  • The Blackstone Pellet Grill Griddle Combo is here! We’ve been so excited to get this new Blackstone grill and griddle combo unit, because we’re big fans of combining our pellet grill and griddle for different recipes… When you add the smoky flavor from the pellet smoker with the sear factor and high heat of the griddle, you get some delicious food!
    In this Blackstone pellet grill and griddle review, we’ll go over our first thoughts on the new unit and point out some of the main features. Then we’ll season the Blackstone griddle and the pellet smoker for the first time and take a look at the Blackstone grill app. Plus, we’ll see how the cooking space stacks up - spoiler alert: the griddle is actually quite a bit larger than my other Blackstone 22” griddle.
    We can’t wait to start cooking on this new Blackstone griddle and pellet grill combo - so be sure to come back and check out some different cooks that use both the pellet grill and griddle!
    Check out our pellet grill RUclips channel here: / @pelletsandpits

    It is nice, but Lowes really screwed me over and am scared to ever get a griddle from there. I got a griddle and asked for it NOT assembled because I didn't trust them... well it came assembled, missing nuts, doors were on upside down and scratched the heck out of it, and the side table was so bent it didn't come out and was so scratched it was starting to rust. I asked for a refund... here Customer Service sent my replacement request to a store in Florida while I'm in NY... we finally got the refund/replacement request to the right store... and then a DIFFERENT store picked up the griddle from my house... Three stores involved. That was in August and I am still waiting for a refund or replacement. I have no griddle, paid for it, waiting for a replacement or refund. They say there was a refund but they can't find the refund receipt and the payment method I used does not have a refund... and we started a dispute 5 times now. No progress.

    Got mad respect for a RUclips reviewer who buys the products with their own money.
    I’m really into smart home tech and a lot of the creators I follow get truck loads of free stuff in addition to paid promos all the time. They make tons of content showing off their free stuff. It feels like a huge disconnect despite the obligatory “but my opinions are my own” statement.
    It’s refreshing to see someone who makes content that is beneficial to me who has their own skin in the game.

      Well I appreciate that...BUT to be upfront and completely honest I do receive units free..and have my own standards when reviewing...they are told upfront and some have actually decided not to send...and no hard feelings...i just tell it like it is....once someone gets anything I cook on they would be able to see the same thing I do....so regardless of free or not we have a brand and standard ourselves....I aslo do not sign with companies based on this....I want to be natural and honest

    Neal, with that top rail smoke vent - I’d look into dampering that with a line of aluminum foil if you could make it work. Without seeing the inside and how that setup is, if you reduced the amount of smoke that escapes you could reasonably maintain a better temperature consistency and keep your smoke from following the thermal exhaust and exiting the cook chamber. I did that with my Even Embers (yes I know it’s a cheapo, but it’s my first pellet smoker and I’m doing quite ok with it) and it made the world of difference with both of those issues. Smoke on, buddy!!!

    You only need to hold the "prime" button down for 3 seconds once the auger is full. However, if you live in a humid climate, I strongly recommend you never leave pellets in your auger chute. Did that with the pitboss and they disintegrated and then fused together into a hard mass. I spent the better part of a day taking my pitboss apart, drilling, soaking, chipping to remove the auger to clean it and the chute out.

    For my Traeger I use Lumberjack pellets. They are made from 100% real wood fibers. No fillers like some other brands. My smoker performs 1000x better after the switch, both in flavor, and in consistency during the cook. I highly recommend their competition blend!

    I really could not justify the price of this unit . I bought my Cuisinart Oakmont pellet grill on sale for $300 at Wal-Mart year and half ago love it not one problem with the grill and I smoke just about every weekend. And just bought my first Blackstone 28" adventure on sale for $170 at Wal-Mart as well ( have only cooked on it 3 times but loving it too ) unless your really looking for a 2 in one for space and are willing to pay extra for the convenience . If its just about the extra storage you can still get a prep cart and still be below the asking price of $1200 for this unit.

    I have used several different pellet grills over the years and I always put foil on the drip tray. I have since stopped doing it. You can season the drip tray to prevent rust, and its pretty easy to clean, just scrape it with a putty knife and you're done. With doing the foil I was starting to get a lot of rust since nothing was protecting it.

    • @TheFlatTopKing
      @TheFlatTopKing  7 месяцев назад

      although I agree...i do not use foil either...thats exactly what the instructions say to do...when buying and reviewing new units I think its important to follow the manual till I have enough time to gather true first hand information...

    Aside from my trusty Gerber multitool, I stay away from combo anything as it seems like there's always a built-in compromise. That being said, a flat top is straightforward/simple, so if the smoker gets better and when the price drops, I would consider this. Salute, fellow Vet!!

