- San Francisco band Girls is Christopher Owens and JR White. Christopher and JR met in San Francisco and quickly decided to make music together. They eventually became roommates and began recording in their bedrooms, using reel-to-reel tape and an old computer. Combining Christopher's simple and heartfelt lyrics with JR's production, they drew from '60s jangly pop, '50s surfer music, and their love of rock 'n' roll to create a California indie pop record all their own. Their debut, Album, was released on September 22, 2009. Self-described as "honest, loose, ethereal, obnoxious and perfect," Album also includes a seven-minute track called "Hellhole Ratrace" that was rated by Pitchfork as "one of the 100 best songs of the year."

I'm glad that I'm not the only one with tremendous respect for Dwight Yoakam. Buenos Noches From A Lonely Room is one of my favorite albums ever.
Liking Oasis isn't seen as very cool, but they're good, so props to Chris on that one.

Got into these very late. 2022 so sad to here aboyt jr, its kind of surreal to me this was happening in my 20s being concious of it and it being over. It has this aura for me.

I hate when people say 'Be Here Now' from Oasis is a bad album...It isn't...The only thing wrong with the album is the songs are all about a minute too long.

@OdeToNecrophilia theyre actually pretty genuine, whoever wrote that is right, they are simple and humble yet they produce beautiful music
@theeightofcups loads of people still listen to vinyl, i like vinyl because owning it feels so good, i like to experience every part of the music including artwork etc. with a download you don't get any physical hold on the record
also the sound quality of vinyl is way better than cd's

You know when someone tells you, "you have a booger in your nose" and your like, thank God, I would've walked around all night with that thing. It's in that same spirit I say, this guy has got to fix those teeth. He's handsome, funny, talented...etc., but damn, it would be the best 2500 bucks he ever spent.
