@@BrunoSuicida it’s still not the same. It’s more arcadey than Motorsport, but still not as instantly satisfying as PGR2. Also I prefer track focused racers over open world driving games like Horizon.
@@BrunoSuicida it's still like comparing apples and oranges. I totally get what he's saying. Games like PGR that are even more arcade focused are way more satisfying in this genre than Forza Horizon. Honestly I think if enjoying FH more if it had a bit more arcade-y handling. I feel like I have to concentrate more than I would like to play that style of game, if that makes sense.
Honestly after playing FH4 for about a year now, it never once occurred to me that this track looked familiar, but now side by side it's pretty surprising. Great video!
No suprise as most of the members of Bizarre creations went to Playground Games. Even Kudos sistem is actually the Skills you perform while driving and earning Influence Points.
Source? I was under the impression that most of the team formed Lucid Games when AVB shuttered Bizarre, and that they *are* working for Microsoft again but as a maintenance crew for Sea of Thieves... and have been for some time. I would be interested to know where you got that info about Playground taking some of them on because it sounds like cap to me.
Exactly what I was thinking. I remember hearing that they got shoveled onto the Forza teams after Bizarre got shut down. It's a shame, PGR4 looked AMAZING
My PS3 broke down so I brought up my (unused for years) Xbox360, just brilliant going through Project Gotham 2, 3 and 4. Have enjoyed the Edinburgh maps as I used to work in Edinburgh and used to do early morning walks in city centre
As someone living in Edinburgh I have to say that it's damn accurate. Especially impressed about buildings. FH4 lacks a lot of architecture and looks quite disappointing

Yo estoy jugando ahora. Unas 500 horas me he hechado en este juego desde que lo compré hace 17 años😂. Y que decepción que después de tantos años lo único en que han mejorado los juegos de carreras son los gráficos, incluso parece menos emocionante el Forza, parece que vas más lento.
To clarify, that is true, but I recorded the game play via the 360, due to PGR2 being backward compatible btw I love your video essays, its a great series to binge!
Do they both look the same? Yes they do without a doubt...Would I have said that there was something familiar about this forza horizon 4 track, having not yet seen this video? Absolutely Not.
PGR2 wins easy, I love the way everything is walled off like an actual racing track (think Monaco), Forza just seems lazy in comparison, and that checkpoint crap? get rid of it...
It blows my mind that PGR2 nailed the minor details of incandescent tail lights, something we wouldn't see again until the likes of GT7.
Agree I always appreciated that in pgr2. I'm a Forza fan but sometimes they miss the little detail
It goes to show you how ahead of its time the visuals were in PGR 2. Great stuff. Thank you.
I love the visuals of Forza but I miss the more arcadey gameplay of PGR.
what? FH4 is arcade, just with a bit better handling physics, only thing more arcadey is Burnout or NFS

@G V Ever Heard of “Need For Speed Shift”?
It's crazy how much better the sense of speed is in PGR2
It's like watching my favorite racing game remastered. ❤️
For what is now a 20-year-old game, PGR2’s visuals still hold up really well today.
Honestly after playing FH4 for about a year now, it never once occurred to me that this track looked familiar, but now side by side it's pretty surprising. Great video!
20 years and PGR2 is still impressive
Metropolis Street Racer and Project Gotham 2 were definitely my favorite from the bunch. Wish they would receive a remake.
PGR is visually amazing

PGR is the most like Edinburgh. Its so strange seeing streets you walk down every day. Hey mound RBS. 😂
I really want to feel that one day, but guess what? I'm portuguese.

Wow pgr2 looks tight.
Pgr2 had all the shops in Princes Street.
Wow, i'm impressed how good this PGR2 looked for its time.
I wish they release a remaster for modern platforms
Even PGR2 with its pretty shocking models does the Challenge grille better than FH4
Pgr2 only has a small handful of bad models the rest of them are actually pretty accurate especially considering the games from 2003
Curioso. Me gusta más el Projet Gothan. Más sensación de velocidad.

Good throwback for FH4
PGR 2 envejeció bien. Lo sigo jugando.

I love both of these games so much.

PGR nad the real streets and the shops... FH 4 did not!

Edimburg was my favorite environment in PGR 2. Does FH4 feature the whole city center?
Fh4 fully feature endinburg .
Yes

Is FH a successor to the PGR series?
I'd say that Driveclub is(was) the spiritual successor to the PGR series, and Horizon is the spiritual successor to Midnight Club.
