Honest take on the RC, I own one myself and its true its not 100% ready out of the box. I opened up the diffs and shocks for thicker oil "especially" the center diff. Not many cheap bashers have center diffs and it really helps. I been bashing it for 3 months now and only broken 1 dog bone. I put 120mm tires on it, and its a Monster... and it holds up so well to crashes as the plastic will bend.. just dont back them in the Cold Thanks Bruce
I just got the truck about a week ago and this little thing is great for 120$. it rips pretty good, and I've bashed and bashed on it and its alot of fun.
I had a much different experience! very good to know that not all examples are created equally! Definitely Something for buyers to watch for! Nice review!👍👊
adding heavy grease to all diffs should fix the handling issue. Still the 1/16 scale shocks just asking for trouble. Wltoys 1/14 and 1/12 buggy shocks are stronger.
@@customtoyrevolution I didn’t experience any handling issues. I did notice that the ST dual rate is a tiny bit on the vague side, but that’s about it. I feel it’s got nice linear power off the line . The air temp was really cold, so that might of thickened up the oil and also hardened up the tires to allow them to slip more.
Got the 16890SA today . It’s awesome do far and peppy . Waiting on some 1/12 tires 3.7” and 3s batteries . I feel like I made a good choice for a first one but already want something larger .this one you show looks like the exact same build inside , same small battery compartment but you can cut the back corner for the wires . Mine has a piece of foam to snug the batteries it comes with but I think I can make them fit hopefully . Should be durable , let us know please. Happy Easter 🐰🐇
It seemed slower with the larger tires and I didn’t have them on for long but it felt nice . It’s really fun to drive in 2s and manageable . The 3s makes this a beast imo . I d say around 40-45mph with a zeee 2200mah 50c . I’ve probably run 20 batteries through it . Added some wd40 marine grease to the diffs and it somehow became quieter and smoother ? I really like the 16980SA . I did order the rlaarlo carbon fiber Omni and hope it comes assembled well , lol . I’ve seen a lot of vids where the product arrives with crap quality control . Thanks for the vids
I really appreciate an honest review 👍. Most people sound so thrilled about reviewing these you think it’s the best next thing lol. You kinda talked me out of this one. 👍👍
@@customtoyrevolution Agree about battery compartment being too small. I don't think the price is that bad. Seems like every couple of months Amazon has them for about $135. Any way next time they have them on sale I'm going to get a couple of them. Keep up the good videos, I really appreciate different views
Thanks for the video, till now ive only hear positive about the 2996a and 2997a. Can you perhaps try if the motor and its motor mount plate fit the 124008? Thanks!!
Also, will you give this car some love and see if it fixes the traction pull to one side? Could be bad diff lubrication or perhaps an extra shim. I like to tinker so i was thinking of grabbing a brushed version of this truck and make it into a buggy and convert to brushless. Tnx!

Luck you $120 and that should be the buy point. Now it is $165 after a $35 discount, just hard to recommend it. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for the great video and your true view of the car.

The battery tray is small but I’m still gonna get one.
Good for you. Let us know after you play with it

Glad it was helpful!
Trying to figure out if you got a "lemon " or what because it seems like all the other reviews on this truck were good.
Perhaps, mine is not a review sample. My biggest issues are that it's just too expensive and the battery compartment is way too small

Did you have to adjust the knob in the middle , throttle , until the red light by the computer went out is the inky way to operate the one I have
No adjustment, works fine out of the box
