CONGRATULATIONS! thank you so much for entering, if you are on IG, please contact me there and also, please email me at soilandmargaritas@gmail.com so I can send you your goodies! Christmas came early for you girl! CONGRATAULATIONS again!
I have some rainbow coleus growing from seed I planted this year!! I started them a little late so I was planning on bringing the whole planter inside when it gets cold 🥶! I’m in Texas, zone 8b so I’ll probably bring them in and put them out several times over the winter! I just hope we don’t get another snowpocalypse like this past winter! Even my indoor plants died then!! Congratulations on the 10k!!! 🎉 WooHoo!
Thank you for all your hard work showing us your garden and filming. I love what you're doing! I've found a new hobby because of you! As for coleus, I like them all!
This year I tried coleus, fiber optics grass, and black mamba petunia in a pot. It was so beautiful. Definitely going to try cuttings this year too! I like the dark colors contrasting with my white garden so Kong Scarlet Coleus is lovely.
My mom told me about your channel and I have been watching you ever since. I love how natural and honest you are with your gardening. I have lots of coleus in my garden (zone 9a) but the purple sweet potato vine is new in my garden so I appreciate you showing how to propagate it. I would love to win the prize which I will definitely share with my mom! Keep doing what you’re doing and I’ll keep watching 👀
I added 2 burgundy coleus to my front garden in the spring, which contrasted well with the greenery around it. Now they are blending in well with the fall color of my autumn joy sedum, and the autumn leaves! Love that i started using coleus, they are so easy to care for. 😊
What a wonderful idea! I am going out today and take cuttings from my sweet potato vine and from several varieties of coleus that I enjoyed this year. I especially loved my Wicked Witch variety. Thank you for sharing - I have gotten so many good ideas from you. ❤️
I love adding bright pink coleus (I wish I knew the variety!) and pink impatiens in my shade garden. I buy new every year and I choose coleus based on the leaf colors. This information is SO exciting to have. Brilliant! "Why hadn't I thought of that?!" thanks for sharing!
Right!?! I found someone who thought coleus were houseplants only, who knew!?! Imagine having your lovely variety indoors.. I hope mine work the way I want them!
@@SoilandMargaritas I'm off to the dollar store to see if there's any cute jars in stock! :) Sunny and beautiful In MA today! A great day to be out in the garden taking clippings. Thanks again!
@@ednawarren1421 I'm just seeing your comment - I just did a google search and the watermelon is the one I'm growing! I'm in MA and have luck finding it at my local Walmart garden center (who inew?!) and also Home Depot in the spring (prob right before Memorial Day). I have seen seeds on etsy, but have never propagated coleus seeds.... not sure if it's fussy or not. Good luck to you in your search!
First time this summer using coleus in the garden. I found a few different colors on clearance. Now after watching you take cuttings I’m going to give that a try. My favorite is the dark purples and bright greens.
I grew Wasabi coleus this year and loved it. Nice bright chartreuse color and handled lots of heat and sun up against my barn. Super easy to propagate too, I just took cuttings, stuck them in the ground and kept the soil moist. I have more in a jar now rooting them out to try as house plants to overwinter for next year. Love your videos!
CONGRATULATIONS!! I am enjoying Soil & Margaritas SO much. You do an amazing job with it all. I love the first Coleus that you clipped to saved. All speckled and beautiful. One of my favorite plants is vinca vine, it grows like crazy for me and adds so much to my planters. But I L❤VE that dark sweet potato vine you cut, gorgeous!! Thank you Roxana 😊❤🪴
I have yet to plant a coleus, but the wicked witch variety has been catching my eye. Love the combination of burgundy and the bright green. Thank you for sharing your garden and tips. It’s been super helpful. Especially the starting seed process. Can’t wait for next spring 🌸🙌🏻
Coleus is one of my favorite plants! I will be trying to propagate some indoors as well. Sedona Sunset, Limetime and pink varieties are some of my faves!
I've really enjoyed your channel and watching your garden come to life. Golden dreams coleus is one of my favs. Adds such a bright pop of color to the garden.
I love coleus as well and of all years don't want to see them go. Thank you for sharing and inspiring me to take cuttings. I have some fun varieties but my favorite has to be the Wicked Hot coleus. Not only did it grow to be enormous it also is the most vibrant orange I have ever had.
I have never planted coleus, but am going to be asking a neighbor for some cuttings so I can try this! I love your channel. I am also in central Indiana and have really enjoyed seeing all the possibilities for a garden through your channel. I have learned a lot and am inspired to work in my garden most evenings.
I tried to propagate coleus one year and I was unsuccessful. They were in a place out of eye site, grew roots but I didn't keep up with watering them. I planned on trying again this year. I want my small garden to have one nice focal point and if I can save money in the meantime why not! My favorite coleus are any that are bright yellow/green. They pop very well and can be seen easily from the street. Congratulations on your channel growth!
Thats awesome for you. Congratulations. I love your garden space, its beautiful. I"m going to try propagating both my coleus and SPV. This year I loved the "Rediculus" coleus and the "Sweet Caroline Sweetheart Red" SPV.
I love adding coleus that has any shade of pink to my garden... this summer I had a dark pink variety that was beautiful, I matched it with bubblegum supertunia in a planter and it was a pretty contrast!
Love seeing all the insects fleeing when you took out those older plants. They were busy making healthy soil chemistry for you! That's why I don't find it necessary to replace potting soil every year. I always find worms and other critters in my containers that are replenishing nutrients for me 😊
Your garden is so beautiful, i think your choices of plants and where you plant them is spot on. I will continue to enjoy every video that you have time to create. My favorite coleous this year is a limegreen giant leaved variety witha maroon center.🌿
I have planted all colors of Coleus in my garden. I have one that I purchased from Home Depot that didn’t have a name but it’s beautiful. I will be over wintering it inside. They are very easy to propagate and root within days. I had some that broke during a storm which I just stuck in the ground without roots and they grew and rooted within weeks. Congrats on your 10k subscribers. I really love each and every video you make.
I have done a lot of coleus in my planters these summer, they have grown on me. May have to try in ground next year. Thanks for showing us how to take cutting, started one tonight. Love your channel 👍🏼💕
I love your channel. Thank you for all the informative videos. I love Coleus. My grandmother always had them. One of my favorites is called Rainbow. I take cuttings of flowers and plants alot. I have had success with Coleus cuttings in potting soil.
I take cuttings as well. I love sharing plants with my family. One of my favorite coleus is from the Color Blaze series. It’s called Wicked Witch. There are so many amazing coleus varieties out there but I love the ones that tolerate sun as well. I’m really enjoying your videos on propagation. Congrats on reaching another milestone with your channel. Thanks
Yaayy🎉🎉🎉 Congratulations on 10k, so well deserved🍾🥂💕 Didn't know about propagating sweet potatoe vine, I got my hands on a beautiful one this spring that I would love to propagate🤩🤩🤩 thank you for always sharing knowledge with us!🥰
Hi Roxana. I can’t enter your contest because I’m a Canadian but I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your channel. I just did the same thing with my coleus..now I’m going to try the potato vine too. TFS🇨🇦🌸👩🌾
I love taking cuttings from coleus. I use them in flower arrangements, too, and then plant them afterwards. This year, I'm loving Big Red Judy coleus. 🧡 your work!!
I enjoy watching your channel. I learn something new every time. I remember when I was a child my grandparents would plant Coleus in their yard. I’ve never planted any. I seem to focus more on flowers. Next year, I will be planting some Coleus. Thank you for inspiring me!
I grew chocolate covered cherry coleus this spring. Two survived my seed starting debacle and I'm so thankful they did. My new favorite coleus of all time!
Lucky you, I tried that variety from seed.. they grew so gorgeous and full, but then somehow I killed every single one of them when taking them outside... and I took my sweet time too... 5 mins here and 5 mins there for the first few days, still, they all died.
Congrats on the 10K. I found you about a year ago and continue to enjoy everything you do. Youre so sweet and your videos are relaxing and informative. I havent had a bunch of experience with all the varieties of coleus but I throughly enjoyed the golden dreams or the wicked hot color blaze from proven winners.
Hello, I planted rustic orange coleus and did some cuttings , put in potting soil and they are doing great, I love all the colors of coleus, they are so neat looking, and great to plant with or even by themselves, happy gardening, love your videos.
This video was timed perfectly! Thank you so much for sharing. It’s likely to frost soon in my zone 7a garden and I have a group of coleus plants in my front yard that have been so beautiful this year. I was really regretting that I don’t have room inside to dig them all up. This way I can keep smaller versions inside until next spring! Also, I won’t have to disturb the soil, so the roots of this year’s plants can compost naturally, improving the soil for next year. Thank you!!!
I love the chocolate drop coleus, altho there are many I like. I rooted several kind this past summer for myself, neighbors, and friends. It's easy! Congrats on 10K - I enjoy your channel and so glad I found you. Good luck everyone!
Congratulations! I enjoy watching your videos. I have several varieties/colors of coleus. My favorite is a solid lime green. I love propagating them in water. It doesn’t take very long to get roots.
I’ve just tried growing the older variety of coleus here in zone 10b (and now want to try to grow the newer varieties from PW) since the older ones prefer some shade here. Only now after 4yrs of tree growth I have enough shade for them to survive. As for the sweet potato they act as a herbaceous perennials and I even found a sport, a heart shape leaf from the regular 5 point leaf that I take cuttings regularly.
Congratulations!! That is a great idea to start next year planting from this year cutting, I think I will do the same 😊🪴I like the burgundy coleus with the lime green border., those colors work so great together. Happy planting 🌿
Absolutely LOVE this! Will definitely try it out - great way to winter over coleus so that next year we can try different ones! Rediculous coleus has been my favorite this year 😍
I love starting coleus--I just break it off and stick it in soil to make my pot look fuller! I love the darker ones-particularly the dark purple ones with green edges. I got my hands on some of the new "Medusa" sweet potato vine that proven winners had this year and was able to root it, too!
The Rediculous Coleus in the Color Blaze series is my absolute favorite !!! When the sun hits it , it appears to be glowing and it grows enormous ! It has never disappointed and adds a nice soft red texture and color to the garden. Congratulations on your 10,000 subscribers ! I subscribed the first time I saw your channel and have enjoyed it ever since !🌿 😊
I am definitely trying this. I planted one this year, (don’t know the variety) that I got from Walmart and it got so big and beautiful. I would definitely like to have it in my garden again next year. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Hi! I planted a Broad Street Broadway coleus this summer in a container and the burgundy and green leaves are still great colors as the season moves into the fall. I enjoy your channel. I'm also in Indiana in zone 5b!
Thank you for your informative and relaxing content. I've found that I can actually do some of the things you've done in your garden, which is encouraging as i haven't been doing it that long. My favorite choleus is Wicked Witch by proven winners. I will be trying to keep cuttings from mine this year.
I have also saved coleus from year to year from cuttings in fall. Zone 5 in northern Illinois. Will try to root some ornamental sweet potatoes this year. Love the dipped in wine coleus. I Enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Hello, I recently found your Channel as I love gardening and growing flowers and vegetables from seeds and cuttings as well. Actually I love all varieties of Coleus and colors. We recently moved back to Illinois after living overseas (2015-2021) in a tropical climate weather, and recently we closed on our home . I am so excited to start gardening again next year.
Felicidades! I am learning so much about different plants from your videos and how to embrace planting things in the fall versus just buying mums lol. the coleus looks like velvet. so pretty.
I’ve been enjoying watching your videos. Especially bulb planting as I’m finishing up my tulip planting for fall. Wish coleus was hardy in my area, zone 5. Wicked witch coleus is my fav!
Love watching your channel, I’m a big fan of coleus cuttings too! My favorite is Rediculous but my husband always makes me grow Flame Thrower, it has a unique leaf shape and color.
This is a good idea, I’m going to try taking cuttings from both types of plants! I enjoy all the coleus! Especially because they add color to a shady area! You are a great inspiration! Thank you!❤️
My favorite coleus are the fishnet coleus and the chocolate drop!!! This will also be the first year I try to propagate mine in water so your video had perfect timing. Thanks.
I’m going to try and overwinter with new cuttings from my coleus as well! My favorite is the colder dreams colorblaze!!! I’m addicted to having a ton in my garden!!!
I am enjoying my regular sweet potatoe cuttings. I planted all but 2 late in the summer and have those 2 in the house in water to see if I can keep their pretty green all thru the winter. Maybe I should put them in a planter for better success. I have learned that if I put cuttings of my outside begonias into moist dirt, that some of them take root and last thru the winter inside. Thanks for the relaxing music and subject matter on your videos.
@@SoilandMargaritas I didnt know a single thing about Coleus until your video. Today I noticed some in a plantar that I have passed by every week for months. Thanks for teaching me.

