That’s what the problem is, it works on the front but not the back. Most cars have it to where it will unlock all doors with putting your hand behind the front door handle.
@@michaelsteinbach Once you have it, you will miss it when it is gone. Our Atlas has the unlock on all doors and it is really nice getting the kids in. When I take out our CX30, with just unlock on the front, I inevitably always try to unlock from the rear doors first before realizing my mistake.
I have a palisade calligraphy and when i grab the door handle twice it unlocks all the doors. I believe its a feature u can change in the settings because mine has it
No one wants to drive a wimpy little car. Hyundai can't build these fast enough to satisfy demand. Buyers want Palisades and are willing to pay substantial markups.
@@bwofficial1776 I don't think everybody hangs their self worth on their ability to project aggression; however, placing the front turn signals up where they can actually be SEEN rather than down below the bumpers (wtf?) is a great look.
@@bwofficial1776 I think we agree. I was just putting into words what we drivers want. There should be a law or rule banning wimpy cars. Maybe aggressive looking vehicles should get tax breaks.
Does the remote forward/backward feature straighten the front axle before moving? Or if the wheel is turned will it not engage (or maybe go in circles?)
I believe that the keyless unlock can be set for all 4 doors but you still have to grab the front door handles - my '22 Santa Cruz works that way - would be nice though if all doors worked that way not just the front two but at least all you have to do is touch the inside portion of the door handle to unlock all four (if you want to)...
Of course you can use the front handle to unlock all doors but it would be nice if they implement the sensor on all four doors. If you have kids you'll know why it's important. They will mangle the door handle before you arrive at the front door 😂
That's not new. The longer third brake light was and is a standard feature in the Calligraphy since they first came out in 2021. That's been the first indicator for me if I'm behind another Palisade, in knowing if it's a Calligraphy or not.
19:06 On Hyundai crossovers with a "smart key", the liftgate works independently of the door locks. So just lock the doors before you unload things, then when you close the trunk it'll be locked too.
I can't wait for you to drive the Mazda CX-90. I'm curious what your thoughts are on the new Straight 6 Turbo, RWD platform. Loved my test drive and seeing more on the streets.
Hearing it's "midsize" when my 2014 Traverse is midsize, but obviously so much smaller than this blows my mind. This thing looks as big inside as our Yukon does, just not on a truck chassis.
Being unable to unlock the back door with your key fob actually has pros. I knew someone who unlocked his car then the moment he gets in, the robbers came in as well. Unlocking all doors is a security risk.
5:35 I don't think it is a BIG deal. You already have access to that small tiny button on the Driver side door handle which can unlock with a press. You just do that w/o taking your key fob out and then open the rear door. I do this all the time.
It works but I had a car that would automatically relock after 30 seconds, if you were loading something in the back seats and took multiple trips it was a huge pain in the ass
Uh...the massage function absolutely shows on the infotainment system. Three settings the button cycles through. Butt, back, both. Also there is a function in the infotainment system to turn on auto lumbar massage after an hour of driving. Recently drove 2,000 mile trip in my 23 calligraphy and it was amazing. Also as a side note. I have absolutely used the remote to get the car out of a parking spot....once. Someone parked so close I couldn't get in. Pulled the car out with the fob. It was great.
The one thing I hope they improved is the road noise/sound insulation on this refresh. My wife has a 2020 Limited and we love it, except how loud it is on terms of exterior noise, especially at highway speeds. My 21 silverado rst is much much quieter on the highway than our Palisade Limited. Great work as always, Doug!
Agreed. My work colleague has the Kia Telluride and the road noise notable. What’s interesting is the amount of nonsensical articles online claiming the Kia and Hyundai are the quietest in their class.
@haroldbeauchamp3770 I'm glad I'm not the only one to be annoyed by this! I know this is very first world problem issue, but it does seem like they have had enough complaints that the issue is fixed.
What was that wet spot on the ground when it backed up? Was it water? Was it coolant? Was it oil? Or was it already there? Like rain water or something.
WHAT IS CAUSING THAT GIANT FOOT-LONG GOUGE/SCRATCH ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE 3RD ROW SEAT WHERE SOMETHING IS DESTROYING THE WHEELWELL PLASTIC @ 17:01??!!!??!?
Doug that back door not opening without you unlocking it is actually a good feature because there are instances where robbers sneak up behind you and unlock the rear door and get in behind you.
Doug, there is a screen in the infotainment, when the vehicle is on, that shows which massage setting is being applied and allows you to choose between 3 or 4 settings as well as enable automatic massaging to turn on every 30 or 60 minutes while driving.
I'm willing to bet the back door not unlocking with the key fob in your pocket is a safety feature. You don't want someone being able to open the back door when you're getting in the front door.
No offence to any Hyundai, Palisade owners. Hyundai, Kia, Genesis makes really good cars for many years now. I am also a Hyundai fan and also owner of a Santa Fe Limited with a V6 N/A engine and it has 153,000 miles from 278 miles and I want to use this car till it lasts.
Hyundai are great cars…….right up until they break. I have had 3 over the years, and have yet to find a dealer that has real mechanics working there. I have been Hyundai free for a few years now, and it’s wonderful.
Doug, the map screen you see when you turn on the car and do not show anything on the entertainment screen, is a funtional map. If you keep driving you will notice the lines (representing the roads) change.

