    The problem with higher speed 2 track roads is there is always the chance of a side by side coming the opposite direction around a blind corner and that = a bad day.

    • @insideoutside73
      @insideoutside73  4 месяца назад +6

      I hear you on that. I pay very close to attention to dust, noise, lights, anything that would give me a heads up. Definitely a risk factor. I’m more afraid of hitting cows or deer. I’ve had some very close calls with both. Luckily where I ride mostly I’ve never seen a side by side, but I never take that for granted.

      @@insideoutside73 👌🏻I’m over in the eastern part of the state(Safford) and we have side by sides everywhere. Luckily it is pretty open so we can usually see them coming but we’ve had a few close calls in the sand washes. I’ve done the single track trail up to Crown King several times; it’s a challenging trail but is pretty country.

    Hahahaha, I'm the guy in the minivan on the right when you first started out. My family and I were playing in the creek you crossed. You have a really nice setup.
    I've done the same trail on my DRZ400 and it's beautiful, but I always had to adjust my carb because of the elevation gain. The Honda's with fuel injection are so nice.

    • @insideoutside73
      @insideoutside73  4 месяца назад +3

      Yes. Pretty much. It’s a lot of fun. There can be different variations incorporated into it depending on how difficult or not so you want.

  • @DSHoss
    @DSHoss 4 месяца назад +1

    Approximately how long does the 50 mile ride take to complete minus breaks (just pure ride time)?

    • @insideoutside73
      @insideoutside73  4 месяца назад

      That’s a good question. I’ve never just rode it non stop nor have I payed attention to the amount of time I took during breaks. I feel like I’m usually out there about 4 hours. Sometimes I get out there and I just go at it pushing myself and other times it’s a lot more casual, which is usually when I’m taking others for the ride. There are variations to the ride that can make it longer or shorter. Depends on what level someone wants to ride at. What’s on your mind that you are asking this question?

      I rode 60 miles yesterday 1/2 of it was part of this 50 mile loop I created and the other half was all new trails I’m mapping out to go from Prescott to Phoenix. It was Sunday and I saw 1 guy on a Beta right by where I parked and started my ride. I usually ride during the week and I’ve never come across another rider ever. It’s my secret playground. I see one or two tracks every once in a while, but I’ve never actually seen anybody riding. I’ve also never seen a forest ranger. You should have an OHV sticker, which cost $25 and you can get those from a licensing company here in town called Footework.

I ride an 06 450EXC, bought in September last year, it had a new Battlecross X40 on the rear which seems to work very well, but out in front is a Tusk Crossbite and it feels pretty sketchy to me, no matter what pressure I run it at.
