@@nevetsnolog only saw them once, in Chicago in fall 2011 - a great little venue in Lincoln Park called Lincoln Hall. It was my freshman year of college #memories
Man...it's just bizarre how important and celebrated this band was for those couple of years in 2009 to 2011..And for years after, I'd go back every now and then and revisit. Connect my personal memories to where I was when these records released. For years after, I hoped Chris and JR would get back to making music. Chris being the mad scientist and JR being the one that keeps the train on the tracks. Not only was it heartbreaking when JR passed away, it was also deflating as just a fan of the band. There was like... always this untapped potential it had. It serves as another life reminder to appreciate things in front of you.
This comment crossed my path exactly at this time when I've been listening to Girls a lot. Since Chet JR White I took a deeper look at Girls. I sort of regrer overlooking them when 'Album' and specially 'Father, Son and Holy Ghost' came out.
I can still see myself in aunt Alice's front yard in 1977 throwing a tennis ball on her roof in the front yard and catching it with my new baseball glove over and over again.
i'd go further in the interpretation and say the blossoming flowers represent the blossom of herself. she's going somewhere/ or the travel itself makes she grow and feel released.
-.-" I would understand if you said it nicely, but I take offense to the word "gayest". We both have our own music we like and I could care less what your oppinion is.
Still holds up after 10 years. Can’t believe it’s been that long
