The problem with higher speed 2 track roads is there is always the chance of a side by side coming the opposite direction around a blind corner and that = a bad day.
I hear you on that. I pay very close to attention to dust, noise, lights, anything that would give me a heads up. Definitely a risk factor. I’m more afraid of hitting cows or deer. I’ve had some very close calls with both. Luckily where I ride mostly I’ve never seen a side by side, but I never take that for granted.
@@insideoutside73 👌🏻I’m over in the eastern part of the state(Safford) and we have side by sides everywhere. Luckily it is pretty open so we can usually see them coming but we’ve had a few close calls in the sand washes. I’ve done the single track trail up to Crown King several times; it’s a challenging trail but is pretty country.
@@williamcrotts7054 There’s also a lot of old mine claims and mines that have been forgotten about long ago. This is an area where skills and courage are a must. Very isolated, rough and most side by side owners are looking for easy and close to safety. Somewhere they can get to in their Honda civic. 😂
Hahahaha, I'm the guy in the minivan on the right when you first started out. My family and I were playing in the creek you crossed. You have a really nice setup. I've done the same trail on my DRZ400 and it's beautiful, but I always had to adjust my carb because of the elevation gain. The Honda's with fuel injection are so nice. I've been riding and 4x4ing in the area for a while, hit me up if you're ever in need of some fresh ideas.

Man this looks awesome. I just got my 2 stroke and I'm working on transitioning over from my honda 250, but I don't get to ride anywhere right now with trails THIS nice. Not even Hollister Hills.

That’s a good question. I’ve never just rode it non stop nor have I payed attention to the amount of time I took during breaks. I feel like I’m usually out there about 4 hours. Sometimes I get out there and I just go at it pushing myself and other times it’s a lot more casual, which is usually when I’m taking others for the ride. There are variations to the ride that can make it longer or shorter. Depends on what level someone wants to ride at. What’s on your mind that you are asking this question?

@@locomotionmike it’s a Ram mount. It works well. My son in law uses the Quad Lock and it works really well. Two options that have been tested and both have been great.

I rode 60 miles yesterday 1/2 of it was part of this 50 mile loop I created and the other half was all new trails I’m mapping out to go from Prescott to Phoenix. It was Sunday and I saw 1 guy on a Beta right by where I parked and started my ride. I usually ride during the week and I’ve never come across another rider ever. It’s my secret playground. I see one or two tracks every once in a while, but I’ve never actually seen anybody riding. I’ve also never seen a forest ranger. You should have an OHV sticker, which cost $25 and you can get those from a licensing company here in town called Footework.
Prescott. Ponderosa Park Area. Hard to explain because there are lots of Y’s in the trails, so you have to know which way to go, otherwise you hit a bunch of dead ends or end up completely off course. If you would like to go riding some time just hit me up and I’ll show you.
@@insideoutside73 I used to get home everyday after work and roll out of my garage for some 2 wheel therapy. My house was at the very back of the park, bordering the forest. Still miss my house there..
@@insideoutside73 Cool, thank you! I could tell your front tire was holding well in the loose rocky stuff, which I also ride a lot of here in Northern Nevada. I ride an 06 450EXC, bought in September last year, it had a new Battlecross X40 on the rear which seems to work very well, but out in front is a Tusk Crossbite and it feels pretty sketchy to me, no matter what pressure I run it at. I'll be replacing it and will try the X31. Thanks again! BTW, spent most of my life in AZ between Phoenix and Show Low.

Yes. Pretty much. It’s a lot of fun. There can be different variations incorporated into it depending on how difficult or not so you want.

Thank you. Bridgestone Battlecross X40 on the rear and X31 on the front. Great tire set up. I got that set up from 6X Baja champion Colton Udall.
