Awesome video bro, and that AD300 pro is a very versatile and useful studio, strobe, so amazing for outdoors work when you need that type of POWER 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
That’s a fact the ability to be able to use it outdoors and in the studio is another reason that it is a great choice as well. I’ve used as a main studio light as well in many of my videos!
International T to the M to the I ..DD! It has a fengshui type of energy to it! I remember when the AD 200 used to be the go to device; but the question was always “will it be able to over power the sun”. The small flashes are powerful, especially for travel use case scenarios! The bigger devices are bulky..agreed.
The ad200 was the goat no doubt about it. The advent of the ad300 in a compact form was the icing on the cake for portability and power for international MIDD!
Few things…. Solid video second try cases filter Ad300 is probably the sweet spot most people don’t need a 600 To avoid going into hss again get a filter to go directly on your sensor. Travel friendly they had a sale Black Friday for a two pack
Facts! The ad300 pro is all you need once you have it, you'd say why did I get a 600 haha. Funny enough man I just love that variable on the lens especially the one that I have has so much flexibility the freewell K2! Its not out quite yet for general consumers but its in development. I do know a few people who love kase as well.
While at the recent WPPI, I came across the SMDV products. I invested in the SMDV B240. It has a similar form factor as the AD300, and the SMDV Flip 32" softbox is my OCF travel strobe now.
Dang, this is one I've been looking at for a while. How's the recycle time? I know the AD200 (at full power), kind gives up after a few bursts lol Is it similar to the AD200 at full power? Great video man! Got me looking at these now.haha
The difference in recycle time is minimal especially at full burst haha. But Im able to get the shots I need with the recycle time it has, also I never find myself shooting at full power unless its a bright sunny day and im in HSS.
if you pair it with a Godox RFT-23 Reflector it will give you an additional stop of light compared to the original AD300pro-reflector, which means you get easily to the light output of an AD600
I recently bought AD400 Pro and bringing this for travel or regular photoshoot is a pain since I need to bring separate bag for it alone. I also upgraded my lightstand because of the weight.
Yeah thats the reason I don't recommend it for travel because it makes the process a bit more difficult! And even needing an upgraded lightstand to handle the weight adds even more to make the case.
A very good wrap up. Personally, I'm surprised how long the batteries last but I do agree with you that the lightstand mount that attaches to the underside of the strobe is not well designed and it's quite hard work to ensure that it attaches securely. I was interested to see you're using a Godox mount deep parabolic. Was that Glow EZ-lock? I don't think it's available here in the UK. What I have (that is Godox mount) is the Godox 65SW and the Godox 85SW. Are there other native Godox mount light shapers that you're aware of?
That was an ez lock indeed. Im not sure of any others that were made beyond that. I do remember someone else form the UK telling me a while back that they couldnt get it either.
Blame on me but I didn't consider to just use my S2-adapters for the AD300 instead of the ones you can buy for. I will send them back as it is much easier to mount and you don't have to screw the adapter on and off with the four screws when putting the strobe back in the backpack (to save space). Thanks for this obvious but simple thing :-) I bought the 2 AD300+CB20 backpack set recently. Greetings from Germany!
I hear that there a color shifts in the ad300 pro. Also it doesn't stay put, it tilts after awhile when a heavy modifer is attached to it. Did/do u experience that?
Seems like using the S2 completely negates the benefits of the Godox mount. Certainly a lot more options for Bowen mount modifiers. Whe not just use a sturdier swivel adaptor? There’s a ton of them out there that people use with umbrellas.
Probably if I didnt have the s2 already I would of went for a better adapter. But since I have it I opt to use it and it comes in handy for situations where someone may have a bowens modifier if I want to try it out.
@@TMIDD thannk you I figured it out. The s2 bracket will allow me to use the modifier I want! Didn’t realize you covered it in your video. THANK YOU! I wanted a modifier with the ripple reflector effect for thr ad300 pro
Ad200 is cheaper and the same thing naw I’m good. Godox just getting all the money they can get. Yeah you would be darn fool to put any camera or strobes under the plane. Everything goes on carryon EVERYTHING!
Definitely grabbing one for travel. I have 2 ad200’s and a ad400 pro but yeah I’m on the go a lot now. Great video bro 💪🏾💪🏾
The ad300 will be your best friend especially on the go! The 400 just adds a bit more hassle to the struggle 😂

That is a really cool Godox AD-300. The durability, cordless and brightness sure worked really good with your photoshoot. Great video !
These are all great characteristics of the light for sure!
Ordered mine last week. It’ll be here tomorrow!
Let me know what you think! Congrats
This will def be in my upgrade path coming from AD200 & V1, which for now will be my travel flash along with a 3-7 stop VND filter. Great video 👍🏽
That’s a solid setup for now!
I love my AD-300 as well for portability as well.
its a great light hands down I cant complain especially as much as I have dropped it and it still works😅
Bro's got such a calm vibe, bless

Literally my main flash. Switched over from the 600 and never looked back
Listen that 600 is nice but why lug all that around when you can get everything you need from the 300 🔥🔥🤯

The first time I was introduced to that company was through their softbox. How does that light hold up while traveling in bright conditions?
@@TMIDD SMDV lights are working fine for me. They’re not really new to the game. Just unknown.
Yeah I seen them at a few events myself. Def unknown compared to the other brands out there!
I bet the Mark 2 version is about to be release. Only because I have an AD300 in my cart ready for checkout.
🤣 listen isnt that the worst thing right there haha! but i think your good to pull the trigger on this one.
awesome content man keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
I always think about buy this for traveling but always talk myself out of it!
Buy it, you won’t regret the purchase at all….
ad200 pro It is another good option
Absolutely agree with you! I have both, thanks for watching and your recommendations
Another great video. I been thinking of getting the ad300 for traveling versus bringing my ad400 all the time lol

I have a ad600 I won’t let go of but maybe I can grab this to replace my ad200
Yeah I wouldn’t let it go but I will say you may find yourself reaching for the ad600 less and less with that ad300 on your team 😎

Agreed. I considered buying those exact ones as well and them boom, I said to myself just use your S2! Thanks for watching Thomas.
Shout out to the wind on The Banks in Cincinnati lol
😅 between there and Kentucky my light went down 3 times smh

Yeah I touched on that towards the end of the video. My solution is using the s2 bracket which is more sturdy.
@TMIDD indeed. But what about the color shift aspect? Because I am thinkin about purchasing this item.
@@Isaypreach the color shift is minimal honestly, I see very little difference from all the images that I have taken.
what stand and softbox used?
