In this presentation for the World Economic Forum, filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy introduces footage from her documentaries exploring the human costs of conflict in Pakistan and the work of Bangladeshi women peacekeepers in Haiti and the Congo. She explains that her filmmaking is motivated by a desire to show that the Muslim world is not monolithic, and notes that her films have inspired advocacy which led to changes in legislation and government policies.
