- In celebration of Turner Classic Movies 20th Anniversary on April 14, 2014; here is a montage that showcases the award-winning branding for TCM. Glenn Kesner, who launched the channel, as TCM's first Creative Director, worked day and night, night and day, with Design Director Shannon Davis and an incredible team plus many talented production and design companies who gave their heart and soul to making memorable opens, id's, graphics, promos, content and commercials. Together they shared a passion for classic movies and the life and times of the 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's. That was their pallet along with significant inspiration from artists, photographers, writers, musicians, filmmakers and, of course, artist Edward Hopper. Thanks to a stellar management team, celebrities, actors, hosts, writers, producers, film researchers, editors, motion graphics designers, voice-talent, composers , musicians, and of course, viewers and fans. They all deserve much thanks for helping shape a "must have" channel that has stayed true to its mission and brand essence for two incredible decades.

Damn it! I so miss the early morning films accompanied by that montage, and Chet Baker singing "The sunny side of Life"
Themanwhocameback2 Just a quick heads-up-the song is actually titled ‘Look For The Silver Lining’
@@fever_spike Yes, I have it on the " LA Confidential" soundtrack CD. As well as other singers doing it. A senior moment.
I remember watching these as a kid, and how badly I wanted to live in that world.
likewise it became my fascination
I still wanna live in that world.
@@mrenygma181 Im now a filmmaker because of TCM
same. Espcially know after what's happened with Covid. Sometimes I wish I lived in this world.
Yes, "One Reel Wonders" and "Look for the Silver Lining", I wish I could step into both of them.
I am now a full time filmmaker living my dream because of my addiction to TCM (to TNT before it was TCM) since I was 10 years old. I am now 34.
I see your Imdb building. Congratulations, and keep at it. I wish more young people would appreciate the old classics.
37 ...
Despite many intro changes and a new logo, TCM is still what is it today.
The movie channel that operates like a premium one, but is actually included with most TV services from the get-go.
🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯
I hope future tv network operators are paying attention!
We had to languish several years without it, 2017-August 2022. So....
I used to watch this channel A LOT when I was younger. This was where I discovered one of my favourite movies of all time, the 1933 version of King Kong.
Thank you for compiling all of these. I love TCM, but it seems like they don't really make interstitials like this anymore
+Turner Classic Movies I wish that you would continue to air ALL of your old promos & bumps, in addition to the promos & bumps that you air now.
+optimegatrongodzilla your not alone. TCM has always been keeping it unique since they began. they haven't changed. though they should to reminisce.
+Westley “Wizard” West Indeed!
I know they're trying to stay modern with the theme they have now for their bumps but it feels very subdued when you compare it to these. They should highly consider replaying a lot of these (with maybe the exception of the Bill Cosby ones, haha). The only intro they still air out of all of these if the "Late Night" one.
My family including me watches TCM sometimes and they sometimes Pillarbox or Frame SD stuff. they can show some of these as a variation of what they used to have. at one point they still air the 1997 Version of the Turner Logo. other times they use a newer version of what they used to have to fit the HD Widescreen Picture. their website still has a homage of their branding hidden in their WatchTCM Page.
Westley West Can you please tell what to look for on the Watch TCM page? Can't notice it.
Man, I love Turner Classic Movies.
That's all right.
I have always loved this channel, back then i used to fall asleep to TCM after a night of partying and drinking haha, but also watching it as an innocent child. I love the feel of classic cinema. It was a different world back then
The coolest promo TCM ever did was for Summer Under the Stars 2005. Would love to see that again! Very dark and sexy.
5:03 -5:28 This clip has been lurking in the back of my mind for years, and I just rediscovered it now. Thank you for compiling this.
OMG exactly the same here! I'd been looking for this tune/clip since the mid 2000s!!!
Crazy how I hated TCM so much because my mama watched it ALL THE TIME when I was a little girl. Look at me now I’m 19 years old and looking at these bumpers. Good memories I appreciate 🤣❤️
Can I just say how much I love this channel?
Same with my mom
Turner Classic Movies is my all time favorite movie channel ever ❤️
The only thing I really miss about pulling the plug on cable is TCM. Wish TCM would make its film collection available pay for view on its website.
I probably watch this channel more than any now since our worthless Cable Co. Catalina Broadband Solutions pulled nearly all my favorite channels like AMC, IFC and BBC America.
Turner classic movies is available on sling. You have to sign up for 1 of their 20/25 packages and can add a movie package that includes TCM for an extra $5.00. I think Turner networks are starting a streaming channel (kind of a bare bones netflix) too that will have a about 1000 movies each month.
TCM is available on many streaming services with different plans for your budget. It's on Sling, Playstation Vue, and DirectTV Now. All you need is an internet connection to watch. There's also a separate streaming channel called "Filmstruck" by the same people at TCM and the Criterion Collection you may want to check out.
Their movies are on HBO Max
Very good I loved it I love tcm it's my favorite station
8:00 to 8:36 always captured my imagination wondering whatever happened to those people. What were their lives like. Their hopes and dreams and how they eventually played out. Makes me slightly melancholy.
Me too. It was simpler times back then 😮
It take back in the day for this beauty. Believe me I was 6 when they showed it. I was with bf at the time and he loves Turner classic movies also; same age. His name is Jonathan Alex Michael McNeal. My mom washes him every day at 4pm to 9pm and we love Turner Classic promos too! =)
I love Turner Classic Movie
And please, REMAIN commercial-free!!
+Linda Cooper TCM has and they will always will be. the only commercials you will see is promos to TCM Stuff.
Linda Cooper I also hope they never turn into AMC or IFC. I don't mind if they show "Diner" or "American Graffiti", but nothing else. Months ago they had a slap stick comedy month and instead of showing old black & white comedies, they had shown recent stuff like "Anchorman".
I miss you TCM it's the hit
Once part of the collaboration between Cartoon Network and Turner Classic Movies before cit bacame the two seperate networks in the 2000s alongside Adult Swin and Boomerang.
4:08 You know that face that is going to drug that lady with New Coke and Jello! xD
The Imports was my favorite... Janus Films
Loved it. Every second. All the work could be ontheair today.
They missed the one where that woman say's "Welcome to Turner Classic Movies, open all night."
This awesome! How didn’t I start watching this earlier!
What I'd love to know is the name of the beautiful clarinet intro that haunts me so, the one that's Benny Goodman smooth and sweet. If it is a studio musician bump, it certainly needs to be turned into a lengthy tune, it's simply that outstanding!
Are you referring to this interstitial?

