- Ajay Bisaria joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1987 and, in a career spanning thirty-five years, dealt with some of India's key economic and security relationships. He served as Indian high commissioner to Pakistan from 2017 to 2020. He has been Indian high commissioner to Canada (2020-22), and India's ambassador to Poland and Lithuania (2015-17). He has also represented the country at the World Bank in Washington DC and in embassies in Berlin and Moscow. He has served in various capacities in the Ministry of External Affairs, Department of Commerce, and the Prime Minister's Office, where he was a key aide to Prime Minister Vajpayee from 1999 to 2004.
He has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from St Stephen's College, Delhi University, an MBA from IIM Calcutta, and a Master's Degree in Public Policy from Princeton University.

Atalji was very soft in nature, I remember that when IC814 was highjacked, the meeting was going on continuously and no decision was taken in time. Pakistan was misunderstood by atalji.
On one side atalji was very soft and noble person and on the other hand Musharraf was very cunning and shrewd

Arihant your observation is absolutely pertinent. Vajpayee was nothing but a talking gas. He did nothing for National Security. Compare this to Modi Ji's policy. No match with Modi ji. What ambassador said is absolutely non convincing.

Bajpai was poet and having soft heart , he wanted friendship with Pakistan like Nehru wanted friendship with china. He never tried to strengthen army even after backstabbing by Pakistan.

Love your podcasts - BUT Arihant .. man - you do have to find a better placement of that mike stand with your guest. It comes right in the face and is interfering with our focus when watching example: 28:06. Bend it from the bottom upwards than the other way around.
When vajpayee was in opposition he was barking like we will destroy Pakistan, we will take over POK, we will teach Pakistan a lesson. When he became prime minister and went to Lahore, parliament attack happened, kargil attack happened and Indian airlines hijacking happened during his term and celebrating vijay divas after getting 600 Jawan killed in kargil, shame on you vajpayee.

Vajpayee was no doubt very patriotic person. But found him very weak when it came to military action against Pakistan. Attack on parliament was attack on India's sovereignty. IC814 , Mr.Doval had clearly said that they tried all military type action to free IC814, however the Geography of Afghanistan, no diplomatic relation with Afghan Taliban or its then govt.
