I just picked up my second p30L and its a V1, my older one is a V3. The V1 definitely has a better reset then my V3 and its well broke in. Im really considering carrying it for duty. Thanks for all the great H&K content, keep up the great work.

Thanks for the feedback and I know some cops carry them in TX. They also authorize the VP9. But honestly I'd probably carry a P30L.

DevilDolphin Do you feel prepping to the wall with the V1 LEM is safe? Under stress? Whereas the V3 is heavy and consistent; you have plenty of warning. As well, any consistently low-thrown shots from “NOW!” syndrome?

Another great vid!! You are absolutely correct about the break in and springs. Also doing something to clean up the reset. I have about 3300rds thru my P30LV1 9mm. I’ve only run 124gr in it. I added the GG Reset and it’s almost a different pistol. I love it even more.. this will be one of your favorites once you get enough rounds thru it and it smooths out, and lightens up, and add the reset reduction kit. It’s a whole different game at that point 👍. The shorter slide release levers are a must and I highly recommend them for it. Once you have made the upgrades, and are around 3k thru it, you will never leave it at home and want another just like it 😎. It’s almost like having a HK45 lite LEM in 9mm. Very nice pistol and it will serve you well, and will also enjoy it 10x more after you complete the transformation. Thanks for another awesome vid Dolphin 👍🇺🇸

Thanks for the feedback and I'm hoping they restock the kits so I can throw one in there. I think the LEM with the gray guns will be awesome and possibly shorter than the V3 with the gray guns kit. We'll see. Might just be a mental thing with the LEM vs DA/SA but I swear that reset was shorter factory vs factory in favor of the LEM.

So I completed my p30 collection. I have the P30L, two P30’s and a P30sk. All V1 light LEM with the GrayGuns short reset. I love them. I sold all my other guns and kept my HK’s and my Glocks. The LEM does take a bit of getting used to.

I had a P30L years ago but sold it. I really should have kept it but mine was .40 cal and I was getting rid of all my guns in that caliber. Now of course it's really hard to your hands on one in any caliber. My P30S has the Gray Guns carry package which I like but I'm really wanting to all-LEM nowadays.

LEM is like a drug once you master the trigger. Some people have a longer learning curve than others, but once you get there it really changes your perspective. Especially my HK45 in Light LEM. I still think that's my fastest gun.

I finally snagged a gray guns drop in for my P30l v3. Top gun had them. The install was pretty easy. I was amazed at the goop in the back of my pistol. Cleaned it all up, sear roll pin was easy too. Runs awesome. Reset is like it should have been from the factory. Thank you for bringing this kit to my attention.

I'm entertaining a gray P30s. There's a few in stock and the price is very liveable. Plus I've got mags out the ass. I'm just not super happy with the way the S models feel sometimes. I feel the safety when I'm really trying to control the recoil, but sometimes I don't. The LEM lets me get a super high and firm grip on it. I might get it anyway though, shooting the Grey VP9 has really made me appreciate the color.

I’m the opposite. I feel the safety helps me get a higher grip and in turn helps me control the pistol more.

unfortunately i got the one with the safety on both sides but that was all they had after waiting for 2 years. i wanted no safety, just the hammer and rear decocker.
then when i go to pick up my paid for p30L they now have the same thing but just p30. i love the p30L especially with my x300u-a.
ill have to wait until january to see if i can buy a p30. putting myself on punishment right now

I just got a P30L v1. Lucked into one at grabagun. Can’t wait to shoot it. I’m a fan of the HK45 full size and compact in LEM and I’m hoping I can get accustomed to the reset on my P30L.

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903  5 лет назад +2

IT's a shift for sure, and HK really got the trigger right on the HK45 series for a stock "combat" trigger. IT's pretty clean and it smooths out just like the P30LS I have, but the HK45 is a very easy winner both in feel and reset. However, that doesn't make the P30 series unshootable, they're very stiff when you first get them, but after about 2k down the pipe it's a very nice gun to shoot.

Hey @Navyman8309 i’m an Oregon resident unfortunately looks like we took a huge L on measure 114 and ai got one more chance to buy a pistol due to financial reasons. Should I buy a P30L v3, or a Glock 17? I already own a VP9, M9A4, and a USP 45 which I all adore equally. If the only pistols you owned were mine, and you had only enough cash to buy one more before 114 hits, which would you buy? P30L or G17 Gen 5? Manual of arms not withstanding I plan on training both striker and DA/SA since I own both.

Like your content. Especially like all the HK featurettes you do. I'm about to "pull the trigger" on a 9mm P30L. I looked at a lot of stuff and keep coming back to it. However, I am indecisive on the trigger variant. I have dry-fired a V3 and was disappointed in the long reset. I really like what I've seen on the V1 but have been unable to find one. After months of searching, I found a shop that can order one for me. So, I'd like your feedback on which variant you'd pick if you could only get one, considering the factory trigger being left as is and a Gray Guns upgrade. I'm leaning towards the light LEM but question whether it can run as fast as the regular DA/SA. Thanks in advance!

I've been watching your vids on HKs off and on, and am now curious about HK. I haven't watched this vid yet as of typing so sorry if you answer this in the video.
I'm debating the P30 LEM vs P30sk LEM. Idk enough about HK to tell you if they are "V1" or not, but both are double action only, no safety, with a light double action pull. I personally like the reset on the gun, its on par or better than every striker gun I've shot/fiddled with so far.
Any reason to consider the VP9 vs P30 LEM? The VP9 in store, its trigger felt a bit gritty in comparison to the P30 LEM but not sure if that is expected or not. Both the P30 and VP9 come with 17 round mags, from what I understand that probably means they are somewhat newer models (old ones came with 15rds I think)?
Anything else I should look for with either of those P30 handguns?

Hk didn't design these models to be "race guns" in design. They were designed to have a moderate trigger pull for longevity. They were not meant to have that broken in feel that todays shooter expects. Todays shooting crowd is spoiled to expect factory pistols and rifle to be perfect out of the box. The manufacturers have a specification to basic gun owners. This model is no different than any other Hk firearm, unless it is designed to be an expert class or a HK23 class type pistol.
