Yeah, the point of this scene is that Homelander is delusional. His abilities don't make him an inherently better person, if anything having the abilities he has isolated him to the point where he has no self-control, a need for outside reassurance and a god-complex all at the same. Take away the parts of Homelander that were made in a lab and you'll find an out-of-control manchild. He's not a hero and he's definitely not better. He says that out loud because deep down he's not sure if it's true and he desperately wants to believe that it is

" If they can control me, you can BET your ass they can control you. Already do you just dont know it yet."
There would absolutely be a huge movement supporting homelander irl
1:35 that clear reference to America’s military empire is so well done. Implying that America as the “god given protector of people”
homelander is a representation of America's attitude as a nation

"He's a human, he's just like the rest of us" Oof, hits different now
I come back to watch this clip everytime I'm feeling down to give me strength

Yeah, the point of this scene is that Homelander is delusional. His abilities don't make him an inherently better person, if anything having the abilities he has isolated him to the point where he has no self-control, a need for outside reassurance and a god-complex all at the same.
Take away the parts of Homelander that were made in a lab and you'll find an out-of-control manchild. He's not a hero and he's definitely not better. He says that out loud because deep down he's not sure if it's true and he desperately wants to believe that it is
“I’m stronger , I’m smarter “ the little pause and facial expression of relief when he says “I’m better” was TOP TIER acting gotdamn. Good shxt !
Thing is, everything he said is absolutely correct - except for him being “the real hero.”
He also isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.
And he claims he is being persecuted just because Stan Edger doesn’t kiss his ass all the time
@@poppopN he’s significantly smarter than the average American. Granted, that’s not saying much.
Not being smarter or not being a crybaby either… he’s no smarter than half the cast and he’s a literal man baby
Kinda a low bar to compare tbh.
That smirk is soooo creepy. Literally every single muscle in his face was acting. Good job Antony.
Metro really did a good job sampling this 😭
METROOOOO
best scene yet
Director: Hmm Antony? That wasn't in the script...
i was waiting for the “drinkin dope turned me to a superhero”💀💀
This scene has convinced me that Edgar definitely has a contingency plan for Homelander. No way you create something that evil and powerful without having a way to kill it in case it gets out of line.
Well edgar already has the boys like they had payback to get rid of soldier boy
we was watch this scene in family when came out, all just get in silence suddenly, outstanding speech, antony starr just givin at all
Gen V's supe virus perhaps
Anthony Starr is the real hero.
Imagine being Roger in this scenario
I bet his pants turned Brown when Homelander called him by name.
This actor just kills it everytime.
"Don't worry, I won't get drunk"

Hey, at least he's being honest
Right!
