    I notice you have additional 2x4 posts I presume for additional support so what is the purpose? Is this version 4? Did you cross these two as experiment or because you know this a great combo and a delicious end result? Thanks for all you do for DF and mostly great community that are very helpful.

    Thanks for your video, I enjoy everyone. Good job! I have a question about my American Beauty. What was the reasons the flowers died (turned to yellow) after blooming? Thank you

      Might be self sterile or possible cannot pollinate itself with the stigma far away from the anthers and there were no pollinators to pollinate the stigma

    Good morning Richard. Love the plants. How do you run your fetilizing regime? I am still learning. Here it is winter now, how to i give nutrients before fruiting season?

    • @jaredf.6532

      In his previous videos. Richard gives it chicken fertilizer for the dragon fruit to grow good sweet fruit and a tea compost for it to grow fast

    • @jaredf.6532

      Could be that your dragon fruit is self sterile or perhaps needs to be pollinated by hand or by other pollinators if the stigma of the flower is far away from the anthers that carry the pollen

      I am growing mine straight from the seed I took from the store that I bought from. Although that method of growing them from seed takes them about 2 or 3 years to produce fruit

    Hey brother I have a question about cross pollination. I planted my first dragon fruit about 2 years ago and it has produced 3 cycles of about 12-15 flowers this spring. But none of them have pollinated 😭 I’ve seen lots of bees doing their thing in the flowers and tried pollinating by hand but nothing is working. I propagated a few clippings and hope they will produce a few flowers this summer. My question is, can dragon fruit clippings from the same plants successfully cross pollinate? Or does it need to be a genetically different plant? I’m not 100% sure of what type of dragon fruit I have.

    Hi Richard! This might be a dumb Q, but will the root stock variety still produce its own stems and fruit once it’s been grafted with other varieties? I have voodoo child as a root stock for American B and Haley’s C. Will it still produce VC fruit? TY ❤️ your videos!

    • @jaredf.6532
      @jaredf.6532 4 года назад

      If grown from the seed. Takes about 2 or 3 years to produce their first fruit. If it's a cutting that's just been planted. It took my about a year to produce it's first fruit.

    Hi I have my cuttings outside. They are about 7-8 inches and they need to root still.. I have them outside in a 20-25 gallon pot.. I live in California and its very hot rn passing 100 F°. They are in the shadow not directly to sun. Should I put them inside the house

    • @jaredf.6532
      @jaredf.6532 4 года назад +1

      Definitely bring them inside unless the shade they're under shields them from the sunlight throughout the day. If they are not rooted and out in that hot weather. They will end up dehydrating and dying instead. So wait for them to root before they come in contact with any sunlight.

    • @jaredf.6532

      Could be it was self sterile or needs to be hand pollinated or by other pollinators since the anthers could not reach the stigma to self fertilize itself

    So I have a dragon fruit cutting that WILL NOT grow. It grew a fruit bud and it of course aborted and now I don’t know what to do. It does have a root system it just won’t grow any new growth for some reason. And it’s tipped at the top. Can anyone please give me any info?

    • @jaredf.6532
      @jaredf.6532 4 года назад

      The same was with my dragon fruit cutting I had. However it just happened to take a while to have another stem growth sprout out of one of the thorns. So the cutting you have could be a late bloomer for making new growth on it. That is if it still have any sort of spines (thorns) on the cutting still

    Can I plant 2 different varieties in the same pot?

    • @jaredf.6532
      @jaredf.6532 4 года назад

      It's possible. Just need to take in account for the different variety root structure. One might grow a big root system and the other might grow a small one. The big root system might overthrow the small one. However I dont exactly know much about which variety root system is big or small.
      So you could but just be careful they have some room in the pot to be separated or for their root system to grow in without taking over the other