I feel like Hyundai is paying you quite a bit to provide everyone a positive outlook on their vehicles. Considering the first thing you said about them isn’t necessarily true. They aren’t exactly the top competitors in their competition of utility vehicles. In fact, when most people consider a 3 row SUV, most people already know the prior generation of Palisade had electrical and transmission issues. The people who buy them are suckers that were sucked in by the design not the reliability. Most people turn elsewhere for a more efficient and reliable choice.

It's a different engine from the V6 in the Telluride/Palisade. And yes, Kias and Hyundais do not like dirty engine oil. I change my oil every 4k miles. Their engines are notorious for eating motor oil and most people have no idea until the crank locks up and it's grenaded. I check that dipstick once a week minimum. So far 8k miles and the 2.0L isn't burning oil according to the level.
Man, these (and other Kias/Hyundais) look so good but I’ve heard too many stories from friends and others about major issues and dealer wait times while they’re in the shop.
Wait times are a major issue with every manufacturer right now. Long lead times on parts and then the shops are still way understaffed. My friend has had his brand new 2023 F-250 sitting in the shop for three weeks now, awaiting a part.

5:35 - There should be a setting to allow you to touch the front handle twice and it unlocks all doors. (That's how it works on the current Sonata)
That’s what the problem is, it works on the front but not the back. Most cars have it to where it will unlock all doors with putting your hand behind the front door handle.
@@davidlake611 Guess I'm just used to it and dont see it as a problem.
@@davidlake611 Which ones? Most cars I've had over the years have ONLY ever had the buttons on the front doors.
I believe its a feature u can change in the settings because mine has it
It's very cool that it has an aggressive look. We need more aggression on our roads.
I feel sorry for you if you think that the Palisade is aggressive, what do you think of the Telluride and the CX-90 then?
@@bwofficial1776 I think we agree. I was just putting into words what we drivers want. There should be a law or rule banning wimpy cars. Maybe aggressive looking vehicles should get tax breaks.
It just looks like you couldn't afford a real car.
I have this car, but I wish it was a hybrid.
Does the remote forward/backward feature straighten the front axle before moving? Or if the wheel is turned will it not engage (or maybe go in circles?)
That's a good question.
If the wheels don’t turn it’s a major limitation of that feature.
Yes. It does
It does
I make sure my wheels are turned before showing it to people - super cool to see the car straighten them out
I believe that the keyless unlock can be set for all 4 doors but you still have to grab the front door handles - my '22 Santa Cruz works that way - would be nice though if all doors worked that way not just the front two but at least all you have to do is touch the inside portion of the door handle to unlock all four (if you want to)...
Of course you can use the front handle to unlock all doors but it would be nice if they implement the sensor on all four doors. If you have kids you'll know why it's important. They will mangle the door handle before you arrive at the front door 😂
The ergo motion seats have a setting in the infotainment screen to show you what mode you're in. For some reason it is turned off by default.
Only thing you missed Doug, the third break light now spans the entire length of the rear spoiler, the old one was only about 8'' long.
FINALLY!! A Doug DeMuro video without those annoying intruders! The way it was and the way it should be!!

