- After the awning collapsing with the rain, I've tried to temporarily rectify the problem 🤞.

New subscriber, we had the same awning on a seasonal pitch. We ended up selling up on and it did sell....we realised the weather and these extra deep awnings are not worth the risk. We opted for a 390 poled awning and sercured this to the caravan. Our peace of mind was so much better and its easy to take down at the end of the season. We easily got used to having less space (less tat) and our two large dogs also got used to less space and adapted. Its not about defeat its about the weather conditions in the UK. The weather is getting progressivley windier and stormier.

I had a 390 porch awning a few years ago and it was a cracking little awning, just a bit to small now though as i also work from the caravan so need the extra space. I am slightly regretting getting the 3m deep though at the moment.
I'll see how it goes next season with all the extra bits and adjustments to the van 🤞🤞.

The awning adventure continues, what a bloomin nuisance really hope you get it sorted. The slope of the awning mustn't be enough so raising the caravan seems the logical solution. Good luck 🤞

Get some tape for the end off the pole s to protect the end,s so they don't tear the awning . !!! 😊
I've had 6 rolls of grey electrical tape delivered off amazon 😊. Going to wrap all the poles...make them look less obvious and yes cover the ends too. That'll give me something to do over the next few days 🤣

ive just found your channel you go sweetheart nothing phasing you, i lived in my caravan for a year love every day just chilling i managed to find a site 5 min's from my work depot not one regret keep the updates coming all the best mark x

@bazzaproctor4682 Yes I definitely think raising the caravan is going to solve a lot of problems 😊.
I wasn't that keen on the A team, I was a big Starsky and Hutch fan when I was little and Fantasy Island. It's funny watching them now and you see how bad they were 🤣.

Hi Carol just came across your channel i have the exact same awning 3 mtr and the same problem with the rain, and yes your van is a little bit low the problem i found is what someone else said in the comments there are not enough poles camptect supply 5 no good i still had the poles from my last awning thank god i now have a total of 10 supporting the roof now abit overkill but it done the trick so see if you can get extra one's off auction sites, belive me it will be worth it good luck.ps love you channel by the way.

I've had the sofa for 3 seasons now and it's been a great purchase. It's so comfy and I've had many an afternoon nap on it lol 😆
Firstly congratulations on the 1000+ subscribers, well deserved too .
Many yrs ago I used extra poles coming away from the caravan and bought a tensioning device which tightened the awning material substantially. My van was sited for several years in mid Wales, so well tested regarding rainfall.
Lifting the caravan several inches will increase the rake helping the water to run off as you’d planned.
Chin up you’ll get it sorted lass.

I've ordered 2 extra roof poles and I borrowed a tensioner from a neighbour on site....wow they're good aren't they. Was shocked how much further they tightened the poles.
I'm feeling hopeful now that next season I will be able to get it perfect 👌

Is there anyway to attach ratchet straps to the front of the awning to pull awning out a bit more,?
I suppose I could put them onto the Little extension poles under the canopy. Will do that when I go back tomorrow. My new storm strap should have been delivered too 🤞

Hope all turns out well for you. There is a caravan place in Porthmadog that could give you professional advice. Too late now, but B&Q is really expensive,, there's Stermat in Caernarfon and West End ironmongers in Pwllheli and Tyddyn Sachau on the way out of Pwllheli for plants.
@iforwilliams2509 Thank you for the local advice 😊 really appreciated. I wasn't sure if Stermat were open on Sundays. Luckily nothing was to expensive and the canes will come in handy if I ever decide to grow runner beans 🤣🤣.

If you do not wish to reverese/ motormove it onto concrete blocks and all that entails , another option is to higher a wheel lift the arms of which cradle the tyre ! It might be an option!😊😊
