Wow, Monk's Active Tiles is so powerful. I usually drop ouple of images as a tiles for the theatre of the mind, never thought about switching them
I know, right its bonkers how much it can do... Thanks
Another amazing video! I have never used Monk’s Active tiles for this before. I am going to use it in my Star Wars Game and even the bridge viewer on my Star Trek Adventures game as well! Cheers
Oh wow that sounds amazing. If you post any of it send a link if you do when the time comes.
I'll have to give this a try. Keep up the good work.
Thanks will keep trying..
Great work Axium, keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Amazing idea !
Great, now I have even more work to do lol
The Prep Never ends :-)
You are amazing and just made my game so much cooler. Thanks!!!
Your welcome hope it helps.
Fantastic! This is greatly appreciated!
You're very welcome!
Very helpful video Thank you
My wishlist - more Monks Active Tricks :)
More to come on that... :-)
Love this!
I was hoping people would find it useful thanks.
with foundry version 12 the tile at the back which holds the "screen" for the picture being changed briefly shows in front of the transparent background tile while changing images. Is any fix for this?
I have seen this are you fading the tiles on change that I do currently have turned off.
Could you display NPC of Monster PNGs in the scenes, and swap them out in front of the background, possibly with them appearing in one of a few locations?
With monk active tiles yes that would be possible.
@@AxiumVTT I will look into monk active tiles. Thank you.
This is really amazing dude!
I have at the moment three different TOTM scenes for the level of Undermountain my players are in and I switch between each one depending on what part of the level they are in, but each one has a prompt to play a sound when it is activated.
For the same sounds I can create as a macro, therefore it should work if each trigger for each image also has a 'run macro' action too, right?
Update, just tried it with a run macro for sounds and it worked perfectly. Not only did the new sound start playing when I clicked another image, but it also stopped the old one.
I believe you can trigger a macro if required or you can just have another trigger on the tile to play a sound or a playlist that’s all possible. 👍
Amazing video man!
I absolutely love the concept and it works so well with the game I am hosting. But I have a question... When wanting to make new backgrounds like the forest and space ones you have made; what would be the easiest way of going about that?
I saw the layers in photoshop with the woods and space backgrounds. Is it possible to just change those pictures in the layer to something else? But if there is an easier way I would love your input as I am a huge noob with photoshop haha.
Hi you can change the images to anything you like. The main tile has all the images in the images section just change or delete them or add new ones.
What module do you use that has the character's AC and such in the bottom right? That seems very useful!
Thats comming from the module monks token bar.
How would the scene file be used or imported? I'm new to Foundry VTT so I realize the answer is probably obvious to most. I did create a scene and use your graphics with Monk's active tile triggers to make it work as described so I'm assuming the scene file would have set everything up for me. Thank you, this is a great example!
The Scene file should setup stuff but you may have change the graphics locations on the tiles to where ever you store the images in your foundy. Create a scene give it any name and save it. Then right hand click on the scene in the scenes directory side panel and select import data and point it at the json file. Without packaging everything up into a module this is a close as I can get for imports at the moment.
@@AxiumVTT BOOM! Import worked great but did lose the target for the triggers. Since I'm still learning, doing it the slow way was helpful but in the future, I'll start with loading the json. Thank you!
How did you make the top tile? The one with the transparent hole?. (Please dont say photoshop)
You know what’s coming photoshop in my case there is always gimp as a option for doing that kind of thing.
I wanted to do something like this but show a cinematic or cutscene, is this possible with this method or can you only use still images?
This will run webm files if you want it to show a looped animation yes audio would have to be dealt with seperatly but could be done. you also in V10 gain video journal entries which is another way of getting somthing like what your after too.
would it be possible to set a trigger for a second level within the Theatre of the mind screen? Like showing NPC's showing up?
You can have as many triggers as you like on a tile so that would be possible.