I really want to get my hands on the wicked witch coleus. I haven't seen it this year in garden centers but maybe I can find a plant to overwinter this year. Love love love all your coleus! The hot pink colored ones are so fun!
Well deserved! Truly love your channel! Great info, ideas, Music, photography, birds crickets & all 👍🏻😊❤️🪴 I’ve had success with coleus cutting in the past..but haven’t tried potato vine yet. Chocolate drops is my fav 😉
I love your videos & look forward to seeing your beautiful flower gardens! My favorite coleus are the pink & red mix! But all are wonderful!! Keep up the good work!! 10K 🌻🌺🌼
I love, love coleus! So many colors it's hard to pick my favorite but I think Golden Dreams and Kingswood Torch are the 2 at the top of my list. They grow huge here in TN zone 7. I really like your videos. Informative and actually relaxing! Thanks for being you!
Coleus will be new for me in my garden since I never really had a shade garden until now. I want to grow chocolate covered cherry or chocolate mint. I tend to go with the darker variety. I love ❤️ my Sweet Potato vine / Sweet Carolina. So I am going to try the cutting and grow inside.
I love all coleus but my favorite is the Kong Coleus ! So striking and beautiful ! I’ve never tried getting cuttings from it but I will definitely be trying this .
My favorite coleus (this year) is the Wicked Witch! I’m going to try to over winter some and some sweet potato vines too…..alongside with you! Congrats on the 10k I enjoy your information and friendship. Happy Gardening 💚
I have many coleus in my backyard garden. I’m glad you reminded me about propagating the coleus and the sweet potato vine. I also have that exact color. Even though it’s a perennial here in zone 9, I will still propagate it too just in case. Love your channel!
Congratulations! I love your channel. I have some coleus in my huge frog pots in front of my house. I never propagate them, but maybe I will try to do it this year. Also potato plants I have in my big pots with cannas. They are very easy plants to grow.
Thank you so much for this info. I’m currently trying to root hydrangea. I love coleus too. I look for the pink center leaves. I don’t know the names. I found some clearance plants at home depo last week and was so excited to get my first clematis. Wahoo!!!! Have a great night. When my yard dries up I can plant it.
I love coleus, my favorite is Rediculous and Sedona Sunset from PW. I am also planning on using the Medusa ornamental potato vine next year. I really enjoy your videos!
Congratulations on 10,000 subscribers❤️ I love your content. It’s so informative to watch a RUclipsr in my zone! I have never grown colious before but it on my list of plants to buy next year!
You must have been reading my mind. I was just thinking about saving clippings from my coleus plants just today, lol. My favorite is the one with pink in the middle surrounded by green but they all pretty much all pretty to me. I never thought about sweet potato vines though. I think I'll try that next year. Thank you for this video!
Congrats on 10k subscribers!!! Great video!! This year is the first year I did an arrangement with the green and pink coleius, green sweet potato vine, and purple potato vine. I really like the way the coleuis stands high in the back and the vines trail in the front. Love it. I think I will be adding some pink flowers to them next time. Thanks so much for sharing your tips. I will be planting some cuttings for next year too.
Congratulations on your milestone, I love the content you bring to gardening! Because I have mostly sun, Coleus Redhead is a favorite, what a gorgeous plant!
Congratulations on 10k! I am very new to gardening but really enjoyed my pink, green coleus. I propagated one cutting successfully a few weeks ago and now trying a few more!
I overwintered three types of coleus from cuttings. It was very successful and I plan to do it again this year. I did Golden Dreams and a couple of Main Street ones but I don’t remember which ones. Plan to add wicked witch this year. Good luck with yours!

