I love Gabby, and I especially loved her in 2012. Her personality shines through and I loved seeing her smile through her routines. 2016 she seemed so sad or down a lot. There was definitely that "it" factor missing this past year vs. 2012.
I have so much pride for our country watching this adorable little girl smiling with the whole stadium clapping for her while she makes her dream come true. Such a beautiful moment.
I love this! It's so entertaining and I lovethat she got the crowd excited. Most floor routines are to boring classical music and while the gymnastics is excellent, it doesn't have the same excitement to it. Way to go, Gabby!
Thanks so much for sharing some information about the life of Gabby Douglas. It's such an inspirational story. It's a great reminder to our youth that setting goals early in life is so important. Developing plans, working hard, sacrificing, and persevering are REQUIRED.
When I saw the interview and she said that that was a gold medal winning performance I though that was and that a million dollar smile from her and her teammate Jordyn Weiber was worth it!
I can't believe people are saying gabby did not stick any of her landing here , she only take a step on her first pass and she sticks the rest . Adding a stag jump of a sissone in her tumbling pass gives her extra points and thus consider sticking her landing
Komova is probably the gymnast closes to perfection on beam. Her form on that event is textbook and apart from the wobbles and one or two imperfections, the rest is flawless. She is an outstanding beam worker, I can't believe you're trying to take that away from her to "justify" her loss.
Everyone will remember Vika, as the unlucky girl who was stolen twice in a row. She deserved to be golden for the beauty and the precision of her gymnastics. Noone will remember Gabby except her fans.
WRONG. Everyone still remembers Gabby, the first ever African American Olympic champion. Most remember Victoria for that vault, and the fact that she DIDN’T fight for the stick. It’s what cost her gold- she has stated as such herself. The only people who remember her well are her own countrymen. I personally choose to remember her for her bars skills- I was hoping she’d go to Rio and get the bars gold there. To say she is remembered and Gabby isn’t is a laugh riot.
Gabby deserved it the most of anyone there. Skills, quality, no matter, she deserved it most. Why are people so bitter about who won... It's about who shows up at a meet and hits every event. She did, end of story.
gabby's my hero :D my mum saw me watching these types of things and my sister sees me doing splits and stuff so my mum might be sighning me up for a gym :)
I cannot believe I just saw someone compare Gabby Douglas to Gutsu, LiliPod, Larissa Latynina, Vera Caslavska, Nadia Comaneci, Tourischeva, and Shushunova.
Okay: How do you make your body DO that?!? That first spinning-her-whole-body-thing-lengthwise-before-she-lands-when she goes to the first corner (you can tell I have no knowledge of gymnastics terms) just gives me the shivers. Amazing!
you mean the twists hahaha...I was always wondering until I started gymnastics...Youd do drill excercises and a lot of conditioning to get as strong as a horse xd... drills are sort of simple excercises who copy the moves from the tumbling tricks...so your brain remembers those moves and then you learn how to do tricks...hope this helped ;)
Jelena Lena Thanks. It's absolutely amazing, gymnastics. I do some simple exercises and drills, and my mind and body are trained to an exquisite degree as well. They involve 1) getting up to go get some more Cheetos when I run out, 2) looking around to see if there's some leftover chocolate candy I didn't already finish off, 3) watching gymnastics and other vigorous athletic pursuits before turning it off and taking a nap, after licking Cheetos crumbs off my fingers (unhappily, I found that unnatural florescent orange will permanently stain your sheets) and 4) chasing my cat off my easy chair when I get back with a fresh supply of Nature's perfect life-sustaining food, Cheetos.
Cruithne hahahahah you are superfunny xd... sounds like you love food..well us athletes do too...I loooove food...I enjoy it sooo much..I do athletics,running... and I made diet plan for myself to get more muscles....so I could not eat chocolate..guess what? I got so crazy after 3 days without chocolate that I just suddenly jumped off my bed and ran into the kitchen and smacked homemade Nutella rolls with powdered sugar into my face...so yeah...but believe me excercise is fun you feel proud and like you are flying after that... and then you get to eat double more food than ordinary people and you dont get fat :D
