Also Lusamine... you used to dance with your daughter and now you starve her... Another reason I don't like Ultra Beasts. They drived a loving mother to madness.

I'm just trying to let you see that it wasn't their fault Lusamine went crazy.

Clearly she was already crazy for quite a while. I can't really sympathise with her, because we didn't get to see much of her actual suffering and I only read about the cause of her insanity on the Internet. Really don't remember getting the information during the main plot (when it was most important). I might have glanced over it during Gladion's weak attempt to explain her motives to us, when we met him at the Aether Fondation.
It was said that Gladion and Lillie's father was researching Ultra Beasts and during his research he disappeared, only leaving files of Nihilego. The reason Lusamine is so obsessed with the Ultra Beasts is because she believes they are to key to finding her husband.
What makes this extra sad and scary is that there ARE parents out there that do this kind of crap with their children. Remove the Ultra Beasts, remove even all the Pokémon, and you have the true monsters of this world: child abusers. I want to hug Lillie and Gladion so badly. I want to hug Guzma too since his father abused him as well, and Hau since his daddy outright abandoned him pretty much...;_;
I think Pokémon does this to show young kids that they don't have to depend on their parents for strength. look at Lillie and gladion, they ran away from home with nothing but clothes and valuable Pokémon, and with the help of their freinds ( or the "evil'' organization of the game) they were able to grow as people and even forgive their mother to some exstent, also look at other protagonist and tell me I'm wrong.
It's also insanely creepy when you realize that Lilie was dressed to look like Nilhiego, and Gladion kinda looks like the Electric UB (forgot the name). Plus, Lusamine looks like UB2 Beauty.... creepy.
I do believe it's a common theory that Lusamine got so obsessed over UB-01 Nihilego that she dressed Lillie like that UB because otherwise she wouldn't deem her daughter as 'pretty' and thus wouldn't want her in her existence. One of THE WORST things you can do is force a child to eat too much, or to force them to starve... This comic makes me so mad at Lusamine that I hate her even more.... She starves Lillie so she can keep her figure, which is dumb, because if they were being happy, healthy children, then a normal amount of food is okay, and if her son eats more than she wants him to, she forces him to vomit up all his food, which is fucking sick....
