet I want this song to be played by my bedside when I cut myself into pieces.
I'm really young. I'm only 15 but I will tell you what I see. I see a man who has been hurt by this women. Who maybe left him for another guy, as she was talking to a guy before he walked in, but maybe it was just a friend~He wanted her to dance with him. I think he wanted to get her to feel some sort of love, or caring nature towards him for a moment. She falls down to the ground as if to ask him to stay or to say sorry, but he drops her hands and leaves, showing her what kind of pain she inflicted on him. As if to say, this is what you've done to me, and i hope you realize how bad you hurt me, but now I can move on, stronger than before" He felt pain and heard break and anger, I don't view it as abuse the way people are proposing. It really is a beautiful song, and video that make me emotional everytime. Sometimes the most beautiful songs, are those without lyrics.
I love so much this song , make me feel love and alone. I get this like and story of unlove. The boy just end up his relationship with this girl , but he think that isnt end so he look at her. When he found her , he tried to convinced her that stay together , but she just don't feel comfortable anymore. In the end she like said somethig to him , like a confession. Maybe she cheat on him in the lapse of time that they arent together. So thats when he stop loving her , for the betray and just leave.
This is beautiful, they loved each other so much, he wanted her and showed her that he was crazy for her, and so she realized she loved him too, but at the end he dont knows what to do. To hold her hands or let her go?. He finally decides to let her go...
I totally love this video. The emotion and intensity is mesmerising. I’ve never seen anything that has captivated me more than this. Thank you for an amazingly powerful piece of work.
His music touch so harly bad in my heart, I love this artist, the way he is it´s what makes him one of the best artist for me and I will remember him for the rest of my life PD/ I cry every time i hear his songs :')
Me encanta, pienso que es lo más acertado a ese sentimiento, es maravilloso como puedes sentir esa musica y sentirte tan identificado, este actor merece muchisimo más y esa musica, esa musica está acabando conmigo, es realmente hermosa ❤
Lovely haunting music and heartfelt choreography. This is Florence Hawkins' first role and she gives a beautiful and moving performance. She should be very proud of herself.
I am in love with this song tonight, I imagine that the song grows, grows and grows until it barely reaches heaven with its hands 4:00, and smoothly falls down as remembers the steamy texture of a lost dream 4:15
My interpretation was that they were trying to defy social construct of the way we look at people. The stereotypical hard man, tattoos, rolled up sleeves and angry expressions was hurt by the gentle, soft looking brunette. He had all the pain from what I imagine was the end of a relationship and he needed to be held by her. When she refused, he relentlessly tried to make her see and finally passed all of his pain and hurting onto her, lets her fall and leaves. He moved on leaving her wondering how she could ever let him go. Beautiful. Tears with no lyrics from Keaton Henson
I felt love, frustration, obsesion. He is sad, angry, alone. He know her. Looks for her. Find Her. Take away from her actual relationship. Insists until he reconquest her. But, for the weight of their story, his Hate beat his Love. Some kind of "revenge" that he was not looking for. In the end, two hearts broken, more frustration, and a lost man. sorry for my english.
I swear, at 2.25 when he grab her wrists, but imediatly changed to a gentle touch, I imagined them making a performatic dancing to show us their feelings, because of the changing of tone (from agressive to careful, and the type of music, of course). I was not disappointed at all.
I love how his facial expressions constantly shift between anger, desperation, sadness
This 5 minute video has more to say than a typical 2 hour movie. Deep, Amazing..
No words needed to make me cry. Keaton you are magic.
Arg! The look that he gave her. This look. When she looks to the other guy, not knowing what to do. And at this moment, he looks at her, just for a second, screaming in silence "you know me. Look at me. Its me. Just you and me". And when she met his gaze, he knows that he wins, in a way.

agree
OMG you just described this xctly how i feel it.

so much emotion. not even a single word was needed. thank you keaton.
made me cry. in a beautiful way.

everything this man touches is art
Basically just his song "Not That You'd Even Notice"
"Not That You'd Even Notice"
I won't see til you come back
I won't sing til you know that
And it won't be long
Til you know my songs
Then I'll know, and you'll come back
I won't move til you love me
I won't dance til you hold me
And it won't be long
Til you know my songs
Then you'll know, and you'll come back
And I won't see a light til you come back to me
And I won't feel a breeze til I hear your housekey
And I won't hear a sound til you fall to my knees,
Saying, "Please, don't leave me"
I won't breath til you're with me
And my heart won't beat, Lord forbid me
And it won't be long
Til you hear this song
And you'll turn to me
And I won't see a light til you come back to me
And I won't feel a breeze til I hear your housekey
And I won't hear a sound til you fall to my knees,
Saying, "Please, don't leave me"
Saying, "Please, don't leave me"
And I'll leave you, Marie
With your bags at your feet
And your frame dropped to your knees
I think we'll be even then, don't you agree?
I think we'll be even then, don't you agree?
Yeah, I think we'll be even then, don't you agree?
I didnt notice :o the lyrics are perfect for this *.*
For me this is what Art its all about. No need for explanations, descriptions, lyrics... you just feel it.
Masterpiece!
The anger he has in the beginning I thought this was going somewhere sinister, then the tenderness. It is like when he sees her all the rage just evaporates. his eyebrows are on point
this whole album is an absolute masterpiece and everytime I hear this song I'm close to tears, an album that should be up there with some of the greats, this album will make you feel things you have never felt

The art, beauty and meaning that Keaton carries within himself
i cant explain how i feel about this, its so perfect.
This moved me to tears. He's so overwhelmed with emotion in the beginning he literally cannot help it coming through his physical being. So powerful and beautiful!!
so beautiful its unbelievable, truly incredible how music can touch so many people's hearts
This is the most beautiful song in the world.
-Spanish Keaton Henson.
Hola.
Principalmente quisiera agradecerte. Gracias por todo.
Gracias. Eres el mejor.
Keaton Henson is used to touch our hearts in this singular way...
All of the actors in Keaton’s music videos are amazing. Like this one and the woman in You Don’t Know How Lucky You Are. They can convey such strong emotions through minimal and simple actions and very few shots.

