I’ve never lied about having an allergy to get “special treatment” but I also dgaf if someone does. That behavior is usually from servers and cooks not caring about making orders right (I say this as a chef). If you put massive chunks of onions on my food, I cannot eat it without barfing. It’s a texture thing. I’ve wasted so much time and money on people who can’t understand “no onions” that I don’t blame people just trying to get something they can eat. I don’t lie, I just end up throwing the food away and skipping that meal.
Also, not all allergies are obvious. My husband’s aunt is allergic to onions, but not to onion powder. Certain proteins change during processing and thus might be tolerable in one form and might be death in another. Or it might always be death for someone. Allergies are different for everyone. I’m literally allergic to exercise, it breaks me out in hives. Y’all don’t know what issues people have.
Basically, people shouldn’t feel the need to lie to trust that they’ll get edible food.

I don't know if I have an allergy, or intolerance; but I tell restaurants I have an allergy because I don't want a rash on my hands and to spend the rest of my day, through the night, into the next day, stuck on a toilet.
I ask the server to check with the kitchen as to what items could best be prepared to minimize exposure and cross contamination; and if there's nothing the kitchen thinks they can safely prepare for me, then I'll just have my beverage while the people I'm with eat and I can eat afterwards at home.
Many restaurants want the sale, and tell me foods are safe when they aren't, so I get exposed anyway.

A restaurant we informed more than a month beforehand straight up told me there was no dairy in tomato soup with cream in it... The same for dairy free pancakes who turned out to be just made in the same pan as the other regular pancakes. I wish most restaurants would actually take care of it. Not all do.

And fakers should get booted for sure, but it is not you to decide who is faking. Because of people like you and your chef people like me can not trust a single thing prepared not by myself because people like your chef don't care and like to play roulette.

I dont like tomatoes or lettuce from fast food places they are both gross so if they put it on and then take it off theres always juice from them left over and the lettuce leaves dirty water all over it.
