What a great channel name... Such an accurate reflection of real life.
@@guyguillermo569 Thank you very much for the kind words and for watching!
I LOVE the panels idea! I was dreading attempting sheetrock. This is brilliant! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much for watching
It’s probably common knowledge by many, but did you glue, nail, or screw the panels up?
Also, was there trim tape for running over seams?
Project looks great!
Thanks for info!
I was going to go with a regular woodgrain but after seeing this I am going with the weathered wood! Looks great and I'm also going to steal your idea on the matching workbench!
Just found this, great job. Love the look, considering the same for my garage project. Only problem, the same panels are now $34 at Home Depot. A lot has changed in 5 years !
This looks great. I'm looking for alternatives to drywall in a garage gym. Didn't know this was a thing. Thanks
I have the same dimension garage, except 12' ceilings. I am considering this as an option, it looks clean. Mine is a detached garage that is 90% garage only. Not really a place to hang out or spend much time. I'm not planning to insulate ceiling or walls. Thanks for the visual on what my garage will look like so i feel comfortable pulling the trigger on this.
I can’t believe how my garage foot print looks so close to yours..TV spot and everything.. 26x28. You definitely gave me some great ideas to incorporate into mine.. thanks man.. good luck with your ceiling.
That is awesome!
I was considering the paneling option In a whitewashed finish and after seeing your video this the way I'm going. The motion detector that shuts everything off is a nice touch. Thank you!!!!
Thank you and good luck with your project!
Great ideas! I have an unfinished garage that keeps turning into a spider palace. Putting up some thing for walls will probably help. I know I don’t love vacuuming the ceiling and in between all of the walls constantly.
Thanks for the great idea! Just moved into a new home with a one car garage and need to finish it, just bare studs, this will be a great and easier way, thanks again for showing this.
Congrats on the new home and good luck with your project!
That looks great I've been at Home Depot 10 times now purchasing different panels taking them back not being able to decide after I seen your video I'm going with what I chose first and that's what you have! Looks great in there man! Nice work. Ill have to post a video when I get done with mine.
Did you end up installing? Did you put sheetrock or anything behind it?
Ive seen many videos out there and wow! I was amazed how wonderful looking yours came out. Love the look. Definitely the best I've seen. Keep up the awesome work!
Love this dude!! I’m reorganizing my garage myself and I was looking for that exact grey weathered look. Love it! I’m a newbie with being even remotely handy so hopefully I won’t mess it up.
After watch this video last week I have decided to do the same. The only difference is the price of the panels now. $39 each. I will be installing them tomorrow to my garage. Thank you for the idea.
Did you end up installing? Did you put sheetrock or anything behind it?
No. I used glue, and nails to the 2 x 4 ‘s
@@BounceHouseRentalsCT Thanks. Alot of bowing and flexing?
@@troybower9419 only one of them. I need to reattach one corner.
Garage looks great. The stairs look nice with the natural wood color to give it dimension and pop. Great job!
All them Chevys you’re a man of my own heart👍
Thank you for the video I had no idea they had these sheets for the walls. I will definitely be doing this over dry wall
Looks great. My current hangups are wiring pulled below the joists during new construction. Never spliced coax or phone. Also they had squished r19 in the ceiling joists that have 6" hvac, so trying to figure out a better alternative. Lastly the walls are hardiplanks, so they're not flat, not ideal for finding studs or adding outlets, and not great at holding screws. Starting to replace it with osb.
I just subscribed to your channel, what caught my eye was the led lights you installed that led to Binge watching all the others.
I have a wood shop in my garage and it had ugly oak paneling on the walls, I too had T5 lamps and the color was horrible I had the daylight lamps.
I painted the walls and ceiling with bright white ceiling paint from HD about $85:00 for 5 gallons, I then removed the T5’s and installed 5000k LEDs at 4800 lumens, these are two tube led lights. I have 8 of them in the garage wow is it bright in here now. The reflected light off the ceiling and walls really brightens up the area. When you remove the exterior siding and put in the ceiling painting ceiling white will really help.
I am glad to hear your surgery went well take it easy, I will be looking forward to new video.
