This man is a beautiful man of God. It genuinely warmed my heart to see the council sitting on the stage where Ravi presented, show their extreme respect, and reverence to Ravi's entire speech. I can't take my eyes off Ravi either when he speaks, but to see Political personnel quietly and attentively listen to his every word, gives me some hope for our future. I pray that God raise up more men like Ravi. This world needs more Ravi, and if this world had more Ravi, it would be a much, much better place. Ravi claiming to be a "visiting scholar at Cambridge University" when he was on sabbatical for 3 months at Ridley Hall (a Church of England training center) in the city of Cambridge. Cambridge University has explicitly denied that they ever invited him as a visiting scholar. 2. Ravi saying that he is lecturer at Oxford University when the university has also denied in an official letter that he was never a lecturer or a professor there at any time. 3. Ravi claiming on his website that he has been conferred with "8 doctoral degrees" without disclosing that they were honorary. A number of his books (in the backcover) state that he was "educated at Cambridge University." As mentioned earlier, he never studied nor was he ever a visiting scholar at Cambridge University. 4. Ravi repeatedly saying (you can check various youtube videos) that he studied "quantum physics" under John Polkinghorne at Cambridge University in 1990 when Dr. Polkinghorne stopped teaching Physics in 1979. Additionally, Ravi was never a student or visiting scholar at Cambridge University to begin with. 5. Ravi declaring that he lectures at universities like Harvard and Yale when all these events were organized by Christian groups and local churches which would rent an auditorium on the university campus to hold the meetings. Ravi address to the audience was well put together and coincided with biblical principles. Anyone with a heart of peace and unity of mankind would receive the message and put aside discrepancies regarding R.Z. resume. The message you apparently failed to apprehend while listing your demand for R.Z. past directed you to repeat the decline of our history contrary to moving forward to a cohesive future.
What I find fascinating about these claims of his lying (whether he was or not I dont know but I will take you fo your word) is that it shows that although he preached a message of love and defended the Christian faith he was not perfect. Someone like yourself who struggles with these allegations I would pose the question back to you, "does this in any way discredit his intentions and illustrations of God and the message of Jesus Christ?" Can someone who professes to have been saved and takes the additional step of preaching the Gospel continue to intentionally lie for years/decades? There are consequences for our actions, there are things we need to be held accountable for. Isn't that Biblical to begin with? If he stayed humble I would imagine that this wouldnt be a distraction to the message that he provided to the millions of people who never really received the answers to the tough questions such as, "why does God allow evil" and "why would a loving God send us to hell." I think for me, ultimately, I was super disappointed that his ego and pride stained his reputation; however, the wisdom of this man was something that I will treasure and I'm grateful that God would use a man like Ravi. His answers seemed very strong and solid mainly to people who are not familiar with areas like philosophy and science. I'm not saying that what he offered was not compelling. I'm just stating that it was compelling because of the lack of background knowledge in the audience that he often addressed. He was never recognized in the academy or university for obvious reasons, he just was not intellectual on par with professors or leaders in the field. Ravi was a good speaker/communicator but not necessarily a leading intellectual as he made himself out to be.
