The Ibanez Prestige line is getting harder and harder to find, I had to order my last one and finally able to receive it in 6 days short of one whole year. That’s exactly the same green S series guitar like you have demonstrated. Great guitars, I wish they can offer more selections of pickups as well.
I have s521 and love it
I have the S5570 in Green Doom Burst. Love it
I have one Ibanez so far. A 1991 RG 570 and I love it. I plan on buying another one. My favorite has always been the Radius, so I will be looking to add an hss version of that next.
Yeah I always been into RGs, it is the sports car vibes surely and the metal heads I was into always had ibanez, Korn as example. I do love the new RGA bodies, they are thinner and classy... guess I'm an adult now eheh but still keeping my first RG. I always bought the mid range/cheaper models and really happy with the quality, being an hobby for me doesn't justify getting a prestige model.
There’s nothing wrong with the more budget friendly versions of these guitars for sure. Thanks for watching and engaging 🎸🤘🏻🔥
Thank you Anthony! Very informative. ⚡
Being an owner of both an Ibanez RG and S, I have to give my vote convincingly to the RG. Not that the S is a bad guitar at all. But I love the the sharp edges of the RG. And it's razor thin neck with 2 octaves? There's no beating that! The whammy is not to be defeated by Floyd (and it floats evenly better than the Rose). Then you custom out with Duncan (and Carvin, R.I.P.) pickups and...kicking a** awaits...
I want to install seymour duncan 'high voltage' pickups on an S model ibenez. Can it be done or are they to tall?
Whichever one comes in Hardtail is the best.
The main dif in my opinion is the floating bridge.
I have a 540SFM from 1991, the best guitar ever!
Thanks for the great comparison review. I think I will be buying the S Series based on your video. Question: How do I buy the specific model I want? Via Ibanez directly? I live in NYC USA. Thank you.
Hey man. In fairness I have no idea. When I bought my S series I got it through PMT, a UK based company. When I bought my Q I went direct to Ibanez, purely because I now know somebody at Ibanez. I think you’d have to go the retail route. Speak to your local big music retailer, guitar centre or somebody like that, and go from there is my honest advice. My best, Anthony
@@anthonygeorgeguitar thanks very much for the reply. Keep the videos coming!
Very good 👍
I like the RG better I'm not so much a fan of burl tops, I prefer solid colors or a burst or an awesome peice of art on a guitar.
Just ordered an S. I found the RG necks wonderful, but the bodies a bit bulky
Dude did you get that guitar ?
@@Cognitoman Yes. I got a S470L from 1998. Replaced the pups and it is great.
Best S version for me is Frank Gambale Model
I love my RG...I actually bought the rg over the s series...I have the gio also it's got two double humbuckers I just needed that single coil until I get a strat which will be the Mexican strat way cheaper imo I think they play better than the American...
Thanks for watching dude. I have a mexi strat too. Did a job for me for a while when I was doing function band work etc. I rarely, if ever, use it now. Between my Ibanez guitars and suhr I don’t really feel I need anything else. Although…a new guitar is always a good thing 🤣🤘🏻🎸🔥
@@anthonygeorgeguitar really I don't need a new guitar...I get everything I need out of my Ibanez's you can play the blues to metal on them...just matters how you dial it in on the Amp and your foot pedals...Most plp think Ibanez is just for Metal heads only but they are really mistaken...Yea a new guitar from the wife would really be appreciated that's why I said it the way I did...she plays too so I know she reads comments...Lol
@@rickeymathis2978 Hah! I love this!! 🤘🏻🎸🔥
@@anthonygeorgeguitar it's worth a shot...Lmao...might come home to a SG or Strat laying on the couch but very doubtful...she already complains that I got 4...Lol...
@@rickeymathis2978 If the wife brings home an Ibby she knows the score though…ha! 🤘🏻🎸🔥
I have an s series I just find it really small lol especially when your hands are massive haha I like my schecter the most
RG all the way!! I’ve had both!! That thin Saber series don’t really have a good tone!! I currently have 2 RG’s one is a 1990 RG 550 and idk what year RG 450 dx .. I never even heard of prestige until like 5 years ago! No store I went to carried them.
Love the hard lines and points! Ibanez has always had the best headstock!! I put Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge position and the PAF pro in the neck!!
I’ve got a 1990 550. Sick guitar 🔥🎸🤘🏻
Man. The SA's never get any love :) Best Regards!
As I was drinking some Sake..... I zoned out for a second and was like "What is that room? like? who has a tiny room like that made out of join locking whatever lining wood things? why am I imagining a Tiny tiny could be a toilet wood cabin on a farm filled with a small fortune of Ibanez guitars (and is that a Gibson? eh whatever)? why am I so tipsy?
Haha. I hope your hangover isn’t too bad dude.
