Other stereotypes
The Environmentalist - Only drives Teslas and if a car uses ANY gas/petrol they will hate it.
The Racer - Will not only drive around the track like a maniac and destroy other racers, but he'll get under the car and tune that thing specifically for the track and you won't see these guys casually driving down the street.
The Mechanic - No matter what happens to a car, he WILL fix it and their hobbys would include: getting under cars with a toolbox next to them and fixing said car. And going to a junkyard to find a car and fix it no matter its condition.
The Grocery Getter - Doesn't know a damn thing about cars and only sees them as a machine to get you from point A to point B.
The Historian - Doesn't know much about the engines or whats under the hood, but when hes got time and someone asks about the car they will tell you EVERYTHING about when the car was made, who made it, how it was marketed, how many sold, and if its a car like a Ford GT they'll tell you about its racing history and everything else.

One thing that seems to unite the car guys that I know is that none of them care about DRIVING, they're just infatuated with the machinery. Its like being in love with a stapler really. Why go to cars and coffee and hang out with a bunch of assholes when you can actually go for a drive in that thing.

This is so true. I went to a Cars and Coffee once and it was just a bunch of bros that drive across town from one car show or meetup to the next so they can jack off about parts and stats with other bros. Then I went to an Auto-X a few weeks later and it was amazing the camaraderie of everyone sharing the experience of driving the shit out of their cars whatever they had. Definitely a different vibe.