All kidding aside, though, I'm into interval training big time! It mellows my mood, is exhilarating, and once it's over, it puts a big smile on my face. Intervals consisting of alternating a big gooey slice of cheesy pizza with resting a few minutes, then kicking it into high gear with a bigger piece. I recommend interval training with alternate days of rest aerobics consisting of laying down and eating cheetos really quickly. Has worked WONDERS for my physique and disposition.
Hi Gabby,Your my favorite girl in the olympics!! i want to be in the olympics too but i bet i wont be in the olympics :(. Thanks from your biggest fan.
Wait, she's not going to change it just for me? I totally thought she would, based on my comment on one of the thousands of videos of her on youtube. If she is going to keep competing, she will change her routine; gymnasts change their floor routines on a regular basis. My only point was she could do even better that what she did in London, which is actually a big compliment, because she is already awesome.
You know this is for you people who say the routine is ugly you have obviously never taken gymnastics before if you had then you would appreciate how hard she worked to do this because believed me its hard. If you don't believe me go take a gymnastics class. Maybe then you would stop hating on people when there doing stuff you can't do yourself.
Okay listen up to all haters she has her gold medals at her house and there's nothing you can do about it and her performance was great so when you say it's " ungrateful routine" "not pretty to look at " well that's just your opinion while TRAINED PROFESSIONALS thought the opposite GO USA
She hit during team and AA. That's 8 routines. She was the only one who did all 4 during team. She missed one during qualifications. She hit during trials as well. Both days. 8 routines.
In qualification Gabby took on step out of bounds and slid, which resulted in two extra steps to rectify her balance..result was a reduction fo 2 points, komova took 5 steps off and received 1/2 point reduction, that is incorrect .
Kohei is definitely the king not just because he won AA in Olympics but because he won it 4 years in a row and each time he decimated the competition winning by over 1-3 points. No one can argue that he isn't the rightful king no ifs ands nor buts about it but I can't say the same for Gabby. I wanted her to win but winning one competition alone doesn't make you the queen. You can't compare Kohei's popularity as an AAer to Gabby's it's ridiculous to do so at this point.
I did not say the had a weak event. But in MAG, being so good on each events is quite impressive. Most of the male gymnast have a weak event (for a lot of them it's PH) where Kohei manages to be outstanding. He really is the best MAG gymnast and has been for quite a few years now. Gabby or any girl for that matter never had that leadership this quad. None were unbeatable.
"Komova will attend the Games using an amazing arrange of the British soul-jazz Amy Winehouse and classic rock Queen, a beautiful and challenging piece". "Hum, nice, I'll use papanamericano".
*Facepalm.* If you specified Olympics/Worlds then I wouldn't dispute the first part but you did. Ever heard of Dominique Dawes? She had many national AA medals. The Russians fell, walked off mats, and basically choked on every apparatus save bars, that's why the Americans won. The Romanians beat the Chinese, because the Chinese fell. The Chinese were not in gold medal contention, not with Cheng Fei out. Now that we have covered TFs, are we forgetting Komova's practically broken ankles?
She did not falter on beam either. Two wobbles and a step on dismount is not a big deal especially when the execution is nice enough to compensate. Because, yes, Komova is a good beam worker and she can affort wobbles here and there since the rest is flawless, hence the big scores.
I would've hated being on beam while the Americans were on floor. The crowd clapping and cheering would've made me fall off like 17 times
I love Gabby, and I especially loved her in 2012. Her personality shines through and I loved seeing her smile through her routines. 2016 she seemed so sad or down a lot. There was definitely that "it" factor missing this past year vs. 2012.