Not original. Dead meme. Keep your stupid comments to yourself.
I can't wait for you to drive the Mazda CX-90. I'm curious what your thoughts are on the new Straight 6 Turbo, RWD platform. Loved my test drive and seeing more on the streets.
Love the look of it all black never thought I’d be considering a Hyundai lol
Don’t put the car and bids advertisement at the beginning! The first thing we gotta is hear is THIS
Did they fix the engine problem where it burns oil why too fast.
@@earlbeasley7406 Anyone have a 2024 Hyundai Palisade with this oil burning issue (likely after 75k miles)?
Hearing it's "midsize" when my 2014 Traverse is midsize, but obviously so much smaller than this blows my mind. This thing looks as big inside as our Yukon does, just not on a truck chassis.
I actually appreciate the Palisade’s headlight placement. If one came up behind me, it wouldn’t blind me through my rear-view mirrors.
You had me in plugging in a blender😂
Being unable to unlock the back door with your key fob actually has pros. I knew someone who unlocked his car then the moment he gets in, the robbers came in as well. Unlocking all doors is a security risk.
I am happy with the practical physical buttons! Proud Korean!
5:35 I don't think it is a BIG deal. You already have access to that small tiny button on the Driver side door handle which can unlock with a press. You just do that w/o taking your key fob out and then open the rear door. I do this all the time.
But every time you want unlock rear doors first, you have to reach your hand to the front door first, which is annoying if you have small kids.
I think that was a major issue that Hyundai addressed. My wife has a 2021 Calligraphy and the road noise (or lack thereof) is great.
Yep. The Palisade imo gonna cost double the amount of cash from R34GT-R. $120.000.
They fixed those a long time ago
@@purwantiallan5089 No it doesnt, it only cost $36.000, there's no way it will cost more than R34GT-R.
Isn’t “quiet mode” just the same as front rear fader? Basically been on every car since the 90s?
The keyfob driving feature actually sees quite a lot of use in the tighter parking spots in Europe.
Would mean the same w/o the useless word “actually”.
@@mavfan1 Thank you! The world is actually a better place thanks to you :)
A refreshing Doug only review. Glad we appear to be done with the joint reviews.
Doug is the kind of guy to release a Hyundai video when everyone else is releasing a video on the new Ford Mustang GT.
Doug! review the Mazda Cx-90. Curious what you think about the new powertrain and in general! thanks
These things are ridiculously expensive. I can’t even wrap my head around people being ok with spending so much money on them.
DOUG!!!! i actually loved this review. if i had the funds, id own one. That being said.... i currently daily a 2003 Lincoln Aviator- esentially, a 2nd gen Explorer, with way more quirks and features, and a vintage retro interior. you may find interesting the powertrain- Ford 4.6L modular V8. now its true that the Mustang GT of the same era also ran a 4.6, (iron block, 2V) however, ford threw everything at the Lincoln.... so.... Aluminum block-Aluminum Heads- Quad cam(4V)- 315HP mustang cobra power!!! 60k in 2003! in an AWD Explorer with the only 6spd auto that Ford offered at the time. BEAST!! I love my Aviator- I feel like im driving around in a Rolex!! You must review!!!!!! Love ya bud, congrats on all the success. I hope the demuro clan is living as well as they deserve!! P.S. Please don't buy these, I used to own both hyundai and genesis and these vehicles are terrible. Transmission failure and screens frozen when temperature is like 10 F.
Considering buying this….. really nice looking with great interior.
I still cant get over them headlights and taillights. To me the Telluride looks a lot better
Doug is the kind of guy that tries to make the word, "Square" an onomatopoeia.
You’re the one that’s wrong. Telluride palisade sales are going through the roof. Why else were they hard to find even before the shortage
@@naveenthemachineonly in NA my guy because Americans and Canadians love oversized mall crawler lifted hatchbacks. Sales of the Telluride and the Palisade in Asia (aside from South Korea) is non existent as they're like $15k more expensive

I've read people saying Hyundai/Kia can be very tough about honoring warranty claims. Anyone have experience dealing with them?
It all depends on the dealership you go to. And unfortunately, most of those dealerships suck so the service will reflect that.
ask anyone with a theta ii
I keep all my receipts for my 2023 Kia Soul when I go buy oil (usually from Walmart) and oil filters (I buy the 10 pack from a Kia dealer online which is cheaper) I keep all my paperwork of anything I do to the car just in case they say they're not honoring the warranty because oil changes weren't done often enough or something like that. With Hyundai/Kia you can't mess around. You have to do your maintenance and keep proof of everything. I even have a service log in the car in the glove compartment with the date, miles, and what was done.

@@shreddy_mcgnar6359 You sound like a Mercedes-Benz or BMW customer! 😜 No seriously, you should have gone to Honda or Toyota. I bought my Kia but it was cheap, $22k. Don't know if I'd roll the dice on a $50k Hyundai or Kia. That's a bit pricey. Honestly I like the Carnival but I haven't seen one physically in person yet, I've only seen them online.

Doug, you forgot to show the coolest feature in this car. With the remote you can move the car backwards or forwards while not being in the vehicle
i thought that the button that Doug said it is for massage is actually ergo-motion thing? i heard that its purpose was to inflate the chair with air so it helps the driver posture while sitting, and not really massaging
