My favorite costume was definitely dr.gauls lab attire. Every time it was on screen I would get distracted admiring it and not listen to the dialogue

I’m so glad you covered this movie! The entire time I was analyzing the costumes and what they meant for each character.
I’m wondering if you noticed the somewhat ill fitting shoulders on the peacekeepers uniforms? It looked like they were struggling to move in the jackets when we see them, (I’m thinking the hanging scene Snow looks like he’s struggling to hold his gun comfortably.) I am wondering if this was intentional though as to show that Snow doesn’t truly fit in with the peacekeepers. Curious about your thoughts on it. :) 🩵

Hi gettingjinxy, thank you so much for commenting. I didn't notice Snow's ill fitting suit and I don't recall what it said in the book (if anything about it) but this does make complete sense! It's hard when I am watching a movie only once in the theatre and trying to remember everything! I reallly appreciated your perspective. :)

Wonderful video! It was interesting to find out that they reverse-engineered the bathroom tiles from the buttons

The Academy brooches also appear to me very similar to the Symbol of the FreeMasons. Interesting you noticed the similarity between the Accademy logo and the 18th century english compass, as this is a key form in Masonic imagery. Dr. Gaul, a creator or 'maker' of life, having one arguably dead eye is another link to the Masons. The team likely took a lot of inspiration from real world secret scocieties when designing the overall feel and look of Panem's elite.

Lucy Grey’s corset reminded me so much of the corset worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in the role of Sarah Sanderson in “Hocus Pocus”! In the realm of teen novels can I make a humble request. I’ve always been fascinated by the clothes of the titular antagonist of the first three Twilight films Victoria. She has a very fascinating style to her that has one foot it seems in modern, but the other in Victorian garb. I’m not well versed in fashion, but I’m so intrigued by a lot of her pieces! It seems she takes much of her attire from her victims? She has a necklace with a few rings and a pocket watch. Thanks so much for creating stellar content!

I found Gaul's costumes fantastical but they were so over the top! Cant decide if it was a good call or if she could have been less obviously unhinged/mustache-twirly, and more subtly sinister and creepy.
