Thank you for these exercises. I need to pratice them a lot. Especially the chicken wing and the double stops, because I'm still a beginner (I'm learning cello since october last year) at cello, not as music though, I've been a musician for my whole life. I love music. Thank you, Wendy, for making these helpful videos! ❤

Saludos, tremendo video, encontré muy práctico lo de las alas de pollo. Pero por supuesto lo del vibrato al aire innovador.

Love your videos. Can you make a video just for the Cossman exercise and maybe for the double stop as well?

Great videos Wendy! It would be great if you could dedicate a video to how to extend the left hand property when reaching half tone further... It's very challenging for many beginners like me :)

Hi, I have question to your second point twins and triplets. I saw many teachers teach this way online. But my kid’s teacher taught him to only use one finger to press and lift all other fingers and the teacher said otherwise later when it comes to vibrato he has to fix the fingers if at the beginning to keep all fingers down. He also mentioned there would be pros and cons both ways. Does it make sense?

Hi Wendy, do you have a matching set of right hand exercises? eg building strength and fluidity and stringcrossing. Not played for 30 years (was National Orchestra level as a teen) and determined to play 6 Suites by the end of the year!

Is it ok, as a beginner cellist pretty significant arthritis to play a smaller cello because I do not have the finger spread to be able to play first position. Once I get to 3ed or 4th I can reach The intervals better. I tried a 3/4 cello and was able to play the 1/2 step intervals much more accurately. Arthritis I don’t seem to have too much problem with thumb positions. I played a half size, with pretty amazing results. But it looks like I was trying to play a toy. But Double stops seem to be more in pitch. My cello teacher told me I should keep the play the full size. I’m not sure if I should change Cellos or the teacher. I might also explain I’m 66 years old. I liked your idea to play my practice music slower. That helped a lot. This part I’m not sure you might not like. I started out on an electric fretted NS 5 string cello. Thinking I could just make the transition from classical guitar. I found a Cello built in the 1860s in a pawn shop for $450.00. Sounds great. I’m just struggling with the reach.

Quick question, I have been playing cello for a couple years, I took a 8ish month break and for some reason i can’t seem to keep string ring when lifting a finger from a pizzicato. Any tips to practice minimizing string ring?
