Awesome video! Really helpful for installing the kit in my P30S. I, too, opted to keep the original firing pin block spring. Mostly because the spring that came with the kit is somewhere in orbit with all of the AR detents that I've launched over the years.

I performed this job exactly as instructed here, however, the gun would no longer work in single action. When I found your follow up video, you mentioned the sear pin needs to be replaced with the longer one for this problem to be avoided. On my P30L V3, they refer to this piece as the "release catch and decocking lever". If you could just add in the part about removing the sear/release catch and decocking lever and showing how to swap you the pin in this piece with the longer Gray Guns version at approx 5:50, the video would be perfect and take all the confusion out of this fairly simple upgrade. For some, like you, the pin swap was not necessary, however, my gun would no longer work in SA without it. Thank you for your hard work on the video, it was very helpful!

Reading on forums apparently Bruce from Grayguns said you MUST install that sear roll pin in the kit as it’s a little bit longer and allows the kit to run reliably and not fuck up your firearms.
I didn't put it in and I don't know what Bruce is talking about because it makes no f'ing difference if it's a little longer. The original works and there is nothing in a pin that is a little bit longer that will do Anything... its whole purpose is to hold the firing pin and maybe that not square cube looking thing that holds the new lighter spring in place.. Sigs are similar. Mayhe Bruce just wants to make sure we all use the roll pin because as the author of the video says.... some roll or rolled pins may loose their tension with repeated use. I haven't found that to be the case either. It's not like a crush washer on an AR or a crush washer on automotive and airplane spark plugs where you really should replace them if you took one off.

Would you recommend replacing the firing pin with a titanium one? Do the listed benefits really warrant a switch out? Curious what your thoughts are on this
the idea behind a titanium (read lighter) firing pin is the concept of reducing lock time. The idea being that the Round will be detonated faster than with a standard firing pin. Faster meaning literally thousand of a second which is kind of moot! added to that, 98+% of shooters do not and will never shoot a rifle (much less a pistol) well enough to justify the cost and time of installing a titanium firing pin! I hope this comment was insightful in regard to your question.

So this P30LS is a carry gun of sorts. I rely on it heavily. Now as far as a light LEM I would say yes as I've got a thousand rounds through this setup and counting now. But I haven't directly tested it yet. I plan to install it on my P30L V1 as soon as I can buy a kit. They sold out before I could snag one sadly. But as of right now yes I do.
I did and do carry it. The double action, while it does feel smoother and lighter is still way enough poundage that you will really want to have to shoot your gun if you carry with one in the chamber, safety off like I do... I've aways liked DA/SA and actually wish I could get my HK45T with no safeties at all. I shoot well with the LEM triggers, just reminds me of every other polymer gun striker fire with regards to the trigger.

You needed to install the longer [GG supplied] roll pin on the Sear to allow the new [GG Control Latch] to 'work in disengaging the sear', in addition to the hammer block doing the same. ref: ruclips.net/video/Mr5nQu2q344/видео.html explained at 14:30 min, the new longer 'roll pin' didn't look all that hard to replace 12:50 min, despite McSpook being all thumbs during his video.

