I didn't even realize I needed to do this fix! I knew my A/C was temperamental, but now that I saw this I knew why and fixed it in about 10 minutes! Thanks for your great instructions! Now the A/C works great!!!
+Clint M I'm glad you're staying cool now! When I was test driving this truck with the guy I bought it from, he was telling me that the max ac didn't work right. I got out and showed him how to fix it too. Vacuum leaks can cause a lot of different problems, depending on which hose is cracked. I just bought a '99 Ford Taurus for a good price because it had idling problems. They replaced the EGR valve and the IDC valve trying to fix it. I got it to my house and started looking at it when I could hear the leak on a vacuum hose under the throttle body. Replaced it with a piece of scrap hose I had laying around and it's running perfect.
You helped me fix my Max A/C in my 1995 F-150. When I'd change from regular to Max nothing changed so I knew something was wrong, so I started looking into it & then I found your Vid. I went to check the line, and sure enough it was trashed. So I put a new piece in, and now when I go to Max A/C I get Max A/C...Thanks..
I new it wasn’t connected and your video was so simple. Found the actuator plugged with a small vacuum line and found the plastic line, got the hose connected and bam, now have Mac a/c!
Just fixed this today on my 89 F150. It's the same. Funnily enough this must be super common because every single truck at the junkyard I looked at had the same burn in the same spot on that white plastic line.
Thanks for the video Mike it's very helpful. I recently purchased in 96 hadn't needed the AC until now I noticed yesterday my Max AC was doing the same thing you were talking about so once again thanks
Dude! THANK YOU!! We have a 95 that we bought new and this has been a fix I was dreading. I assumed that it would require pulling the vents apart behind the dash. NOPE! Ours had a slow leak because it would hold the door shut but then bleed down. We had to go to idle to build vacuum to get it open again. Here in Arizona with 115’ July temps it was annoying as hell!
Dude I got the same truck ! Everything! I have fluctuant pressure in my ac man it won't blow cold ...my clutch is working .and yes July sucks!!! ..I also love is AZ 🌵 much love brotha ❤️
Thanks! I was amazed to find my vacuum line so oxidized that,, though it was flexible, it had dried out and lost half its diameter to crumbly plastic. The split was about an inch long, but hidden under this outer "crust" of bad plastic. I removed back to good hose in the harness and trimmed a couple inches off to replace the old line in the boot. Now off to NAPA.
Great video, what if mine works on both normal and max, but if you accelerate hard it turns off then it comes back on after you are driving normal again?
1992 must be different, because the actuator your showing is working fine on my 1992, when i get under the dash, just to the right of the ashtray, there is an actuator with a blue vacuum hose going to it, ibpush on that actuator and the a/c starts blowing through the vents, i checked the hose and there is no vacuum on that blue hose, but when i pull a vacuum on the actuator, it works, so i have to find out why im not getting vacuum to the blue hose, thank you for the video, i wish it was that simple
There is a black and a white vacuum hose in the loom you showed, which hose did you attach the new vacuum hose, the black or the white? Thank you for the video!
I was wondering if you know of any solutions to replacing the climate control temperature adjustment cable on the back side of the unit. I am not sure how to get the old cable off the back side with out potentially breaking the plastic mount. It looks to pop off and I can destroy the old one without getting too upset but obviously do want to break the new replacement plastic mount putting the temperature adjustment cable back onto it. I have been looking online but haven't found a video on how to get the cable off and back on without losing my cool and just snapping the brittle plastic. The plastic vacuum connectors are broken so I am planning on replacing the entire unit with a newer one and that includes popping on and off that temperature adjustment cable. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...thank you. 1994 Ford Bronco
Unfortunately fooling with brittle plastic is about the only way to repair anything in the dash. Just take your time. Sometimes I have to just walk away for a minute and take a breather
i tried that but no vaccum from the line, i als have a problem with no voltage at compressor, i jumped the pressure switch and checked all fuses, some times the compressor cuts on and works for several days and then it stops again, proper charge. cant figure it out
So I'm having a problem where I can get air to come in the cabin. The blower works through all speeds and the blend door functions properly, but I am getting no air out of the vents. Any idea? Could it be a similar fix?
does anyone have any idea where I can get that blend door? Everything else is fine, but the lever on the door is broken and I can't find those parts anywhere
Vacuum leaks don’t make a screeching sound, they make a hissing sound. Usually you can’t hear them unless you’re under the hood. If it’s screeching when you accelerate, it could be the serpentine belt or the belt tensioner.
Check the vacuum line. Follow it all the way back. You can also unbolt the vacuum actuator off the top of that blend door, then move it manually and see if it’s moving smoothly from each position

Your voice is so beautiful and relaxing. I could listen to you for hours bro. 💙
Thank you! My AC went out just as we returned from a camping trip. Thought I was in for big $$$$ at a service shop. Fixed it for $12. Thank you!