Congratulations!! That is a great idea to start next year planting from this year cutting, I think I will do the same 😊🪴I like the burgundy coleus with the lime green border., those colors work so great together. Happy planting 🌿
Happy planting! Thank you!
I've propagated coleus in water many times & always had success, so easy. My favorite coleus is 'lime time'.
I love the dark red coleus! Beautiful garden! I’ll be trying the sweet potatoe vines rooting 😊 never thought of doing this before! Very good idea 👍🏽
I know right?!?!! Thank you!
Absolutely LOVE this! Will definitely try it out - great way to winter over coleus so that next year we can try different ones!
Rediculous coleus has been my favorite this year 😍
SO many great varieties to choose from!
I subscribed the first time I saw your channel and have enjoyed it ever since !🌿 😊
Thank you for the tips! Can’t wait to see how they do over the winter inside! My favorite variety of coleus is ‘Main Street Ruby Road’!
I am definitely trying this. I planted one this year, (don’t know the variety) that I got from Walmart and it got so big and beautiful. I would definitely like to have it in my garden again next year. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Wonderful! Good luck!
Let me know how it goes for you! Fingers crossed for all of us!
Yes i took lots of cuttings of that one to.just got my soil to get them going. Mine got likec3 .5 foot tall
I have also saved coleus from year to year from cuttings in fall. Zone 5 in northern Illinois. Will try to root some ornamental sweet potatoes this year. Love the dipped in wine coleus. I Enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Thank you Elizabeth!
I do coleus year round! Wicked witch has been so fun to grow this year. Going to try the potato vine today!! Thanks friend 💚
You are welcome! :)