If so, I'm happy to say I have a fond feeling for it, too.
Now tcm is now turning 30
0:48 Hey, isn't that Joe Jackson's version of "Jumpin' Jive"?
What is the song that is playing now for May, 2016 movie previews? I think 'fool's gold' is in the words, but not sure.
Love turner classic movies it's a damn shame u can't get it over the air
What is the absolute song at the end of the preservation showcase promo
Nostalgic
4:48 what song is this?
10:29-10:43 Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse theme.
excellent!
Hi!
It was probably too expensive to create these expensive promos. And now TCM is under new ownership. As long as they don’t interfere with the classic films or show commercials (remember AMC?) I’m fine with that 😊
Every midnights. Right after Cartoon Network.

Looking at the more than evident atrophy of the 2021-22 TCM artworks and "music" used as bumpers and introductions makes me wonder what happened to all that creativity at TCM...
Huh
what has happened to tcm? why do they keep showing the same movies over and over? so many classic movies not available to see. how many times can one watch "it happened one night"?
and these hosts, enough already with their love fest. it is so fake it is painful to watch, yet, drivel is shown over and over again as well. can't imagine the great robert o would be pleased.....
Hahaha
I knew when R Osbourne passed away that bob Mankawitz which comes from Hollywood royalty he was gonna suck cut the woke crap and play the flick.
Wow, a huge fan watching old clips. Please cut the overt rapist out of the promos you still choose to have online. Not a good look.
