Really pleased with the breakdown of the switch when you say it is really muddy. Can't really tell if you said it doesn't affect the sound but you sounded great anyways. Thanks for such a thorough breakdown! 👐🏽
Thanks man, decided to pull the trigger on ordering mine after watching a few videos, including yours. Fantastic chops and playing, I understand amps affect the sound of the guitar, but it still seems like a versatile piece for what I'm looking for. I've always liked Ibanez's necks and thin bodies on some of their models, it really makes playing fast much easier as well as lugging the thing around. Great vid.
Hey great review on this guitar , i was thinking about buying one and you sealed the deal , ordered a blackberry sunburst , i have 3 other ibanez guitars , a joe satriani series , an early 90s gat and an iceman , wanted the s521 for the fixed bridge easy to tune up or down for live gigs , was impressed you go the extra mile and dismantle and look at everything :)
I have the very same guitar and it's really good. A SOLID simple quality instrument for very doable money. Plays great. Sounds very good. Highly receommended.
GREAT channel, i think I will go with the premium over this ,because I have been learning again , and I want their trem system . the word you were looking for color is it has a gradient blue.
Can you tell me, please, what kind of music do you play and how emgs performed better? I'm not very happy with my bridge pickup. When I use fuzz (like Big Muff) the attack of every note is a bit squealy, hard to describe in words. Just the attack.
Hi Jake. I got this same guitar recently and noticed two things straight away. First, the hole on the back for the low e string is set further back than the others. Second, the headstock does not say “S series” like the one you have here. Is it possible that I have a knock off guitar? The back of the headstock indicates it was made in 2022. What do you make of this?
I've bought a new Ibaneez S521 in 2022 and it say S series on the top of the headstock. On the back of headstock you can see "S521" then an indicative for color, mine is 1P-03, then a serial with a black thick border, then "Made in Indonesia", then some international signs in a black thin box. The neck should have a satin finish, not glossy.
Funny, as a boat builder I was always taught meranti was the poor relation to maple, definitely not mahogany. Seems to me this entire video could be flawed.

Thx for the great video
yeah man good review and demo!!! I thought they were trying to hide the monstrosity of that 5 way switch with all the screws on the back

Great review and demo!😎
Fretboard very well could be rosewood. But it looks like jatoba to me. My rosewood s561& s560qm is much darker
I swap my pickups for emg 81/85 and it holds up against the best out there.

I got one in black berry sunburst
just ordered one this week :)
I bought BBS too. I can't resist to red guitars and to women with long legs.
@@clausion Or a nice vintage black bush
How many kilograms??
Mine is 2.7 Kg.
Every guitar I look at I might potentially get. Someone bought it for their wife 😅

Meranti is close to mahogany
@@ronhoffman7941 not even from the same family, looks similar, I’ll give you that.