Welcome Home! and happy gardening!
Felicidades! I am learning so much about different plants from your videos and how to embrace planting things in the fall versus just buying mums lol. the coleus looks like velvet. so pretty.
You are so welcome! So many possibilities, I think we all start that way... blooms for summer then everything else gets forgotten :)
That is awesome! Thanks for Sharing Angie!
This is a good idea, I’m going to try taking cuttings from both types of plants! I enjoy all the coleus! Especially because they add color to a shady area! You are a great inspiration! Thank you!❤️
Good luck! Please let me know how they do for you!
Thanks for explaining the propagation process. I will certainly try it. My favorite coleus is Chocolate Drop.
Good choice!
I enjoy all coleus but I think my favorite is Wicked Witch. Love the little edge of bright green!
Oh sounds so pretty!
My favorite coleus are the fishnet coleus and the chocolate drop!!! This will also be the first year I try to propagate mine in water so your video had perfect timing. Thanks.
I was trying to find the chocolate drop this year but couldn’t find it locally! I love dark foliage!
I’m going to try and overwinter with new cuttings from my coleus as well! My favorite is the colder dreams colorblaze!!! I’m addicted to having a ton in my garden!!!
I’m going to be adding this to my notes!
Thanks for sharing Lynda!
@@SoilandMargaritas I didnt know a single thing about Coleus until your video. Today I noticed some in a plantar that I have passed by every week for months. Thanks for teaching me.
I like so many of the great varieties of coleus and am no so excited to try rooting the ones I have. I've never tried rooting them before. Thank you for the inspiration!!!!!! :)
Absolutely! Let me know how it works for you!

