  • In celebration of Turner Classic Movies 20th Anniversary on April 14, 2014; here is a montage that showcases the award-winning branding for TCM. Glenn Kesner, who launched the channel, as TCM's first Creative Director, worked day and night, night and day, with Design Director Shannon Davis and an incredible team plus many talented production and design companies who gave their heart and soul to making memorable opens, id's, graphics, promos, content and commercials. Together they shared a passion for classic movies and the life and times of the 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's. That was their pallet along with significant inspiration from artists, photographers, writers, musicians, filmmakers and, of course, artist Edward Hopper. Thanks to a stellar management team, celebrities, actors, hosts, writers, producers, film researchers, editors, motion graphics designers, voice-talent, composers , musicians, and of course, viewers and fans. They all deserve much thanks for helping shape a "must have" channel that has stayed true to its mission and brand essence for two incredible decades.

      I know they're trying to stay modern with the theme they have now for their bumps but it feels very subdued when you compare it to these. They should highly consider replaying a lot of these (with maybe the exception of the Bill Cosby ones, haha). The only intro they still air out of all of these if the "Late Night" one.

    • @WestleyWolf
      @WestleyWolf 8 лет назад +1

      My family including me watches TCM sometimes and they sometimes Pillarbox or Frame SD stuff. they can show some of these as a variation of what they used to have. at one point they still air the 1997 Version of the Turner Logo. other times they use a newer version of what they used to have to fit the HD Widescreen Picture. their website still has a homage of their branding hidden in their WatchTCM Page.

      Turner classic movies is available on sling. You have to sign up for 1 of their 20/25 packages and can add a movie package that includes TCM for an extra $5.00. I think Turner networks are starting a streaming channel (kind of a bare bones netflix) too that will have a about 1000 movies each month.

      TCM is available on many streaming services with different plans for your budget. It's on Sling, Playstation Vue, and DirectTV Now. All you need is an internet connection to watch. There's also a separate streaming channel called "Filmstruck" by the same people at TCM and the Criterion Collection you may want to check out.

      Linda Cooper I also hope they never turn into AMC or IFC. I don't mind if they show "Diner" or "American Graffiti", but nothing else. Months ago they had a slap stick comedy month and instead of showing old black & white comedies, they had shown recent stuff like "Anchorman".