You make sense.
Imho, the best song from Keaton. Masterpiece.
Its the battle of a relationship both want it but neither can do it...
my favorite of romantic works ♡♡♡
I keep coming back here... over and over. Because I see myself in it.
The feeling in the pit of my stomach. It’s a familiar hope drowned out by sorrow and despair.
...and everything
I have recently become a fan of Keaton. Such emotion and has a style of his own and so expressive . Many years ago I was trained ice dancer, and wished I had taken up ballet
My interpretation is that he hurt and he's angry she hurt him and when he finally made her realize what she had done or who he was she wanted him back like he wanted her in the beginning but at the same time he realized how wrong it was and couldn't let it happen
What a beautiful piece of art. Music,video,performances.....amazing.
Wow - that just broke me. So strong, so much depth... it hurts.
wow. this is so good without any words. no singing. just the melody. as ive heard it for the first time ive just been thinking: "please keaton - dont sing". and there we have pure perfection. love it.
Holy shit,... my heart
Necesitamos más de esta medolia, es arte pura, grandioso.
OMG, this music is so beautiful I cry!
I don't know, we all would have our own interpretations BUT the music is past beautiful and the dance is is too. Just enjoy and read what you like into it.
Brought tears to my eyes. This is beautiful.
When my best friend died i walked like him through the streets of my town and i can't remember how i could breath but i did
Casperqueen Sorry that you got something like this, I hope you’re fine now💜✨
Just when she finally got out, he forced her back to the place he now found himself stuck in....heartbreaking
Andrea van der Colff wrong.
Plain gorgeous, especially it's simplicity, These are talented artists keep it coming.
Creators of this video, you guys inspire everything that I do.
This is the most beautiful masterpiece of
Raw emotion I can’t get enough
how can you not like this..it's impossible
Broken soul... my soul.
Same....
Then he decided "I dont want her anymore." And left.
yes! unlike what the other posters said. i believe you are on point
2:33 "Look me in the eyes, look what you've done to me."
This was my introduction to Keaton Henson and balletboys. It’s left an everlasting impression on me.
man just the walk to the house was already filled with so many emotions. kudos to the actor!
This is how I see it: He is angry and sad and he's looking for something, for someone to make it feels more fun. Obviously she is not interested but he insist and for a second they feel this connection which is at this moment he disconnects and realize he is still looking for something else
I just changed my mind. Now I see him as her subconscious. How it feels for her to move on. I don't know, I like the way you see it too.
luv this song. its so beautiful. it doesn't need words to express the emotions felt here
I love this song so so much ♡
That was recklessly beautiful
In my opinion theres not violence in this video the guy grabs the womans hand very softly and without hurting her (he calms down and starts dancing with her like starting the conversation) and then he just shows her his pain and sadness and she resists at first but then she hugs him... its like after all the anger and pain they feel they just say goodbye and she lays in the ground and hes gone...
*such an emotional video and song beautiful*
In my interpretation:
He loved her in a desperate, strong and yet delicate and sweet way, he did everything to show his love to her anyway, but she rejected him.
I can't stop thinking about this
this right here is a piece of art
Losing the person you love the most is the most painful thing that can happen to you. Thank you Keaton for this masterpiece. Thank you. I probably am heading to my own doom and yet I want this song to be played by my bedside when I cut myself into pieces.
Only comment I can make; shivers, it gave me lots.
there is no hate possible without love, we need both to be alive
SO BEAUTIFUL I TINK I CRY NOW, TX
This is beautiful, they loved each other so much, he wanted her and showed her that he was crazy for her, and so she realized she loved him too, but at the end he dont knows what to do. To hold her hands or let her go?.
He finally decides to let her go...
já perdi a conta de quantas vezes eu ouvi essa música para me acalmar.
Rebeca Almeida dois!
What a beautiful peace of music
I totally love this video. The emotion and intensity is mesmerising. I’ve never seen anything that has captivated me more than this. Thank you for an amazingly powerful piece of work.
His music touch so harly bad in my heart, I love this artist, the way he is it´s what makes him one of the best artist for me and I will remember him for the rest of my life
PD/ I cry every time i hear his songs :')
This is just beautiful.
So moving. The music is absolutely beautiful.
This is both beautiful and agony to watch. Perfectly choreographed.
I am in love with this song tonight, I imagine that the song grows, grows and grows until it barely reaches heaven with its hands 4:00, and smoothly falls down as remembers the steamy texture of a lost dream 4:15
So intensive, you can't breathe
Beautifully dark. The video could mean all manner of things. It matches what I think of the music.
I HAVE to learn this song in a week. It’s just too beautiful I really want to play it at camppp.
Hayden_Was_ Here good luck
Exquisite; excrutiating; enchanting
oh god. So amazing music..
See You in Poland, Keaton.
Earnestly Yours,
Kate.
This is beautiful
I swear, at 2.25 when he grab her wrists, but imediatly changed to a gentle touch, I imagined them making a performatic dancing to show us their feelings, because of the changing of tone (from agressive to careful, and the type of music, of course). I was not disappointed at all.
...everything, thank you!
masterpiece
thank you for yet another beautiful video.
Oh Keaton, you will kill me one day...
