@@karas3248 they're surprisingly forgiving. I'm not saying that someone ISN'T going to fuck it up (every machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough and all that), but they yield pretty gently and are very easy to make little adjustments to.
Gotta love that classic plum polyamide furniture. Combine that with bakelite mags and you've got a piece that looks straight outta the late '70s or early '80s. Keep it cheeki breeki! 13:23 Almost paraphrasing Ferris Bueller. 14:29 I remember when that was still true. A lot's changed over the past 20 years, and not for the better (in this case). Back in the '90s, the idea of an AR being cheaper than an AK would have sounded like a tall tale. 14:37 I remember when you could get 20-round G3 mags, steel or aluminum, for $3 or $5 each.
Bakelite is art. Chemically it's easy to make, but getting it to be strong, bubble free, and aesthetically pleasing is really difficult. Wish it was still used more.
7.62x39 has officially passed 5.56 in price now. Cheapest I could find steel case 762 on ammoseek was 34cpr. Brass case ss109 5.56 is down to 31-32cpr. They're becoming more collector items than a shooters rifle. I remember buying 762 for 18cpr within the last 4 or 5 years.
About the safety, quick tip I picked up from ak Jesus was to just bend the selector inwards a bit to make it stiffer, like phisically bend it, it's an ak, it'll be fine, cheers!
I recently got their lower end GF3 "Blem" AK-47 and was blown away at how well made and accurate it was. The first day zeroing it I got a consistent 2.5 MOA 5-shot group using cheap Tula 7.62x39mm FMJ ammo. That blew me away as that's about the same group sizes I get with cheap 5.56mm ammo through my AR-15's. I feel quite certain that using an optic and some higher-end ammo, that I can get at least 1.5MOA accuracy. Also what surprised me is that even though I'm ex-U.S. Army and know AR-15's like the back of my hand, I find that I run the AK47 faster as it feels a bit more natural for me ergonomically. Unfortunately 7.62x39mm is NOT ideal for home defense due to the massive over-penetration of the rounds even using soft-point rounds. As such I'm seriously considering getting a PSA AK in 5.56mm. That with just a flashlight on it would be all I needed for home defense. Contrary to popular belief, you don't need a red dot on an AK. If you ONLY put the front sight on your target (almost like it was a red dot) and pull the trigger, you will get rounds on target at close range every time. I find that method faster than using a red dot. But on mine I did get a side-rail scope mount and I'm currently experimenting with different optics. The downside is that it adds a lot of weight to the rifle when you add the scope mount and an optic to the rifle. That's one reason why I prefer using iron sights.
The 104/105 are more or less the "ideal" AK pattern rifles. Both rounds do exceptionally well with the 12.5" barrel (losing less velocity than most other calibers). You have all the reliability, no appreciable loss in performance, and the folding stock makes them shockingly small and easy to transport. In a non-AFT world, there would be little point in owning any other type of AK. Small enough for CQB while plenty useful at normal 300-400 yard engagement ranges, etc. Very much the M4 of the AK world.
Honestly mad respect to psa. With AK prices getting out of control and our current administration trying to make them harder and harder to get its nice to see a US made option that is somewhat affordable with a good warranty and continually rising quality

I thought I was gonna be a one and done gun purchase guy. Here I am, less than a year and a half later, looking at PSA AKs as my third gun lol. When they warn you that this is addictive ... believe them.
Funny thing about 74 mags is the name is usually what makes it more expensive. There are a ton of Bulgarian black polymer 74 mags with steel reinforced internals on the market between 10-$20
I've got one of these full zenitco'd out with a strela extended 4 piece flash hider pinned+welded and its been genuinely my most reliable rifle that is also incredibly quiet, enough to not need hear pro. PSA does undergas them but if you're using an appropriate muzzle device, its never going to have cycling issues even in the cold. The AK104 I have from them needs a booster to cycle, but with one, is perfectly gassed.
Strange they are under gassed. Cuz everyone knows their ar's are over gassed. I have a 16" middy that's got an H2 buffer due to the heavy gas. I suppose and H1 would lend to better reliability in the cold though I haven't had issues with the H2, to this point. Even with underpowered tula
I got my russian build Izhmash Saiga MKK-105 (basically an completely original AK-105 crippled to semi-auto only) for 450€ here in Italy😁🇮🇹 the quality is just superb👌🏻
I ended up picking up a standard, fixed stock, PSA AK-74 s little earlier this year and I've honestly been extremely happy with it. The trigger, while being stock, is honestly the best trigger I've EVER seen on an AK. Match grade quality 👌 and it was zeroed out of the box. I've found myself, honestly, looking for any reason whatsoever to take it out shooting. It has, very quickly, climbed the ladder of favorite rifles. Even beating my many HK rifles. I've honestly found myself looking towards my 74 more than my AR's or HK's. I absolutely love this thing.
I wish psa would get their qc in order. I have several of their ak's almost every one of them needed to get work done on them initially. Once they got fixed, they've all ran great. The only ones i had major issues with were their initial release 74's. And if anyone is wondering, I'm not dogging PSA, I just ordered one of their 102's. Like I said I want them to succeed
Got a GF5 103 in on Saturday that’s got serious assembly issues… it functions, but it’s not useable. When they get back from vacation I’ll get it back to them. Last time I had an AK issue with them it was handled very well. I’m sure they’ll make it right. Next one I get I from them I wanna see it first! I just looked at a couple of Zastava’s that the front sights were way off, and one of them the mag well wasn’t opened big enough. AK seems more of a hobby than a tool sometimes.
@@inahurrytooften3121 yeah man my m85 zastava fucked up the mag well. The mags set in at a slight angle. While it didn't affect feeding it did affect how the mag came out. And my m70 or m90(don't remember which one) had issues with the take down button for the dust cover. Oh and the metal mag that came with my m85 was fucked up and smashed from factory, so it was completely unusable. As for psa they were good to me about getting things fixed until the 74's. It was a battle initially for them to admit they cut the barrels wrong so my extractor was hitting the barrel. Those things went back several times. In fact one of them is featured in the initial psa 74 garand thumb video(where he brings up a picture sent in from a viewer, that's mine) unfortunately I'm not as influential as he is cause when I went to send it back they told me it's fine and that's it