That looks really sweet he gave me a great idea thanks for posting it
So I have a pool house that I’ve converted into a garage/bar area for my new car. A Cadillac CTSV. When I saw your caddy in the garage I knew I’d like this video.
I'm jealous! The V is a BEAST! Thanks for watching!
This is a great idea!!! I am working on my pole barn shop.
Looks amazing! Have you had any problems hanging things with the paneling?
Really like the finish, I am stuck with fire resistance sheetrock since mine is attached to a living space (code/safety)
Man that paneling looks awesome I thought about using that for my mancave instead of sheetrock, I wish I did would have been less of a headache the sheetrock gave me. Would have save alot of $ and nit even have to paint
What are the vertical boards between the sheets of wall board? Same as the trims boards?
In my area I think to meet building codes you must use 5/8 sheet rock for fire reasons.
Looks great! I was planning to do my ceiling similar to your wood plank idea, and white wash it to help with the lighting.
That's a great idea!
What kind of mounts did you use to attach the panels to the wall?
Can you put this stuff straight on studs? Feels sturdy enough?
A worker at Home Depot told me these MDF panels aren't good for outdoor/garage use because they will absorb moisture in the summer humidity... what are your thoughts on that?
Great!!!!! Make Your Garage Great Again!!!!!
Gained a sub for sharing my hate of drywall work LOL
Great job. !! What did you use for the seams between each 4 ft board? I too am going to use your great ideas!!
Still today it’s cheaper than using wood flooring for the job. I am thinking about using this on a concrete basement wall do you think it will stick with a liquid nail style glue
How high are your ceilings looking to do my 10foot tall basement walls. Also did you purchase local or order, thanks
Looks awesome! Thanks for sharing!!!
How thick is the paneling? Did you have solid wood behind it or did you just nail it to the 2X4’s? Did you strip it?
You should be proud of your workspace!
Looks great!
How would I look that up particle board with print? do you know the best name to throw in a search that will allow for viewing of different prints ?
Looks great. Thanks for posting.
Just bought some of that paneling today, It's $40 @ sheet!!!
Will that paneling warp if in an unheated cabin over the winter?
Curious, what part of the country do you live in? Reason I ask is because the product specifications say that it is interior only. Has humidity been an issue and cause any degradation?
Looks great. No grinding and welding ? Man cave garage
Great Video, glad I found this. I will do this with a Mixture of Mocha Stain by Zar No.119 I will also add some Molding around the Garage Ceiling as well. It's More of a Man Cave then a Garage, I can do Occasional light work in it, but never any car repairs. So why not go for it :o)
I will have at least 3 different colors for a contrast. I have enough greys on my head LOL.
Nice job, looks really good! I might go with this for mine!
Go for it!
Looks great.
How did you attach it to the wall? I think a number of people are curious as I am. Thanks
Great finish- like the ceiling idea too!
Great ideas!! Looks awesome!
Its 34.98 now. This video is 5 years old. INFLATION
Thanks Joe Biden
It’s 94 cents a sq foot now lol
Nice I was looking at theses the other day how does it look up close where the seams meet hard to see in the video ? Is there something to help hide that ?
How does it fair to the weather sunch as moisture in the garage
Love this. It’s exactly what I want to do.
Very nice ! so it’s a form of MDF?
What is the motion sensor that turns the power off from? That is a great idea.
Can I glue this directly to the sealed concrete in my garage?
Do you have any more info or video on your sound system in the garage?
What is the motion sensing strip? Do you have link?
Just a quick question, what state do you live, I live in MN and winter is really cold so I was wondering if I should do sheet rock first
Yes, you need to rock it first and then glue this to the face of it. Otherwise the expansion/contraction will make it wavy.
Just wanted to check in, did you have warping or bowing
Can you share the product on the walls please. There is no link!
looks great
Where did you get this paneling for only 1.00 soft?
Does anybody know where to find this stuff? Doesn’t look like Home Depot has it anymore
Cool look! Awesome job!
Omg love it
And now, 5 years later the price is $40 per panel. I really like your 12 volt idea - going to copy it.
Awesome thanks 😊
How did the panels effect the lighting in your garage compared to just the open studs? Did it get any darker? I am considering using these exact panels and my only concern is lighting.