I shoot well with the LEM triggers, just reminds me of every other polymer gun striker fire with regards to the trigger.
gsyoung54 I ended up converting my HK 45 and 45c into lite LEM. No regrets... superb trigger. Took me a little while to get used to, coming from a double single and Stryker fired “guy”. Lite LEM is a winner on these guns lol
I guess I need another HK to try.. what a shame! 👍
@@ivanvega2821 Now you have got my attention... just finished at HKUSA's page and reading forums and a lot of people like the V light that you put in... so how would you describe the teigger pull with the hammer down? And subsequent actions of the LEM light? Does firing off the reset feel like firing of a DA/SA reset?
can you just install the short reset trigger and not change out anything else?
You needed to install the longer [GG supplied] roll pin on the Sear to allow the new [GG Control Latch] to 'work in disengaging the sear', in addition to the hammer block doing the same. ref: ruclips.net/video/Mr5nQu2q344/видео.html explained at 14:30 min, the new longer 'roll pin' didn't look all that hard to replace 12:50 min, despite McSpook being all thumbs during his video.
Thank you for posting this, was looking for this specific info for over a week.
His wife doesn't like him dry firing in the house. Lol.
All thumbs, hah. I only launched the hammer spring retainer across my workbench once. The sear pin is not hard at all. The spring retainer pin is probably the only part that's a pain.
Hey Dolphin; I just picked up a 9mm P30S V3 a few days ago, and I'm hoping I can remove the manual safety and have a decocker only. I was hoping since you're the resident expert on modern HK pistols, perhaps you know if that's possible, and if so, what that would entail? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
This kit or a match kit for a USP?
I installed this kit on my P30S 10 times and it wouldn't release the hammer after reset. It shortened the reset significantly but if it won't fire, it's worthless. I reinstalled the original control lever and it operates perfectly! Any ideas?
Never mind, I was able install the sear pin which was included in the kit and it works fine now.
Someone help! I did this but (listen carefully)
When I pull the trigger and hold it, while holding the trigger I put the safety on, then let go of trigger
Now safety is rendered useless and will fire every time.
Very familiar with guns too but what did I do wrong?
Will this work for the hk 45 expert?
Does this reduce the trigger reach?
Well done sir.
Was that a stock HK45?
Is the safety supposed to work exacly like before?
Yes. Check the springs and make sure they're good to go. And did you get the kit for that model?
@@navyman8903 yes i did i got the one for the safety i have the exact ome you have when you mean clip are you taking about the clip in the mag catch....THANK YOU for taking the time to reply brother!
Hello and thanks i acrually sent the my firearm to grayguns and they told me they didnt understand why the safety changed....is it possible that you can make a quick video of how the safety worked prior to the install and how it worked after....Please Help.
@@lalocster788 My safety works the same as before. I'm honestly not sure what you're asking me. You might have had something fall out? I'm not sure how the safety wouldn't be working.
@@navyman8903 ok so before i installed the kit the way it worked was when the safety was on and i put preassure on the trigger their would be no movement of the hammer....after i installed the kit when the safety was on id apply preassure to the trigger and the hammer would travel back slightly...is that how its supposed to work? Thanks for the response i hope im not imposing.
Process for p30l decocker ?same
Want to know where to buy? Please introduce me. Thank you very much.
impossible to disassemble the striker P30SK
Nice job, subbed
Would it work on the p30sk.
Duane Olson Just installed on my P30SK V3 (without Safety). Absolutely love it. Reset is about 30% shorter.
Poor parts placement under the camera while removing/placing parts and off-camera work kinda defeats the purpose of the vid, does it not?
Yasssssss!
I hope everyone is excited as you are lol.
DevilDolphin I’m currently “furloughed” right now so I have no choice but to be overly positive about everything lol Plus I really like the content of this channel.
@@crey5561 Thanks and I'm glad I can bring you a little happiness. Hopefully this stuff gets sorted out.
Do not follow these instructions without reading down several of the comments...You must install the NEW sear roll pin on the decocker... It is NOT shown on this video.
Just read a long thread about this on P-F and realized what a train wreck you caused by misidentifying the sear pin, and refusing to install it initially. You really caused un-needed damage to the reputation of this kit.
Wow. This video makes it look complicated.
I tried doing this on a p30 v1 lem i get two resets and some light strikes help!!!!
Did you get it fixed by now?
Why are u taking half the gun apart ? Absolutely no reason to to take hammer strut/spring out, pull the hammer and all tension is released…
I had to use a mallet and excess force... lol
Thumbs down as soon as I saw him start removing the hammer spring without decocking the hammer. Seriously wtf
$100 is ridiculous in my opinion.
Let me shoot the hk45 while you do your testing on the p30
Camera work is pretty sloppy and makes it hard to actually see what you were doing... But your dialogue kind of made possible to follow... somewhat...
14:40 lol
