Yessss, this one's a masterpiece! And I think part of what makes it so effective is the sound design: everything feels so raw and real and IMMEDIATE, not like some professionally-produced sound effects. They really did such a brilliant job on this film.

The scene that really got me was when the guy was approaching the young girl with his hand out. I mean I knew she was going to do something but I just didn't know what it was. And boy oh boy was I terrified when she reacted.

This is probably one of my favorite horror movies of all time. Regarding the sequel REC 2 is the only one I'd say is good, it certainly is scarier. But I think they tried too hard to explain what happened and it gets a little convoluted. And part of the charm of this one is that element of mystery. A story doesn't have to be explained completely to be good. And I don't think the main characters are as well rounded and interesting as this one. Both Angela and Pablo are such magnetic protagonists, even if some find Angela annoying, she is certainly brave and realistic in her responses and Pablo is even more awesome because we don't even see hia face at all yet he manages to be symphatetic. And of course the MVP Manu. The part when you said that's the moment you would've dropped the camera is interesting, because a lot of reactors say the same thing, yet it was the precise moment Pablo *couldn't* stop using the camera, because it is the only source of light and later on, he and we can only see through it. Msking the recording device so integral to the plot is brilliant.
I didn't finish watching but I wanted to say, as a spanish speaker myself (from Arg) , it's exciting that you are watching a spanish speaking movie😊 I've never watched this one tho, bc I'm really scared of everything and I've heard that this one is pretty terrifying. And yes, the spanish they speak is from Spain ✨

Lemme tell you, it gave me a fear of the dark that I STILL have at 31 directly thanks to this movie. I slept with all of my lights on for three nights after that 😂 no but seriously, this is one of the best found footage films of all time

wait a sec how did I miss this?? when I first watched this film, I was at a point where I thought I've become very desensitized to horror films... but then that night after watching the film, I couldn't fall asleep because I kept imagining that thing in the end popping out of the dark and dragging me away. definitely one of my favorite horror movies. I remember there was also a video someone edited where they took the theme of 28 days later and put it over the stairwell chase scene and it fit really well. (it might be taken down by now due to copyright policy changes over the years)
This movie and it’s English counterpart quarantine are some of the best horror found footage movies to exist. The actresses in both films are so important to the fear that is injected into this film. The panic the chaos it makes you feel there and actually anxious. The found footage style works so well in this movie because we are in an open yet confined space. Such a great film.

Something that i think is unique about these movies is that what makes the zombies actually isn't a virus or anything like that it's demons kind like in the Evil Dead movies oh yeah and MovieFusion you definitely should watch the other REC movies
Watch Rec 2 dude! It's actually really good and gets into the backstory which is interesting. This is my top 5 horror movies, I think found footage is a style with infinite potential

Yup. Watched this when I was a teenager. To this day I haven’t seen something as terrifying as the last 20 minutes of this film
This movie is just fantastic!!! I’d definitely recommend watching the 2nd one it adds some more lore onto the infection

"Quarantine" is a poorly done remake, like all Hollywood remakes, they simply don't understand what makes the original good.
One of my favorite horror films. The shot down the stairwell, when they're all screaming up at the camera, is amazing.

"Quarantine" is a extremely poor executed remake of this movie. "REC" is Astronomical Units superior in terms of filmography and portrayal.