Trial n' Error That's great news. Also, it appears that there are some vertical strips used too. Did you use those to cover the seams of the panels? What are they?
Looks really good!!!
How are those panels holding up? I see you live in NH? Definitely some moisture up there. I'm in northern NY myself
@@Trialnerror Thank you ! I figured you'd say that
Would you mind telling us this size of your garage? It is just a standard two car garage? 20x20 or 22x22?
28x26 though I put on a huge 40 x 40 addition since then. Vids of that are on my channel!
Did you need to put anything on the seams ? Also did you use nails or screws ?
Nope, nothing on the seems and just used brad nails. I would recommend using glue as well if you already have some sort of wall to glue it to. Will help it to keep from stretching/shrinking with humidity
How tall is your garage? Is that an 8-ft ceiling or a 10-ft ceiling?
9ft if I remember correctly. I've since put a huge addition on it with 12' 6" ceilings (also on my channel).
@@Trialnerror thanks for the response! I'm in the middle of building a garage right now and I'm trying to figure out if I want to spend the extra money to go from 8 ft to 10 ft ceilings.
Great video. I have been looking at this product. Glad I found your video. This will be the way I go. Thanks.
You did a Awesome job
Awesome!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Do you have a link for the panels you used? I really want to do this just need to know what you used.
Have you had any warping on the paneling from humidity?
Yes unfortunately. If I had glued it to a backer board it would have been OK but on real humid days it does warp quite a bit. The good news is once the humidity comes down they return to normal but it's something to consider for sure.
Love it great idea
I went to Home Depot this past weekend to look at this material. IT seems very flexable. Even if the studs are at 16 on center, is it sturdy in between the studs? Like if i lean on the wall in between the studs is it gonna flex and cause any issues? Thanks. Love the look.
...hey Mac...I did this recently and layed down OSB first....which I highly suggest...if you don't...it might look ok at first but weather would likely cause it to flex etc..cheaper drywall may also be an option for underlay if OSB is through the roof in your area....( price doubled right after I bought it.as well as the 2x4x8's I used to frame the walls....)

how are you heating your garage???
You’ve had this paneling installed for some time now how is it holding up in the moisture from the garage?
Good point, Maybe it would be a good idea to clear seal "Satin Finish" the Paneling in the front and back before installing it?
Why are all of your replies private?
Lovely, thank you for share
I'm wanting to finish my garage out into a game room but the walls are 9'4". I like this idea but I have no idea how I could possibly make it work.
i have the same prob i was going 2 use something like this www.google.com/shopping/product/17699092255393688704?q=corrugated+metal+baseboard+home+depot&prds=epd:17605500209098506541,eto:17605500209098506541_0,local:1,prmr:2&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiAkaeRz43tAhUNUK0KHSlSB6YQ9pwGCAY
That Paneling is $56.00 - $80 a sheet in Canada.
Holy S%$# that's crazy. You guys should get a discount just for having to share a border with our crazy asses.
How does it stand up to humidity?
Not good but not terrible. If humidity is a issue you really need to glue it to a substrate
Cool story. Appreciate your video greatly but these things are up significantly at $33 now. Won’t be finishing squat 😂
scarlet fire
That is a great looking shop but could double as a man cave easily.
I didnt see of what it was and what is now. how about some of the piectures from the past.
I could spend hours every day in a shop like that.
If you like that, you'll love the massive addition I put on it. Please check out the videos of my garage build! Thanks for watching!
Does anyone have a link to the material he used?

@@Trialnerror Thank you! I searched their sight for a while & couldn't find it.
@@B-Redd Happy to help. Thank you so much for watching my shenanigans!
@@Trialnerror You're welcome! Your garage is inspiring. Mine has insulation up and I'm trying to decide what type of paneling to use. I like the idea of using these boards. Less work than drywall and lighter/ easier to work with than thick boards. Have you had any issues with humidity/moisture on these panels? Or dents/holes in them? I plan on going to HD to check them out in person to see how sturdy they feel. I'm wondering how much of the garage I can get away with doing in panels like this. It's a 30'x27'x9'2" garage.
Now that stuff is $35 BUCKS!!!!!!!!
Where's the bed?
That workbench is way to pretty to ruin. Cover with plexiglass or a lot of poly.
