This is a woderful demo. Very clear and efficient. Trimming the points off the diamonds is a sanity saver when piecing. One thing that I do differently i flip the fabric not the ruler when cutting triangles. It's easier to see where the lines are supposed to be on the fabric without having to deal with parallax.
The rectangle is not long enough to cut a half triangle on each side of the diamond. With careful cutting you can get 1 that you can set aside for another project.
IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY TO CUT THIS PATTERN BESIDES THOSE FANCY RULERS?? I DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY EVERY RULER ON THE MARKET TO MAKE THINGS EASIER... IM NOT TRYING TO BE UGLYOR PETTY ABOUT THIS BUT STILL FOR THOSE OF US THAT ARE ON A FIXED INCOME ITS JUST NOT DO-ABLE... LOVE THE PATTERN BUT JUST CAN NOT STRECH MY PENNIES ANY FARTHER THAN THEY ALREADY ARE... 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔😭😭😭😭😭😭
Every one of my patterns comes with full size templates. Rulers are helpful, but not required. Additionally I understand the frustration of a ruler doing only one thing which is why I make sure there are many different patterns for each ruler. The Sidekick Ruler is used in 14 of my patterns.

When you first cut from your half charm, you could cut a half triangle. Then you can get 8 workable pieces from one charm piece!

What size strips do you cut for the borders?
That information is in the pattern.
