Astonishing! The best performance I have ever heard in my 66 years! Lead me to worship Christ my God and Redeemer! Thank you for such a wonderful, sublime rendition!
I thought that I had already found the best performance of Handel's Messiah, then I found this absolutely wonderful performance, which is now become my favorite. i have downloaded both Part 1 and Part 2 to enjoy anytime. Thank you for this blessing!
Beautiful version on modern instruments (but then the presence of the countertenor J.J. Orlinski is difficult to explain, except that he is Polish and a stunning singer), with a superb choir. Orlinski gave us a wonderful "He was despised", a very, often a little "tunnel" aria when interpreted without conviction, but varied here with finesse and feeling, in a moving and very artistic way. A great moment of this concert But the whole is literally illuminated by the incomparable timbre of Sunhae Im, beautiful, supple, stable, so simple and radiant in the same time. Thank you very much to the Warshaw Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, and to the solists. A great moment. I won't miss the part II. Long live Poland ! From Belgium
Performance is excellent. I was so amazed to hear such an excellent performance from a choir in a country which was under communist rule till 30 years ago. God bless all those who were part of this. I wish and pray that the legacy left behind by this choir will continue for generations together till Christ comes.
Impressive. One of the greatest performances I’ve heard. Their English is precisely articulated and absolutely clear. Conductor excellent. As for Orlinski - WOW!!!
I have already listened to this masterpiece dozens of times, in several quality performances. But for the first time, the text touched me like an arrow in the heart.
After finding this gem, I listened to this magnificent performance at least four times today, both Parts 1 and 2. What a great energy displayed by the singers, the orchestra and the maestro. Glory to God and thanks for sending His Son Jesus to earth!!🤗⛪🎼🎺

Wonderful performance, great orchestra, conducted masterly !! The singers of the choir just wonderful ... the soloists were outstanding. Jakub Józef Orlinski was absolutely marvellous ... a great voice, he should go very, very far I predict. I think we willhear much, much more of him in the future ... He has got everything for him, his good looks and above all that beautiful "counter-tenor" voice, which he master so well. I am in love with him, so to speak. Bravo

The most stunning thing for me is the perfection of the members of the chorus, not only musically but also in their enunciation of the text. Kudos to them and to their director and to whoever taught them how to pronounce the text as clearly and correctly as any chorus in an English-speaking country. Unbelievable!
Perfection, coming from my old country where Handel was never a household name! On top of all the praise I shall add kudos for the cameramen/women. Of course, the soprano and countertenor are gorgeous.
Wonderful singing and performance, I just love this... It's taking my heart, am watching again and again... I love Classic music... So sweet God bless the Choir, and the 4 performers.. Passionate singing... Handel is the best, putting scriptures in songs...
All was perfect, the musicians, the choir and the soilists. Merci beaucoup. J'écouterai la deuxième partie plus tard.. 😘
I loved every minute... but I must give a shout-out to the harpsichordist and bassoonist! "And with his stripes" displayed sublime, dynamic and expressive choral singing. All soloists were admirable, but I must say that Orlinski's singing was inspired, confident and incredibly expressive (and the red socks were great!). I loved the organist's flair in "All we like sheep", and Orlinski's head-bobbing (tenors need to keep up!)
I come back to this performance year after year, throughout. So very fine! On a sour note, RUclips is sticking commercials IN THE MIDDLE of several arias. QUIT IT!! Disgusting!
Maestro Haselbock, this performance is wonderful! I was originally fascinated by your Beethoven interpretation and now I am so eager for listening to other composers' works conducted by you!! Please consider that you visit South Korea with your orchestra in near future!!!
Piękne wykonanie, czekam na kontynuację :) Gratuluję pomysłu współpracy OiChFN ze zjawiskowym JJO. Szczególne brawa chórowi za tempo w All we like sheep.. ;)
The counter tenor is the showpiece of this performance. Jakub Orlinski is a star in his own right. I dislike productions where counter tenor arias are given to altos.
I have seen and heard many many performances of Messiah and this is the first I have heard in which a counter tenor performs the parts normally sung by an alto. Orlinski is indeed sublime.
@@kateh4030 alto soloists are the exception rather than the rule in Baroque music. It's just hard to find a good countertenor. 'Who may abide" is often given to countertenors
@@kateh4030 The parts sung today by altos were sung by countertenors in Handel's time. In fact, "But Who May Abide The Day Of His Coming?" and "He Was Despised And Rejected" were written specifically as countertenor solos. Unfortunately, the countertenor is a much rarer voice nowadays.
I have pasted the time stamps in a comment because the RUclips iPhone app does not present them as time stamp links any other way. Thank you for. Your understanding.
Vivaldi (from 27' )- Autumn, winter - melancholy and later springtime and summer. Joyful music, sometimes you are forced to jump up and to dance (minuete and round dance), sometimes you would like to cry, all of these are an introduction to the "Hallelujah", which is one of the most splendid hymn of Art. Some parts would like to sway us (remember Bach and Gluck' Euridice). These emotions are really extremely hard task to interpret, but the chore, the orchestra and the soloists fulfil perfectly. Excellent parts especially when a soloist has a conversation with the orchestra (He was despised and spat /spitted/... kb. 1,02'), not to mention the canons and fugues. This is a piece of the self-conscious people, who could be believers or non-believers. Congratulation again.
We often overlook the fact that The Messiah is really the work of the one that wrote it, the Patron of the Arts from Gopsall Hall in Leicestershire, Charles Jennens. Without his genius, we would have nothing. Handel received the scripture collection at the age of 57. He was in ill health and debt burdened and if luck would have it, an invitation from the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland to do some concerts in Dublin. He must have had a remarkable inspiration to pen a score in 24 days. So off Handel went and the first published edition and performance was April 13, 1742. Jennens plans for this work were vastly different. It may well have eroded their friendship but in the end, Handel came out the winner as the reviews and attendance all testified to this. It remains a remarkable work over 275 years later.
It needs to be said that this work is not The Messiah. It is simply Messiah. The definite article is used in the German translation when it becomes Der Messias.

Sinfonia Allegro moderato 2:06.
I loved this performance! So beautiful!
My only complaint is that the soprano did not have enough time to make up her hair (?)
Just out of curiosity, Is there footage from multiple performances splice into one? The soprano Ewelina at 39:45 and 39:47 made we wonder. Thanks for such a beautiful performance!
Yes. Blonde woman over Countertenor's left shoulder: hair down-16:20, hair up-16:30, hair down-17:04! 😉
@@brits4087 I caught that too. Seamless splicing, though... Still a great performance!
правильно сделали, что взяли крупным планом Якуба. Он прекрасен.
Don’t mind the whole orchestra being smaller.
39:21 and 39:43 Someone is singing a little off key
😂
But what happened to Part the third?
The entire piece was split. The rest of Part Two and Part Three are here ruclips.net/video/kC_xRCWL94s/видео.html
