We are so excited to be on the Journey To Nebula with a group of customers at my shop in NY. Great video - very clear and easy to follow, you are making it so easy for us shopowners!
Thank you for the awesome tutorial. I am a beginner quilter (even though I made my first quilt over 20 years ago in high school). Life, work and four little kids keep me busy. I love quilting and this project is interesting and challenging. I wasn’t sure about signing up but after watching your videos I think I can do it. I’ve been intimidated by patterns but I can follow your tutorials. I just purchased the rulers online and I’m looking for patterns. I may even go sign up for the Nebula Kit. It’s so beautiful!
Oh my gosh that's brilliant using the triangle to find the point section to cut off! I'm terrible at estimating even though I measure them by my needle down to ensure they are perfect. Well maybe I'm a little too hard on myself but I like that exact even look and not having to fudge it.
Thanks for the informative video Julie. Still waiting for my pattern like a few others. Hopefully it will be in Australia soon. Looking forward to piecing the table runner. have an awesome week.
Getting excited to start...I am still waiting for rulers and patterns. Hopefully they arrive soon at the 🇨🇦 quilt shop I ordered them from. I'm a newbie, but your video makes me feel confident that I will be able to do this. Thank you!
I love the corner tip! I have done a few triangles before and really struggle to guesstimate that valley. I am still waiting for my patterns, so can’t join in just yet, but can’t wait 😊
I'm a few weeks behind because my mom has been in the hospital and I've been running around to take care of things for her. I just started cutting my pieces last night and hope to start assembling today. I'm thinking I might jump ahead to the right week pattern next just so I can enter some of the drawings and then go back to catch up with the ones I missed. Does it matter what order I do the patterns in? I guess I'm wondering if each weeks skill builds from the previous week's.
You'll want to watch the videos in order. The videos do build on each other. You don't have to make everything in order & it's OK to post the progress of where you're at. You don't have to be on schedule. Hope that your mom recovers well.
Question about trimming the points, could we trim both points at the same time when the ruler is aligned? There looks to be about the same amount to trim from top and bottom without moving the ruler. If I do this with my cutting be accurate or will they all be a little off?
I started cutting my background last night; had some issue with the pinked edge on my Moda jelly roll strips. Any tips for dealing with the pinked edges to ensure accuracy? Thank you.
OMG, thank you for showing exactly for Lefties. LOVE LOVE LOVE. :)
You are so welcome!
Thanks so much for the Sidekick Ruler cutting tutorial and for thinking of and having lefty cutting instruction!
Thank you for the tip on cutting the tips off the diamonds!
Thank you for including information about left hand and the tip about the tips on the triangles 🙌
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful to see you demo the rulers! Thanks Julie
Great video. I really have been having problems aligning my pieces. I never thought about cutting tips off.
Thanks for a really clear tutorial for cutting the diamonds, can’t wait to get started 🙂
Loved that you thought of the lefties! We are used to adapting to the right handed world - but it was nice not to have to think it out!
I am a lefty too!
Thanks for the leftie info!
Thanks for the lefty reminder! Can’t wait to get started on this project!
Thanks for the tip to trim off the corners. This will be fun!

Thanks for leftie info. Enjoy your hints.
Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you sew much for leading this journey for us! I feel sew much more comfortable now about these projects and Nebula!
My pattern is on its way! I am excited to start using my Sidekick ruler! Thanks for the tutorial for the lefties, super helpful!

Nice to see that you included lefties! I’m just here visiting to learn about your rulers. The super sidekick is on its way from across Canada 🇨🇦 !
Thanks Julie. Great to see the ruler in action! Look forward to starting once my pattern has arrived, hopefully next week 👍🏻

Can't wait to get started! The store I ordered my patterns from still hasn't recieved them so I'm still waiting on mine to get to me 😔

Already cut my background last night, now will go back and trim off the corners, Thanks for the tip.
Thank you for these video tutorials can’t wait to start
Any advice about picking colors/values for Seaside?
Pick 5 small scale feature prints and then a background that contrasts well off of them.
Julie, what is the ruler you used to cut this 2 1/2 strip

You can with this one size only. That trick doesn't work for the other sizes which is why I didn't mention it in the video.
Jaybird Quilts I figured as much. Thanks
The super sidekick is big and it's hard to trim off the ends!
You're right about that. It is easier to trim the ends with the Sidekick ruler.

Measure the strip & trim down to 2.5" if needed.
So what do you do if the strips are less than 2.5??
I suggest not using them for this project and saving them for a different project.