I just tried growing coleus for the first time this year and love them. They add a new layer to the garden. I always love your videos!
You are right, sometimes we forget about those foliage plants and only think about flowers.
Well deserved! Truly love your channel! Great info, ideas, Music, photography, birds crickets & all 👍🏻😊❤️🪴
I’ve had success with coleus cutting in the past..but haven’t tried potato vine yet. Chocolate drops is my fav 😉
Birds, crickets and all lol...Thanks so much!

I've learned a lot from your channel. I love dahlias, begonias, and butterfly bushes.

Good choice! Thank you!
Good luck!

Awesome! Try it and let me know!

That is awesome! Thank you!
Congratulations on your milestone, I love the content you bring to gardening! Because I have mostly sun, Coleus Redhead is a favorite, what a gorgeous plant!
Ohhh I bet! 🍁♥️ I feel like coleus is such a great addicting to any garden, the foliage alone is lovely!
Congratulations on 10k!
I am very new to gardening but really enjoyed my pink, green coleus. I propagated one cutting successfully a few weeks ago and now trying a few more!
That is awesome! I am excited to hear most people are successful doing this!
I love you and your presentation of how to take cuttings and propagate new plants. My favorite Coleus is from the blaze series called wicked witch.

Thanks! I'm going to use your idea and start some coleus. Never have tried it either.
I overwintered three types of coleus from cuttings. It was very successful and I plan to do it again this year. I did Golden Dreams and a couple of Main Street ones but I don’t remember which ones. Plan to add wicked witch this year. Good luck with yours!
Sounds great! This makes me happy and hopeful for mine.
