Hi Julie, new to your tutorials but so glad to have come across them. I have the ruler and material. Will get the pattern asap. I can't wait to get started, thank you.
@@elizabethmika5090 Ask for it at your local quilt shop, many of the shops listed here will have it available: www.jaybirdquilts.com/2022/01/night-sky-sew-along.html Or you can get the PDF version here: bonus.jaybirdquilts.com/patterns
Have had this pattern and the rulers for several years but felt intimidated. Joined the sewalong and constructed my first three half blocks last night using some Pure Solids by AGF. LOVING IT AND FEELING ADDICTED - LOL. Who knew???
Thanks, Julie, can't wait to get started--and thinking it's time to get started! I am interested to see where this journey takes us, and how beautiful everyone's quilts will be!
Thanks so much for the demo! Somehow in your previous videos I missed the part about using both ends of the ruler to make the half triangles. You can't (or maybe you can) imagine the machinations I was going through to get the correct shape using just one end of the ruler!
You're welcome. Thanks for asking. For quilting, generally no. There are a few exceptions that I make from time to time, depending on the fabric and the project.
I have a question. When pairing the fabrics to cut the star points, half triangles, the directions say to put the light with a dark. Is there a way to match fabrics up if I want certain fabrics together as the outer points? Maybe that happens after all the cutting is complete but thought I'd ask before I get that far. Thanks.
Great question. When cutting the half triangles, start by matching up the fabrics that you want to be the outer points. When you cut them, you will get the outer point pairs that you want for that block. Does that help?
My dashboard shows you have received all 4 emails that we have sent to you and opened 2 of them. If you cannot find the other 2, send me an email and we will figure it out.
@@jaybirdquilts 🤔 okay ~ I’ll keep an eye out. I wasn’t sure if we were getting notifications when the videos come out. I wrote myself a note ~ that’s how I know they are up. Thanks.
The instructions are very clear on the pattern, however, it is also nice to get a visual. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.

Brilliant. Can't wait to sew pieces together! Fun, fun, fun! Good tip on not relying on lines on mats. Thanks, Julie!

Thank you for showing me how to do this. I am kind of a newbie on quilting, so anything I can learn helps...Be blessed!!!

Thank you for the hint about not using my cutting board. I normally use the lines and my ruler but I better depend on the ruler now more than ever!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks, Julie. Great video.

Great videos!!! I did Journey to Nebula and Nebula and still found this very helpful. Thank you. All my best to the little ones!
Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks Julie I'm still waiting on my pattern
The videos will be here when you're ready.
Thanks for the great instructions. Do you pre-wash your fabrics?

My strips are cut at 1 1/2”. How do i do this corr ecy
This pattern was not designed for strips of that size. You'll want to refer to the pattern directions for strip sizes to cut.
Do you starch?
No, I do not.
Thank you, Julie. I’m still not receiving e-mails. Not sure what to do.
