Surprised nobody commented on you singing along, obviously knowing most if not all of the words. Respect. True fan right there.

The original singer called Ofra Haza (rip) she was a Jewish Yemen. This vibrato calld 'Silsul' in israel, it very familiar with yemen singers...Ofra Haza sang this line in all the version of this movie, if you want to hear more of her you will enjoy, she was amazing singer, one of a kind voice

Song literally so hard it makes you sweat! The plagues is really epic too, but this is definitely an overlooked piece outside of their direct subscribers and it's the best damn cover of this song I've ever heard outside of the original.
Thanks for bringing us this one Dave!

If I am not mistaken, around the time of this video Jonathan and Caleb started working together. As someone who was a fan of both separately seeing them release covers like this one blew my mind. Still remember the chills of hearing this cover for the first time.
(I know you don't really take recommendations from youtube comments, I'm aiming in the dark here tbh, but there are two songs I want to recommend: I Wanna Be like You from the Jungle Book (early jazz cover that deserves more love) and Breaking the Habit Acoustic cover (in honor of Chester right when he died). Both are older videos so the content possibilities from them are low, but they show a lot of Jonathan's origins and wide genre range. Could be fun to just watch in your spare time.)

This is indeed a POWERFUL song as a kid I didn't fully understand of how hard it is and to what it had really ment till I was a teenager and then it had hit hard in the feels and even now this song hits differently to me now than it did when I was a teenager cause im now a mother and I just feel the mother's pain & love she has for Moses I cry everytime I hear this song as well as watch this movie and its 1 of my top 5 favorite childhood movies I grew up watching

You know it's solid when the first horn gives you immediate stankface. Rock on.

Those double kicks as a drummer are fire from god I know they were programmed. But someone had to put them together. Christ is king

I think the song you were thinking of with parts for Moses and Ramses is The Plagues, which Caleb and Jonathan did do a cover of together

They go from the strong claim for the promise to tenderly sing about the accomplished promise of the baby shepherd Moses.

Honestly I see this cover frequently because they are shouting God in despair as many of us sometimes in life.

I think that vocal technique is part of carnatic singing? Don't quote me on that, lol. Also, goosebumps EVERYWHERE from the lullaby! Amazing

The vibrato in the voice is very similar in my opinion to Tibetan throat especially with the change in tonality or the singing of Hindu mantras