Comment Comment wait proud of your country, you should be proud of the girl.
I love this! It's so entertaining and I lovethat she got the crowd excited. Most floor routines are to boring classical music and while the gymnastics is excellent, it doesn't have the same excitement to it. Way to go, Gabby!
that lady though!! "wooow!"
Ikr! 😂
Sounded like Mickey Mouse lol
Her oversplits are insaneeee!! :)
Thanks so much for sharing some information about the life of Gabby Douglas. It's such an inspirational story. It's a great reminder to our youth that setting goals early in life is so important. Developing plans, working hard, sacrificing, and persevering are REQUIRED.
This is Gods gift to her family
When I saw the interview and she said that that was a gold medal winning performance I though that was and that a million dollar smile from her and her teammate Jordyn Weiber was worth it!
I loved how she was smiling the whole time..
I love you gabby you are the best gymnast ever

You are awesome Gabby!
Gabby made history, nuff said.
gold medal thats fucking rightttttt
Can't believe it's already been one year.
I completely agree, I really like seeing a gymnast's personality in her routine, and for the routines to not all look the same.
Great Choice of Song
you rock gabby i love gymnastics and i hope one day i can become as good as u one day :-)
THIS BLEW MY MIND
I can't believe people are saying gabby did not stick any of her landing here , she only take a step on her first pass and she sticks the rest . Adding a stag jump of a sissone in her tumbling pass gives her extra points and thus consider sticking her landing
She puts a smile on our faces EVERYIME
Wow! So much power. She's wonderful.
espectacular gabrielle douglas
love it !

okay that was pretty good, not everyone has to do ballet or swan lake dancing, they pick music and dance that fits their personality
She's awesome.
Gabby deserved it the most of anyone there. Skills, quality, no matter, she deserved it most. Why are people so bitter about who won... It's about who shows up at a meet and hits every event. She did, end of story.
Your awesome👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This was my jazz dance song last year

For good or for bad, she did her job. Nothing more, nothing less.

That's your opion.Nobody likes mean comments so don't post them. Gabby doesn't care if you say that-she's won 2 gold medals! 1000 cheers for Gabby.
Gabby Douglas you are a champion 🏅
You are great
this was amazing! all those peple who are insulting her ,stop. she apparently worked very hard on this
gabby's my hero :D my mum saw me watching these types of things and my sister sees me doing splits and stuff so my mum might be sighning me up for a gym :)
She killed it
luv her floor music
All Around winner is the queen of gymnastics. Same popularity went to Kohei Uchimura as the king of gymnastics.
She is my hero
True Talent !
Stop hating on her she is doing what she loves so stop it what if people where hating on u for something you love
... That savors strongly of bitterness...
I cannot believe I just saw someone compare Gabby Douglas to Gutsu, LiliPod, Larissa Latynina, Vera Caslavska, Nadia Comaneci, Tourischeva, and Shushunova.
She looks like she's having so much fun in this routine!
You go girl
love you gabby
elle est juste incroyable !!!!
Come Gabby you got this girl

Hi Gabby,Your my favorite girl in the olympics!! i want to be in the olympics too but i bet i wont be in the olympics :(. Thanks from your biggest fan.
Wowww she flies!!! Great! :)
shes too perfect
+CruithNe you just have to learn it. It's not hard when you learn it and you have to have steady balance like on the beam
Wait, she's not going to change it just for me? I totally thought she would, based on my comment on one of the thousands of videos of her on youtube. If she is going to keep competing, she will change her routine; gymnasts change their floor routines on a regular basis. i literally got goosebumps at 1.10
GO GABBY! She's trying out for the 2016 Olympics too! Will she win the gold medal again!?!?
YES!!! I hope...
I mean, idk, personally, i think if Simone Biles keeps it up, she can just BLOW EVERYONE OUT OF THE WATER at 2016
+Andrew H. SHE DIDIDIDIID
YOU PREDICTED THE FUTURE!!!!!!!! XD
No it’s Simone biles
She rocked that flip
What flip she is so amazing she did so many
I agree. what good is all the grace and class if you cant land a tumbling pass or a clean vault???
komova definitely should've won she will always be my role model
You know this is for you people who say the routine is ugly you have obviously never taken gymnastics before if you had then you would appreciate how hard she worked to do this because believed me its hard. If you don't believe me go take a gymnastics class. Maybe then you would stop hating on people when there doing stuff you can't do yourself.
Plus Komova's qualification beam score! WaYYY overscored!!!
Okay listen up to all haters she has her gold medals at her house and there's nothing you can do about it and her performance was great so when you say it's " ungrateful routine" "not pretty to look at " well that's just your opinion while TRAINED PROFESSIONALS thought the opposite GO USA

"Komova will attend the Games using an amazing arrange of the British soul-jazz Amy Winehouse and classic rock Queen, a beautiful and challenging piece". "Hum, nice, I'll use papanamericano".
Iam the biggest fan
lets have a vote !
THUMBS UP IF YOU THINK SHES ROBOTIC
THUMBS DOWN IF YOU THINK SHE IS NON ROBOTIC eg ELEGANT & GRACEFUL
*Facepalm.*

mailee o keefe is 13 and she does almost all of that in her floor routine everything except the third flip
Well I feel sorry for her. She peaked at the wrong time.
She did not falter on beam either. Two wobbles and a step on dismount is not a big deal especially when the execution is nice enough to compensate. Because, yes, Komova is a good beam worker and she can affort wobbles here and there since the rest is flawless, hence the big scores.
I prefer this over her 2016 fx routine
