  • Every checkout experience is different, so we’ve created 3 different ways to integrate what3words. All 3 options feature AutoSuggest to help your customers quickly enter and validate a what3words address.
The first option is a dedicated what3words address field placed below any other address information. It’s entirely optional, so customers can choose to fill it in, or leave it blank. It can be added via a plugin, or our Autosuggest component.
Option 2 upgrades your existing address field to accept what3words as well as street addresses. This option can be switched on in compatible address validation software. Customers can choose to start by entering their what3words address, confirming it, and then selecting their street address from the dropdown options, so all the information is captured smoothly by the one field.
Option 3 upgrades your existing delivery notes free text box, enabling it to detect and validate a what3words address. As normal, customers can enter any extra details as free text. But, if they start typing a what3words address, this is automatically detected and Autosuggest is triggered to validate it. You can add this using the what3words Notes component.
No matter which method you choose, being able to give a really accurate delivery location will help your customers feel more confident placing their order, knowing it will arrive in exactly the right place. Add what3words to your checkout today at what3words.com/ecommerce