Not a terrible idea. I'd love to 100% trust PSA (only own one firearm from them so far) but living near the physical PSA stores I've seen a handful of PSA AK's go down hard at the local range. Not terribly confidence inspiring. I do hope they're learning lessons and advancing their products. I'd have preferred PSA make about 5% of the "variety" they make and simply take the time to make them bomb proof.
If ya listen to the internet or r/ak47 they will never “iron” out the issues. Just get one and 80-90 percent chance you’ll be happy. I have all price ranges of Aks and the PSAs have been fine. 104/105/74/101/102. The 105/74 are gassed super soft. Had a stove pipe or two up until 100-200 rounds but 0 issues since at 3&5k. The 101 is the softest gun I have. Softer than my m90/sam5 with kns/ Galils etc. they don’t have the soul the imports have but I’m able to shoot cases an cases without feeling guilty and 0 issues.
I hear you with the loose gas tube lever. I just bent it some and isn't as loose now. Really wish PSA would tighten those up. Have their 74 and now AK104. Both with loose gas tube levers, and safeties. Both have been running good, though.
People say PSA aren't duty guns, but AKOU would wildly disagree. The AKOU's hold up just as well as a lot of the older legendary AKs like Arsenal. From what I've seen from RUclips and in person with my PSA AKs they're honestly the best AK Option in the US right now short of a Herrera or other super high end Gucci parts kit that costs 4x as much for a 10% quality gain.
Great content Great review: I love the fact that I can buy a good reliable 100% "American Made" AK especially form PSA. they will just get better over time. even though it is not an original Russian, Polish, Bulgarian, or Chinese AK's etc. I honestly would rather have an "American made version" but to me it doesn't matter anymore everything is a Knockoff anymore from somewhere. if it is made I promise there is a knockoff of it somewhere..
We all know about his awesome personality, meme expertise and great videos but can we take a moment to appreciate the D R I P this man has in every single video? Sheesh
Cool video it's indeed sad that the ak105 and 74's are so expensive. @@karas3248 they're surprisingly forgiving. I'm not saying that someone ISN'T going to fuck it up (every machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough and all that), but they yield pretty gently and are very easy to make little adjustments to.

PSA + Admin Results= never ending fun. Love the content as always.
@@chemistryofquestionablequa6252 Gun Jesus says bakelite mags are the best. Is it a polymer or a fiberglass?
@@judsongaiden9878 it's one of the first industrial polymers, but can be reinforced with glass fiber.

The Russian kit with the tourniquet zip-tied on is killing it 🤣
Funny visual reference for KIA Russian soldier discovered with zip-tied tourniquet. 😂
The zip tied tourniquet is a nice touch
A shotgun is better than a rifle for home defense

Something about the proportions of the 105 is just right. Nice.
Very much the M4 of the AK world.
the tasteful thickness of it
Nice.

Honestly mad respect to psa. With AK prices getting out of control and our current administration trying to make them harder and harder to get its nice to see a US made option that is somewhat affordable with a good warranty and continually rising quality

PSA isn’t the company we asked for, they’re the one we needed.
Shoutout to them for making decent firearms for real decent prices.
Cool to see that yours actually worked when you got it
I’ve been pleasantly surprised with my PSA rifles. My PSA AR has a ridiculously consistent ejection pattern
PSA has been killing it in the AK market! I have been loving my gf5.
I love the way the CZ P-01 looks. I bought one just because I thought it was cool. It just so happens to be an excellent pistol.
Glad to see arms list being a sponsor! Great team running the last post of freedom imo

Loose on all the PSA AK's I've seen, weirdly. Just a thing they haven't figured out I guess.

While PSA isn't on the same level as Fuller or Rifle Dynamics, they make a decent AK. As time goes on I'm sure their AKs will continue to improve.
