"What is that?" "It's a terrible thing." "Oh my God! What is that?" "I don't know! Something else! Also terrible." Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut for T.J. Miller. Casting Notes Fact: T.J. Miller and Ben Feldman starred together in Silicon Valley (2014). Voice Play Fact: The voice in the mysterious radio broadcast that plays after the end credits is director Matt Reeves. Blink And You'll Miss It Fact: During the bridge crossing you can see another individual with a camera trying to record everything. Near the end of the film when they are at the fair you see something drop from the sky on the right-hand side. Count It Out Fact: The words "Oh my God" or some variation are spoken 85 times throughout the film. The running time of the film, without credits, is about 80 minutes, the length of a long-running MiniDV tape, a common format used in consumer camcorders. Getting Ahead Fact: The head of the Statue of Liberty is shown about 50% larger than actual size. CG supervisor David Vickery said in an interview that many people imagined the head being much bigger than it actually is, and that the size was increased due to complaints that the head looked too small in the trailer.
I love all of these facts, thanks for sharing! I think enlarging the Statue of Liberty head definitely added dramatic effect. & I love that Matt Reeves voiced the radio broadcast, that's awesome!
Fact: cloverfield is not in the same universe of 10 cloverfield lane. Other fact : the other girl/lily that got in the first helicopter is still alive and that burning thing that came flying was a car
I was reading how initially it was it's own separate thing but then JJ Abrams wanted it in the same universe so they just changed the name and included small things to somewhat tie it in!
After the other movies were made they're all now in the same universe. The Cloverfield incident was the starting point of the reality altering phenomenon in this franchise.
I'm so freaking glad you guys reacting to Cloverfield! This is literally my top #1 movie ever since 6th grade when it came out! You guys should do I am legend & as above so below after this 🙏 loving the channel & content 😎😎😎
This was directed by Matt Reeves, who did the batman (2022) and the last two planet of the apes movies. I think was his first big movie and he's super underrated, also the fact that they were still shooting the movie when the trailer came out is wild , from what i heard the production was pretty chaotic lol
@@HighlyHorrifiedReactions you should def watch it! its not a horror movie but just like cloverfield its got some horror elements. Reeves makes Batman feel like a horror movie villain sometimes, its a detective movie too. and its probably the most comic book accuate version of batman
@theboogiekhight7327 I imagine it's eventually killed and that's probably going to be what's covered in the planned direct sequel. IF it ever gets made. lol.
not even the military can’t stop the monster even the nukes ☢️ couldn’t do much but it gives the idea theoretically if there were existing monsters i seen this before in 2008 before.
You kids (i only assume you are young because you remarked being scared of 2012 as a child 😅) reacting to these movies i saw after college is such a weird experience. Cloverfield still feels modern despite no smart phones. Nobody could shut up about this movie at the time, there are rarely good found footage movies anymore like this that try something different
Great reaction to a pretty underrated movie. I love when disaster movies like this dont have a scientist who magically knows exactly whats going on and what to do about it. That guy whos voice you recognized is TJ Miller. Best known for Silicon Valley and Deadpool 2. It isnt found footage, but there is another underrated movie similar to this called Underwater (2020) staring Kriisten Stewert .. and TJ Miller. BTW great taste in horror movies going by the posters behind you but I cant make out what the poster is next to House of 1000 corpses.
I completely agree, it definitely adds a level of fear with it being more grounded in reality! The poster next to that one is Halloween III (lol) I need to update a little!
@@HighlyHorrifiedReactions Friday the 13th isnt the greatest horror movie series around but the poster for the first film might be my favorite. Check it out if you are looking for a new poster.

i guess because you are young you dont understand how those old camcoders work... it was not on for 7 hours... it was only on for the duration of what you see... so its been actually on for less than 2 hours... just saying.
he starts recording at 7pm at the party and the camera is on until 7am the next morning. They shoot everything in that span of time in the movie. what am i not understanding?
@@HighlyHorrifiedReactions no, they did not shoot everything on the span of those 7 hours.. they only shoot the parts you see.... let me give you an example... after Marlene dies and the military guy lets them go.. hud only gets a bit of footage walking.. then we get a bit of footage of the horse, then we get a bit of footage about 2 blocks from beth's place where hud gives the idea to go in the other building then you are already at the building... what does that mean? it means in between each shoot you turn off the camera.. because from one part to the other it can be 5, 15, 25 min apart... like you dont have the camcorder on the whole time... like Huds idea walking like 2 blocks away to the next scene already in the building's elevators... well try walking 2 blocks see how long it takes you to walk them... all of that time the camera is off... and as an old 44 y/o dude that has plenty of miniDv camcorder videos from back in the day backpacking in Europe i can tell you that one charge can last you the whole day. and you can at least record 1 and half to 2 tapes on one charge .. the footage is basically the contents of just one miniDV tape. and on a side note... this movie has a lot of lore.. was probably one of the first augmented reality movies, i mean that was kind of jj abrams thing with Lost, all the dudes in this flick even had myspace pages you could add them and stuff... i just found your channel maybe you already reacted to the other things i will check you channel out. sorry for my broken English, its not my first language.

I hope to see a first time reaction to Jaws (1975) and Alligator (1980) and Tremors (1990) the greatest creature feature movies ever created and The Thing (1982) and The Shining (1980) and Alien (1979) the greatest horror movies ever created and Aliens (1986) the greatest sci-fi action and horror movie ever created as well:).

This movie manages to channel Godzilla, the Blair Witch Project, and 9/11, all at the same time. Not bad for a relatively low budget movie.
you’re so right! I do give a lot of credit for what they were able to do with their budget

Odetta was in The Unborn and Kindergarden Cop. TJ Miller, the camera guy, is in Deadpool and She's Outa My League.
They haven’t killed a monster yet. look at the end of the movie the credits. The guy said is still alive, but it’s muffled.
Well jj Abram has said that it got killed by the bombing or eventually

The monster is technically like Godzilla because it came out of the Atlantic ocean it was awakened by submarines and was very upset about it
