As a former Marine mechanic back in the late nineties I works on everything from a 2 hp two stroke to a 454 in board motor and used a rechargeable rotary tool often cleaning water jackets on cylinder heads to polishing up rusted and corroded fuel bowls on our boards where they sat for months when owners didn't run the fuel out of the bowls before the put the boat/ motor up for the winter. This would be a great tool for someone in that field. Also for cleaning up gasket debris on cylinder heads and any part that used gaskets or sealent.
Me again I have some kitchen drawer Hanger's that broke after 20 years of wear, hard plastic, they were originally stapled in place. But my replacement guides came with screw's so trying to drill pilet holes for the screws with a standard drill ain't happening because of the confined space against the far wall I have to drill into so this would be a perfect set up for that to be done. That's again for a timely DIY review. Keep up the good work.
I like the ApexForge M8 Cordless 8V over the M12 12V. In fact on Amazon there are a few negative reviews on the M12 but might be related to the price point. The M8 Cordless is pretty much the Dremel with an 8V 2.0Ah battery
Really cool but I have 3 rotary tools one is a mini cordless hardell and my other 2 are dremel brand and I realized that dremel is slightly better but good video 📹
I like to see the WorkPro 12v. I'm leaning that way because we can replace the battery, where the Forge we can't and why I think the WP may be the better option than the AF.
I understand the liking for cordless tools, but I went with the M6 pro (200 watt 1.8 amp) because I felt it would likely have more power than a 12 volt cordless. The M6 pro will arrive tomorrow, but I wanted to ask (if you don't mind) if you have any experience with Apex's corded rotary tools? I'm just tired of my current ($20 PoS) rotary tool bogging down every time the attached tip encounters resistance. I can barely cut thick cardboard with the metal saw tip. Would you agree that the corded tools (at this price point at least) have less torque? Yes, you could do that, but I think this tool is too slow for that kind of work. If you are only cutting one piece, then it's OK. But if you want to cut many pieces, I would suggest a faster cutting tool.
Yes, in the accessories there are several diamond tipped bits that you can use for cutting glass. They have different shapes depending on your needs. They can also be used for glass etching and engraving. The Bigger kit has more bits also.
The 8220 Dremel has a changeable battery and the Forge doesn't. That makes the Dremel more appealing to me. Of course you can almost buy 2 of these for the price of the 8220 so.....
I haven't run it till it stops, but I would say at least 1 hour depending on the speed that you are using. On Max speed I would say 1 hour of constant use. Slower speeds will last longer obviously.
