Great day on the water, great fish! Good luck in Idaho! I wishy I was going with you. My wife is from Idaho, and I love it there. When you snagged the bottom and jerked your rod to get it free reminded me of a time many many years ago when I was fishing the Provo, back then there was no middle Provo, I hooked in to something and began jerking the rod to get it free. Turned out to be the biggest brown I've ever caught. Thanks for the memory.
Nice battle with that big dude. Been a while since I hit the Provo, took me a bit to get my bearings as the river has obviously changed a ton in the last few years.
That stretch of water has changed so much since the last two years of high run off! The last time I fished it I couldn't believe how much it has changed. Some good fish that day!
Thanks for the video, Robert, and the best of luck at the upcoming Island Park Interregional. I know that, as a comp angler, you probably prefer to practice under comp rules, however, I was wondering if you've ever fished with someone using a bounce rig. If so, could you share some thoughts about the relative efficacy of a Euro and a bounce rig on the waters you fish?
I don't love it tbh. It's one of the only options with those big bag comp nets to keep them from dragging in the water. I prefer to hang them vertically when fun fishing because they are easier to grab and deploy.

Thanks! About to head out on hebgen lake for day 1!

Thanks Andrew! First time down there in awhile.

You know I haven't fished with someone that bounce rigs, so I can't really speak to its relative effectiveness.
Which/how much tippet do you typically use for a euro rig on the middle provo?
I generally start with 4 feet to a triple surgeons and another 22-24" to the point.
What do you think of that net setup?

Are you on Team USA or trying out for Team USA? I am sure you will do well. Fish are fat and happy this time of year. Thanks for the video.
I guess I'm trying to qualify, but I'm in it this cycle to get comp experience and maybe get a chance to fish in the national championship.