    I’m just going to say it, been thinking it. There’s a lot of features that I think they got from Pit boss. 1. The rolling back hood, same as the competition series, 2. the diamond shaped grates, 3. The control board is exactly the same as the Pro series 2, 4. The pellet dump is in the same spot as pit boss. Just things I’ve seen watching this is all, that stood out to me

      It is a Lowe’s unit. Lowe’s is typically going to be hungry Hussey and Nate. I do Walmart exclusively with some ace stuff thrown in. As the company has expanded, we’ve had to segment things out like that. In 2023 Blackstone released 54 new units!

    My neighbor works for Blackstone & told me about this grill. My grip is the griddle & wish it was an open burner. He agreed with that & keeps telling them you have more uses with the open burner. Their thing is the griddles but you can put a pot on them. I heard Blackstone is working on some new projects & I’m interested in the new smoker they’re developing. Right now I’m more interested in the Camp Chef pellet grill that you can add an open burner to the side. I have some early Camp Chef 2 burners before Blackstone came to town & I like Camp Chef better.

    I'd be a little concerned with that digital readout and the probe holes being at an angle like that. It feels like it could get more rain damage if not under cover than a normal one where it sits flat. Also, most of the time where I am checking temps, I'm doing it from inside, so that upward angle is really only good when I am setting it up or at the smoker. Overall, I think I would rather have the two separate as you mention at the end of your video because the smoker seems the correct size for most people, but the griddle seems a bit on the small side. Would have rather seen a 28".

    I went to see this at Lowe’s a few days ago, and I REALLY wanted to like it. My problem is the lack of a way to clean out the burn pot. My camp chef is easy to clean out, but it is getting long in the tooth, so I’m looking for a replacement. Pit Boss Elite has something like that as well, and I’m leaning towards that one right now. I also like the PB Elite for the stainless steel grill bars. I’ll be excited to see your thoughts on this as you use it over time. (But don’t take too long…My outdoor kitchen/poolhouse/ramada will be done in about a month, and I would like to make a decision by about then 😉).

    Often times after cleaning the burn pot or when it's otherwise empty you can just take a partial handful of pellets to get it started. At least that's what my old smoker needed. I like the combo so that if you're cooking something that needs smoked and griddled then you're good to go. Curious how it will be useful. Look forward to future videos.

    Well-done video, and it looks like a great unit. There is one issue I noticed. When putting the foil on the grease tray make sure it is entirely flat. If it is not the grease will pool and you will end up with a grease fire. I only know from reviewing Recteq grills that have a similar grease tray design and that it also happened personally to my grill.

    I literally just want a larger version of the blackstone tailgater. A gril/griddle combo and I’m not sure why blackstone hasn’t done that. It’s such a missed opportunity.

    Good video review. $1200+tax for this combo for me is way too expensive. AND you have to tear it apart to clean the ashes out of the fire pot? C'mon Blackstone. I have a Camp Chef I got brand new and on sale for $169. It has a lever that you pull and the ashes fall in a cup. I can already see a redesign in the future if Blackstone wants to sell this for a high price.

  • @rpbonnette
    @rpbonnette 7 месяцев назад

    Is it a double walled hood on the pellet smoker. What’s the Low and High temps on the grill? I’ll be interested to see how you think the pellet smoker stacks up against your others. I’m sure it won’t be as good as the Lone Star Grilz or the Traeger Ironwood but maybe equal to your PitBoss smoker. I own a Recteq 1250 pellet smoker and a 22” Blackstone and patio space and storage space is a big consideration that a single unit such as this might be the solution IF the pellet smoker is of decent quality. The fact that you mention how slow it was to get to temp will be good to know. Anyway, glad you’re spending the cash and then willing to share your opinion. Thanks.

    • @kevinc1956
      @kevinc1956 7 месяцев назад +1

      Freezy, I find indoor range-top griddles to be more messy when cooking some items, and generally more work to clean. Cleanup of my steel griddle surface outdoors is very easy because grease spatter stays within the larger griddle surface and most cleanups consist of just a good scraping and then oiling! I also bought an enclosed prep cart, so now I store all my griddle/smoker utensils out on my patio year-round (in plastic bins inside the prepcart). When cooking, I just carry food out to the griddle/smoker on a prep tray, and maybe eat outside in nice weather. I do clean utensils in my kitchen dishwasher before returning them to the outdoor prep cart for storage. I also admit to not using my griddle much during the winter months in SoDak. Prefer to keep the heat indoors then.

      @kevinc1956 makes sense..this unit would complete the 'trinity' of outdoor cooking I'd assume..lol. I bought a Blackstone Cooktop Combo (two side burners) last year. I keep under a cover and in a shelter. But in less than a year the sidewalls were all chipping, flaking and rusting terribly. The cover for the side burners is also chipping and rusting. Not happy with the quality of their material or the quality of painting. It cooks great and side burners work great. But I will never buy another blackstone. Very disappointing.