Thank you for the video. I am on my third F-150. Two 96's and now I have a 94. After watching your video a very quickly found my own vacuum leak. 👍
Oh my god that’s exactly the hose that’s broken on mine . You are a bad ass. My ac and heater are all jacked up.

This is what mine does. Hopefully it’s obvious
Just pulled the hose had a small hole where it touches the inner fender
@@jacobchandler2083 it’s a cheap fix too!
@@chrislewis5150 yea gotta find a peice of line but no big deal

I was wondering what that broken line was in my truck and I just came across your video thank you for the info
Appreciate the help, mine was completely disentigrated.

+Mark Mellblom yea it's a common problem on these trucks. I've fixed several of them this way
Add a little heat sink around the connection and it seals nicely
Great video, what if mine works on both normal and max, but if you accelerate hard it turns off then it comes back on after you are driving normal again?
My Bronco is having the exact same problem

Did you ever fix it? I am having the exact same issue with my truck
thanks. helpful. my hose was ripped. now I have the part number. thank you sir.
Thanks Mike, I will be trying to fix my 1994 Ford XLT with similar problems.
Thinks man mines been doing those for a while now it’s good mine always switched from max to defrost when I give it gad
Just checked my vac line. Exact same problem in the exact spot. Thanks
I move the acutrator manually but no difference my vacuum line is broken but i feel no vacuum coming from the hoose can it be there ac module switch
There is a black and a white vacuum hose in the loom you showed, which hose did you attach the new vacuum hose, the black or the white? Thank you for the video!
White line goes to the actuator
Thanks for a very helpful video. I have the same issue, got the part today to fix it. Thanks!
Thanks for the info! Saved a lot of $$$ and time!
Hello from Arizona my friend I have to my name a F series F250 5.8. I'm having a/c issues unfortunately I'll try this one for sure !!
great video brother. I'm having a problems with my 95 f150. when my ac is on max or regular then it goes to defrost when driving... can u help
Have a 92 that's doing the same thing.
Well done sir. Thank you and please make more videos.
How do you replace the mode actuator?
You have a nice looking truck
Thanks

Thomas Ingram I’m having the exact same issue. Will come in from the floor or the defrost but not the air vents
Actuator for that is under the dash
@@MrKinkysloth Did you ever find a fix?
I have this same problem right now with my 95 f150
does anyone have any idea where I can get that blend door? Everything else is fine, but the lever on the door is broken and I can't find those parts anywhere
Salvage yard or eBay is probably the best bet
Could this be a cause of a vacuum leak, cause I have a loud screeching noise when I accelerate?

So where did you get that 90 that comes out the actuator?
Mine is made onto the actuator
my ac it heat doesn’t work.. could it be ac blend door ??
Neither the heat or ac works? Blend door could be stuck in the middle
I'm having trouble with my blend door opening and closing somehow none or seems like it's not getting vacuum
Check the vacuum line. Follow it all the way back. You can also unbolt the vacuum actuator off the top of that blend door, then move it manually and see if it’s moving smoothly from each position
Where can I get the knobs for the ac
eBay will probably be the cheapest. Also I think you can still get them from the dealer.
Mike’s Garage how to I remove the whole ac unit for inside the cab with a flat head?
You can buy the knobs at amazon or ebay
Awesome!!!
Thanks
Thanks brother max ac is freezing me out again only had normal for a while still froze me out too
Thank you🎉
I have the 1996 Bronco that matches your truck paint scheme.
Low amp alternator does engine work harder
Thanks just fixed mine
Nice mine doesn't have the vacuum line
I can't even find where it's broke off it's like someone completely removed mine
THANK YOU
That plunger module cost $105
Lol i got the same stereo on my 96
Can't barely hear u
