Watch the hairstyle of Nagesh .I also used to keep like that .Known as Tony style. Earlier it was Shivaji hair style in Paalum Pazhamum film.IN the song Kelvi piranthathu anru... You can see the 3 towers of Power House.When we used to come from Bombay the mere sight of these towers used to make me jump with excitement and happiness that I have reached Madras and in 2 or 3 hours I will be in m home at Ponneri.

I have seen this movie in my childhood, happened to see it today. Excellent storyline and screenplay….. Throughout the movie, it will make anyone in my age group (mid 40’s) to find himself as Sarathy. If the Climax could’ve been a positive ending like Sarathy recovers from severe injury by his sister Sumathi’s efforts who is a doctor now, it would have give a positive message for the rest of his life who sees this movie. Though it is a story, I felt very sad looking at Sarathy’s wife character who sacrificed her happiness for her husband’s success and finally losing her life at the moment when everything settles down and she receives her son. But director Bimsingh’s movie is well known for this kind of ending like Pasamalar. Hats off to the entire team who have lived in this thirai kaaviyam.
Climax scene was shot in Ponneri Bridge near station.Shivaji coming to Bridge from the tree forest and the bomb fixing and explosion etc is the bridge on the Gummidipoondi Madras line.(UPLINE).In those days after GT Xpress and Circar Express there are no mail or express train in this route .Also a local train will stand in Ponneri at night to go to Madras next day morning at 5 am a first local. I have seen Savitri shooting for a film and Kantha Rao in 1965.My house is very near to station and at 10 pm all people gather to watch the shoot.In those days it was a great event which will be talked of for many days.In Iru Kodugal you can see the Ennore Bridge where Jayanthi goes to commit suicide and Sahasranamam jumps.Ponneri is Taluk Hqrs. in Chengelpet now Thiruvallor district.
